Right then the site I designed in 0.01 of a day.

Junior Bangers are racing on Sunday, not sure of numbers yet, but I'm getting e-mails regarding a few cars & drivers and its looking good already!.

I now sell lead subsitute via work, so if anyone is intrested on enuff to treat 150 LTRS, let me know :)

It seems there was a track day yesterday, Im not sure what was done, or who went, but thanks to you all. (I couldn't go do to (another) family crisis!!)

Life just got silly busy, I had to write the report for Oval racing News, design a website for work, type up chairmans notes & my notes for next program and work, not forgetting last nights, long, committee meeting.

Members of Warton Stock Car Club are the ONLY people, over 10 years old, allowed in for free.

Apperance money will be paid on May 1st.

MINISTOX Your car MUST HAVE the weighing hooks in order to be weighed at next meeting, as described in the rule book. Any car that cannot be weighed using the hooks, will not be allowed to race. Also there will be a clamp down on under weight minis, remember that you must follow the rule book to increase the weight of the car, you have just under four weeks to sort it out, note this only applies to a select few minis, and you know who you are.

FREE CARAVANS I have been told of three free caravans in the Melling area. There are two 10' and one 12'. They are ideal for our summer caravan race, but must be collected ASAP. 015242 74375 for further details.

The 1800cc Team Meeting is not far off and you need to book in if your planning to race, telephone Val on 01524 858301 ASAP. I will set up a Team Meeting page when a booking in list arrives.

I still have another 50 photos to post up yet, as well as SnOrKyfing the report. Hopefully it will be up by close of play tonight.

What an awesome day, great racing in all the classes. A few good jackings in the bangers, with big air.. A massive grind from Oggy, who ended up ON the out wall and thrills & spills in the Ministox, Stock Cars ans Super Bangers.. Some really tight/close racing too, and the weather wasnt as bd as it is now...

First 100 digital photos going up soon, with the action pix going up from tomorrow onwards.

A big thank you to everyone of you, who put money into the collection for Gerald & John (Injured at MMIV), Gerald has started walking, with the aid of a frame (I think he would preffer the thing used to kill the Queen Alien in Aliens). When I get a total of cash raised I will tell you!

I have heard rumors about which banger drivers will be racing on Sunday, tho sadly the Bears are unable to make the trip, thou there may well be a Bear related presence on the day..

It was nice to see a few new faces winning races, in all classes, last meeting, lets hope that carries on, we don't want it to get like F1 Grand Prix racing when Shuey wins all the time, tho hes had a bad start this season lol

I have been throwing myself into my work, hence the lack of updates, mind you its been very quiet and I would have had little to update with .. I Have been working all over North West from Carlise, Penrith to Bury & Bolton.. Yer gotta laff.. Dunno why tho.

A very busy committee meeting after a few incidents last race meeting. There are a few important points for everyone to take note of, and they are..

ANY MINISTOX that, when weighed, is under 712KG (as specified in the Rule 99e) WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO RACE. No exceptions.

If a driver fails to go to the drivers meeting, they will not race.

Banger drivers.. You must a) Have your roof colour clearly painted on the car and b) line up in the correct roof colour section prior to the race commencing.

There were other matters concerning various drivers and these drivers will be notified of the outcome in due time.

All my photos are up from yesterday. Though my cameras decided not to work properly toward the end of the day! They are still drying out.

News on John is that on the way to an hospital visit, his wife twisted he ankle and broke her foot. She has to be in plaster for at least six weeks... (it nerr rains but it pours)

Gerald seems to be getting better slowly, visiting is still restricted to close family. He is very upbeat though, and despite two broken legs, keeps trying to get out of bed...

I need a team for the banger Team meeting... anyone will be great, so if your intrested and don't mind the Team Curse, then contact me.. ta.

Well what a good days racing, only let down by the rather rubbish weather, mind you its Easter in the UK so what were we to expect!. Class racing throughout the field today with a great spat between the Brothers Wrennal in the Stock Cars, all the kids in the Ministox (best wishes to Darrell Shaw who was injured in an head on), the Supers were Super, with unregular winners and contraversy in the Grand National, also a good turn out of bangers, despite a bit of rodding, there were some corking hits and even a roll. Yes it was a good season starter.... Just a shame it were wet, very wet!

Its all systems go for tommorrows meeting at WArton Stock Car Club, however things are not so rosey over the Pennines.

Startrax deeply regret having to announce the cancellation of oval racing at Owlerton Stadium on Sunday 27th March, as the letter from the stadium owners below refers, the decision was in the major part outside Startrax control. However , given the extreme and unusual circumstances prevailling with regard the problem we believe for the long term of both stock cars and speedway and integrety that we have a duty to be responsinle for our paying spectators, drivers and speedway fans and riders in the longer term. The cause of the problem which was only identified on Monday 21st March but may well have been a significant factor in the track being very soft and cutting up the end of 2004, its major drainage pipe from hospitality units being broken in a concealed position. Over many months it is now apparant this has been draining into the sub-base of the track. There is absolute certainty that given this current problem, running cars at this tim would be irresposible in so much as major track damage is both forseeable and certain which would be both costly to stock cars and significantly prejudice speedway. A decision to run against may also prejudice the entire future of stock car racing at Owlerton in the future. the stadium plan to start work on Friday 25th March digging out the affected area to ensure that the issues are resolved for both speedway next week and stock car racing as planned for Monday 2nd May.
We deeply regret this decision but look to drivers and fans to coninue supporting us in the future and hope you too agree that this is a responsible decision on our part. We hope, in the interim, you will come along to Belle Vue on Holiday Monday at 6pm to enjoy a terrific night Stock Car and Banger racing entertainment.

