House of Lancashire.......539 House of Yorkshire .......74 The first driver to book in for 2007 ??? Paul Woods !! Then seven more... MR BUMP off of the Yorks team was a superstar yesterday, with his car getting shorter & lighter every race and only having two wheels when HE CAME OUT to race in the DD.. I wonder if he and our BASHER are related, or both just great sports and insaine!! Action photos going up soon. 28th May 2006 PHEWWWWWW So, its over, the FIRST WARton of the Roses... I would like to thank the House Captains (Deb Pennington (with help off of Andy) and Jill Farrington (with help off King Tut)) for all their hard work, you played a blinder. I could not find one person who did not enjoy todays meeting... Also it was a much greater success than the first Metal Mania (with that guy off of the TV) and the HESP 1 (which was very wet). For fact fans there were 71 bangers in total, including the Jnr Bangers. I think there were at least Eight cars that rolled over (three in the Jnr Banger Final) Yes the teams were unbalanced and the House of York put up a sterling fight, though the odds were stacked against them with The House of Lancs coming out on top...Big Time. We are going to look at ways of making the teams more even for future years. Yes I had my doubts a few weeks back, but they pulled it off, big thanks to all the drivers who took part, you ALL should have a medal with your team colors on the ribbon, if you have not see Debs or Jill at the next race meeting. Driver of the day ??? Too many to mention, I suppose Basher & Paul Woods, oh and 333 and nearly all the Jnr Banger drivers and Big Al.. oh hang on, he was the bad lad... naughty Big Al.. Oh and ROLL ON WARton OF THE ROSES II in 2007 18th May 2006 W-O-T-R T Minus 10 DAYS Yes indeedy... only ten days until the FIRST WARton of the Roses.. Around 100 bangers, in two teams racing for their House & £1500 prize.. Its gunna be big and fun, make a date in yer diary and we will see you then. The support class is Stock Cars .. Racing for points. There are still a few spaces left to fill, in Unlimited Bangers & 2LTR Bangers. You need to have booked in to race on the day (except Stock Cars) so call 07932 616993 or 07930 229696 NOW Before its too late!!! 14th May 2006 BLINKIN RAIN Nerr mind though, it may well have been wet, but the atcion was great on the track. All classes impressed again with the Ministox showing some impressive driving skills in the slippy conditions, Jordan Rainford winning his first, but not last, race. Then we had super wrecks in the Super Bangers and Stock cars and the Bangers, the bangers.. They were on top form with fast action and huge wrecks. Then the ten car DD which again was awesome.. So well done to all the drivers and a big well done if you stayed to watch to the end, you were'nt let down. 6th May 2006 HOLIDAY ??? Well no, just THREE nights off work..In a row!! OMG.. Anyway I have added a lil bit to the WOR page, no not a drivers list yet. The report and stuff will be up soon, I'm waiting for Angela to send me the results from last meeting. They will be up soon. Don't forget NEXT Sunday sees leg one in the 10 on 10 with Buxton bangers meeting. ALL DRIVERS REMEMBER WE START RACING AT NOON.. So set out early. 30th April 2006 GREAT DAYS RACIN What a great day.. The weather was dry and sunny, only went cold after it got cloudy.. We had T-bones, head ons, jackings and Warton Crushes.. and they were in Ministox & Super Bangers !! The bangers seemed slightly thin on the ground, but entertaining anyway, wot with Basher & the olde Cambridge and Gav and the others providing great entertainment! Photos going up very very soon, ish. 16th April 2006 GET WELL SOON A big get well to the two stock car drivers and one Ministox driver who were hurt today. I trust you will all be back racing soon. The day was great though, on a few levels: The quality of driving, from Ministox to bangers, Stocks to Supers (OK thats everyone)... The weather, sunny & dry.....Almost warmish too. The action was immense, from banger wrecks to nose to tail racing in the Ministox for first place! Meeting back up with each other after a huge break. Dippy finishing every race in the Supers... (all you need to do now is get it out of first gear) Oh but I have a major moan, the program... No SnOrKs tHoRtS ... It seems my e-mail 'never arrived' I wasnt contacted and asked where the report was and, being paranoid, I'm wondering if Warton is going back to the Mick & Val dictatorship of a few years back, my face no longer fits so lets squeeze SnOrK out... I hope I'm way of the mark... I can't be bothered posting the 2000+ word report in full here, but I can give you a quick overview.. Glad its Easter & we can start racing. Loads of eggciting egg jokes. Looking forward to the season in all classes. Stating that money is tight & SnOrKsStOrE needs to sell games to fund this site.... Sadly it was a bad day in the shop and the CHAT ROOM & FORUM are up for the chop, sooner rather than later, the next cutback will be the photo albums down to a dozen or so.. We are off a racin tomorrow as we kick off the 2006 points scoring season. I am looking forward to the Ministox, with # 138 Dave Kellett and # 3 Sam Twist both giving us an awesome show at Metal Mania... The Bangers, Stock Cars and Supers (sadly no longer using fairy dust since it was outlawed at the close of the 2005 season) will also be causing destruction and mayhem as well as some mega close races throughout the season.. The weather looks, erm dare I say, promising and, thanks to Graham, Norman and Andy, the tracks ready for us.. So lets go racing... NOTE: if your travelling North on the M6.. there MAY be delays, so make extra time for your journey. You don't want to miss owt.
