A great days racing with it going to the Grand National to sort out who is the Champion of the season, the winnering being Mr Tap (oops sorry Fawcett in car # 67)... 25 bangers starting heat one and plenty of action all the way to a stonking DD. But tinged with a smattering of sadness, as Mr Assistant Starter (Paul Yeates) was on his last meeting, as was Mary Jo in the Track Shop and the track wall itself, well about 400 feet of it, which will be ripped out and replaced between now and the Crimbo meeting ... So with a tear in my eye, I sort out the digital photos.

Track tidy up day on SUNDAY at 10AM til its done, the more the merrier.

Oh and as Arnie says... 'Paul and Mary Jo ? They'll be back!'

Bangers for next season will be, roughly, the same as next season, half and half Unlimited and 2LTRS.. Plus the Metro meeting and at least one 1400cc race. Now if you are a Warton Member and a Banger driver and have any other thoughts, let us know.. Either in the forum, or contact Stormin Normin or any committee member.

Metal Mania prize money will be a total of Ł1500 .... Sounds fun :)

So the bangers ... no doubt there will be people moaning about the lack of action today... Lack of action ? Your having a laff.
1: More cars in the final and mechanics race.
2: Plenty of wrecks (# 611, # 318 and more).
3: New drivers (the Invaders two and more).
4: Cars that are fit to return next meeting..
So its not perfik, but if it gets the numbers up its worthy banning Follow Ins.

Best wishes to # 100 Peggy Potts and her Nephew # 300 Jordan Rainford who were both hurt in seperate accidents, but were seen later to be walking around.

On a lighter note why did it take an hour to drive 5 miles on the M6 home...?

Tis true.. Its race day this Sunday, second to last meeting of the season ... How bad is that ?

The last meeting of the season is 23rd October and also features 2LTR bangers, Super Bangers, Stock Cars & Ministox.

Xbox live is awesome... Im now hooked to a demo of Battlefield 2 as well as Burnout Revenge... Least it will help the long cold winter nights fly by (More info at SnOrKsStOrE). Talking of which SnOrKsStOrE will be in the track shop again on Sunday, get your bargins for Christmas..

Its been an odd week (dont read this if your squemish or about to eat) First off I see a lad with a live bird of prey on glove and all, it tried to fly away as I drove past but was tethered and lst time I saw it it was hanging upside down by its leg.. The spirit of Kes lives on. Then yesterday it was real disgusting.. another lad, about 17, in a garage that I visited ate a live big spider for a fiver, a bet off another lad. He said it tasted real bitter and crunchy... Yeuk..

Just.. A good, but long, days racing today, plenty of incidents and surprises... and loads of photos. Theres also a really good 'Silent Movie' that shows Duck creaming Dan Steele.. But it might not be up yet!

'All the members from Warton Stock Car Club send David's family and his friends our sincerest condolences at this sad time. Our prayers go with you all. It is tragic when this happens to someone young who enjoyed entertaining people. I don't think he ever raced at Warton, but he will be sadly missed in the banger world.'

TRAGIC NEWS 18-09-05 part 2

After a terrable accident at Bovingdon today, I am saddened to say there has been a death of banger drver # 91 Dave 'Beech' Beauchamp, a familar face in the Southern Race Circuits.. Although I did not know him, I feel for everyone who enjoys our sport and gets involved in such incidents. I send my condolences to his family and friends.

Well into double figures of a: Folks helping tidy up the track, and b: nappies found!. Sadly the latter was a higher number than the first. That said a lot has been done, and the track is looking quite tidy now. Mr farmer also was there, he empited all the bins, and got rid of the wood left over from the caravan meeting. Norman would like to thank all those who did turn up, about 15 or so, for doing so and to remind everyone to take theirn rubbish home next time !

Vandals have been to to the track and kindly tipped over all the bins, and the disabled tiolets.. Which was nice of them. They have also smashed every glass bottle left at the track, so watch your tyres next Sunday!

News from committee members at Mildenhall says that the British Championship Robin race was won by Peter Nelson (from Clitheroe) Second our very own Tut Knowles with Dave Cope and Paul Safter third and forth.... Jill Farrington also went out racing in a pig and ended up on her back, no change there then.

The forum has crashed, and any messages posted today have been lost. Its up and running again now, and I have had my own apology offa the forum folks.. So if anyone has posted on here from about 10AM to 5:30PM, please post again.

IMPORTANT NEWS FROM NORMAN "We have had a lot of trouble from the tip manager regarding rubbish getting blown about on the track and surrounding areas. He has given us to the end of THIS month to get it sorted or he will start proceedings against the club to retrieve clear up charges, as he will have to employ people to tidy it up himself. Therefore we require as many people as possible to attend the track THIS Sunday to collect the rubbish and keep him off our backs..."

I dropped a big clanger the other day, by stating that Big Al had armoured his car for the caravan meeting. This was untrue! The car, which was Big Als, was numbered 15 and driven by a different driver. I would therefore like to apologise to Big Al about this misunderstanding. (I will try and get my facts right next time)

That said, it does not detract from the point I was trying to make, which is new drivers are unlikey to start banger racing, and other drivers give up, when they see what other drivers do. We do need to address this, sooner rather than later. So keep your thoughts coming.