Geralds family have asked everyone to STOP visiting him in hospital. All the visits are taking a lot out of our recovering Vice-Chairman. Everyone is made up that you all care so much and make the effort visiting him, but the Doctors have said that he will recover quicker with fewer visitors. So for the time being, they have requested FAMILY ONLY... Thank you in advance.

Today at the track the Pit Gate entrance has been near enough finished, the commentary box has had a lick of paint and the Malcolms gate has had a modifacation made to it too. The track wall has been painted AGAIN... Thanks to all who turned up, apart from the regulars, that included the Jones and Angus & his family..

Barra today was very supportive of warton's re run of Metal Mania inc three mentions, wishing Gerald & John the best for speedy recoveries. Thanks for that.. Its a shame that out our Saint let Warton down, by doing well in the Minisiox and even winning... HOW RUDE!!!!

Metal Mania IV is to be run this year, despite the accident at the last attempt, it has been decided, by the new forward looking committee, to reschedule the meeting to the 17th April. ALL OTHER CLASSES WILL RACE AS NORMAL. Prize money will be offered, as before (amount to be confirmed), though it is being run as a Fund Raiser for Gerald & John, the two most seriously hurt in the incident on 6th March. To book in, please contact Val and e-mail me.. A new booking in list will go up and we hope for a good turn out of bangers. Ministox, Super Bangers and Stock Cars will also race, it will be a long day, but there is a prize for the winner of the Banger Final...

Other points of note from tonight's meeting include:

Points have been declared void from the single Ministox race at the last MMIV..

Graham Hayhurst is to be the ACTING Vice Chairman while Gerald recovers in hospital (Gerald will be reinstated when he is fit & well)

Gerald is out of intensive care and in a private room on a ward, I heard about this yesterday, but only via the grapevine, but it has been confirmed tonight!! This does not mean he's well and ready to come home yet, though it is a positive move. Also there are still only family visitors requested to visit him at the moment.

John is hoping to go back home tomorrow and progressing well..

EPVideos has had a revamp on its website and now has a good few Warton Clips for you to enjoy.

Latest from Gerald is quite of a bit improved, he is not sure what happened to him as yet. He is doing quite well. Out of danger from injuries from last week. Hoping to get him on a normal ward soon(ish).

Again today Gerald has had 'quite a bit of improvement' and has been asking to see members of his family by name. Hopefully things have turned the corner now, another update will follow on Sunday night.

John too is getting slightly better and, las I heard, may be well enough to return home next week sometime.

Good news today, sorry about the very late update (personal problems) I got a call mid afternoon saying that Gerald had woken up and was asking who was looking after his dog..... Which in my book is a good sign. More news tomorrow.

Right then First the good news....

After an inspection by health & safety its all go for Easter Sundays meeting. The Police and H&S have concluded it was an accident that couldnt have been predicted or prevented.

Now an update on the guys, most seriously, injured.

John has had an op on his leg and we wish him all the best.

Gerald is in hospital and has had a few ops and again we wish him and his family & friends well.

I am also more than a tad frustrated at the local media, from loacl radio to itv teletext, who all have reported the incident in a way which was not true.. (prepare for a mini rant)

FACT 1 : The car DID NOT plough into the crowd.
FACT 2 : The driver was NOT INJURED in any way.
FACT 3 : The air ambulance/police helecopter did NOT take anyone to hospital.
FACT 4 : The injured were taken to Lancaster Infirmary NOT PRESTON.
FACT 5 : The car involved in the accident was a BANGER NOT A STOCK CAR.....NOT RENFORCED AND NO MODIFIED ENGINE!!
FACT 6 : Norman, our leader, was NOT directly involved in the accident, he was taken ill by the shock of it.
FACT 7 : Oh and its WARTON STOCK CAR CLUB NOT WHARTON STOCK CAR CLUB!!! grrrr

Rant over, I had an e-mail waiting for me when I got home from a BBC Northwest Tonight reporter, who had bothered to contact me to try and get to the truth of what actually occured, he too sent his best wishes to all those involved, though the story will not run tonight, least I don't think so now, he's moved on to another story.

Oh and I have been sent a clip, from EPVideo showing what happened, it was all very quick and I cannot see how anyone can be blamed for the accident, its just one of those million to one things.. I hope Donkey is feeling better in himself and hope to see him back at Warton sooner rather than later.

Please do NOT ring the hossie about Gerald as its clogging up the internal phone network and causing major hassle in the hospital. I have set up a close family friend to relay all information on Geralds' condition on a daily basis. This will be first hand info, not contaminiated with chinese whispers.. I thank you.

NEWS UPDATE ON INCIDENT TODAY AT MMIV.

John has broke his leg, Norman has been sent home and Gerald is undergoing tests and the like.

The practice day next Sunday is cancelled and everything else is on hold until I know any different.

Anybody attending today, keep your tickets as you will get free admitance at next meeting.

Thanks to everyone who turned up today, from near and far, it was looking like a classic meeting. Also a big thank you those those who offered help after the incident. I will post more info as and when I get it.
