Bought 21/06/04
Way back when I was a nipper... Well 30, I played a demo of a game called Driver. I was hooked,
and bought both Driver and Driver 2, games which I hammered and loved.
Then I hear that the is a Driver 3 coming out, bare in mind I have been playing GTA 3 and GTA
Vice City since. Low and behold I see it on the shelf for sale, but wait, there has been NO playable
demo and it has ATARI written on the box... Things are not boding well. But I take the plunge
give the woman £35 and rush home. I load it up on the XBox and watch the intro.. I notice it judders
and skips a little... I start to panic... Surely the game will be better!
I load my profile in, 'snork', and watch the start of the story... I notice a famous named actor
is involved, and ERM Alice Cooper!!! At last I start the game. The graphics seem OK, but I'm in
my apartment and have to find my car.... OOOHHHH MMMMYYYYY GOOODDDDD!!!! The control as you walk
around is CRASS.... Eventually you find the car, a Mustang.. Thank goodness for that. ERM no..
It controls like its on a skid pan, slides all over the place... WORSE STILL!!! There is massive
pop-up (where buildings, people, trees and everything else, just apear in view at very short
notice)..... I am now depressed. I switch off
the XBox after wandering around the Police Station and having ago on the firing range... I
now think I should have waited for the next GTA or Halo 2, though I'm getting both of them
anyway !

SECOND SESSION:
OK day two.. I try again to see if this game is any good. Well its not as bad as I first thought, you
can use various boats around the place and the cars do get more controllable the more you drive
them. The pop-up is infuriating and the graphics look like, at times, they are from the PSOne..
I'm still disappointed, but as much as I was last night. The control when on foot is very annoying
though, and shooting the bad/good guys is tricky. The rating remains unchanged yet though.
TWO WEEKS IN
Right I have tried so hard to like this game... But I cant, its bugged to hell, walk on walkways on
houses and it dissapears and you fall half way down and the game locks up. Drive to fast too close
to corners of buldings, quays (if your in a boat) and hills/mountains, it freezes the game.
To sum up. THERE SHOULD BE A LAW OUT TO STOP COMPANYS RELEASING GAMES THAT ARE SO UNFINISHED
on an ususpecting public... Buy this??? If you do your only supporting a company that really does
not deserve your support or money!