The numbers of bangers are dropping all over the country.. but why are they dropping at Warton, bear in mind the other race classes are doing really well for numbers, and action. Having spoken to a few banger (& xbanger) drivers at Warton last Sunday it seems we have a major problem at our track, that is armouring and following in. It was not only the Team Meeting at Buxton that reduced our banger numbers last Sunday. It seems many drivers are put off by cars which are armoured and the huge follow ins we have at Warton.
So what can we do to sort it ? Ban follow ins ?? Ban for a year anyone caught armouring their car (an automatic ban no having it 'reduced') ... I don't know, but we need feedback to get this sorted and racing back to how it was only five years ago. Have your say in the forum... Please NO made up names, if your a banger driver please use your name & number. Anyone else say who they are and if they are a relative or spectator etc etc.

All photos from Sunday were up by lunch time yesterday.. So have a look, also there are 'silent movies' now too.

OK so there was not a great deal of bangers... (there was only just over 30 bangers at Buxtons Team Meeting) But my word we had plenty of action.. How many Super Bangers got rolled ? How many tried to imatate the Red Arrows ?? It was all very impresive, omly marred by the continued squabbling between Ministox driver parents.. Photos going up soon, the action pix up tomorrow onwards.

REBELYELL - The first two things didn't work.. I will try the third later tonight.. Thanks for your input..

The trackshop had an OK day with the games and stuff, thanks again to everyone who helped out. Theres a line in the SnOrkS StOrE forum regarding the release soon of BURNOUT REVENGE!!!!

There will be a SnOrKs StOrE thing in the track shop tomorrow. Have a look at the site to see prices and what will be there, inc Joypads and memory cards. All in limited quantities, so don't delay. Theres also loadsa photos to buy and a few A4 laminates.. These are donated by myself to help make money for the club.

In the interval on Sunday there will be a demo of a F1 Stock Car driver by Ex-Super Banger Champion # 14 John Riley. So it will be intresting to see how one of these beasts cope with our tiny track..

I had an e-mail this morning saying that there is a caravan up for grabs. Two not so good points are 1: its two weeks after our yearly caravan meeting.. Oh and 2: Its in Wiltshire.. Peter Robinson [peter.robinson8@ntlworld.com] is the guy to contact if your interested.

Indeed it is a racing Sunday, already! Ministox, Super Bangers, Stock Cars and Unlimited Bangers will be all ready to enertain and get slightly damaged! Fingers cross for a dry day, though its going to rain most of the week til raceday :(.... The nights are drawing in now, so drivers check your lights on your trucks and trailors before you set of. PC Plod may well notice you if you don't.

While we were having fun trashing caravans last meeting, the Invaders had taken their families on 'holiday' for the weekend.. Only thing was the 'holiday' was a camping weekend at Prestatyn Raceway.. In typical fashion, the lads took a few cars and they had a virgin (erm rookie) driver too (thats an in joke which will make sense when you read the report for caravan meeting on Sunday!).. All was going quite well. Until Mr Rookies (Alan Quinn) got span and stuck in the mud. he was getting free and had just turned round when a Team Paddy car blitzed him BIG TIME.. A finger was shortened and his car was totally mullered, Keith (scar tum) Flynn got a revenge hit, but the damage was done.

In Alans own words "start of the day invader team boss paul woods strested to myself and the other Invader drivers that the was not be any following as the other drivers cars were in paul opinion so badly made some body may be seriously heart or killed ( i e some of the cars still had dashboards in and radiaters in car and petrol tanks in the back of the cars with them also one car still had its full stereo in and playing it on the start line ). At the drivers meeting it was stressed that ther would be no following in at all or you would be banned for good.
the race had started well for me 2 or 3 small hits from behind but still gowing forward then i am the race leader from the 3 lap on the 5 lap still leading race i got a bit wide in to one of the bends and a car got up my inside and spun me out in to the wall but with being a mud track i was caught in hill of mud up against the barrier so i had to reverse then the white mazda aimed straight for me with and drove thru me keith flynn seen it and followed him in and then demo followed him in"

So that was that then .. But hell no (this gripes me after the problems we have had this season.)

Alan continues "also like to add that all the marshels never had a knife or a pair of pinchers... the St Johns Ambo did not have a clue wot to do only for paul taking charge of the scene and telling everybody wot to do i think i would of been ther all day one of ther marshells taking the petrol tank out threw petroll all over me...."

So drivers don't ever moan about our St Johns (who are generally very good) and our marshals.. If you do we will send you to race at Prestatyn THEN YOU WILL BE SORRY!

The dates for 2006 sesaon. MMV - 26th March . Then meetings on 16th & 30th April. 14th & 28 May. 11th & 25th June. 9th & 23rd July. 6th & 27th Aug. 10th & 24th Sept. 8th & 22nd Oct and 27th December (a Wednesday). These dates are not confirmed yet and Metal Mania has been moved to end of March due to extensive track repairs during the closed season.
