Lordy I had a three man team and new we'd do well, as long as none of the biased scoring came
in to play. I needn't have worried though... IT DID!.
Heat one and early on a red flag was thrown to recover #207 Chris Yeates from his mangled
Audi (Vor Sprung Durge Knackered - as we say at Warton). Chris had been followed in, big time,
by one of TNT. #41 Dan 'Scarface' Steele was spun & t-boned. Dan was miffed & took it out
on #48 Kev 'Scouse' Chadwick, then Dan took out #120 Darrell Wall from Bad Newz.
Heat two and RAM RAM, of my Team, was told to leave the track, before the race started, all because his
harness was not safe... I mean what was going on! So I was left with BAM BAM and Fat Daz, who
heroically came out as back up for his team mate. #340 Jon 'Trev' Atkinson had some nice tin, a
Triumph, he span out #505 of the Invaders. Then Jon, who I always thought was nice, took out BAM BAM,
I was less than impressed.....#514 Allan Woods was span by #97 Baz 'TNT Material' Kitchen. There
was only two cars wasted in this heat, both of them MINE!! You never guess what, we were not given
any points, I mean why not, just cause they did not finish the race.. Its unbelievable... The
good news was Jon had to pull out of the race too, a small amount of justice. Heat Three and tin
of the day came out, a really old Austin, it was well rotten and was only fit for bangering,
#414 Cleggy had an old Cortina and #461 Singy was in a tiny Jap car... and my hero RAM RAM was
out, on his own. The race started and #14 Will 'Butch' Walmsley, #612 Lee Bennett, #651 Dave
'Huggy' Walker all ended up in a pile with one of the Steeles cars. I had to laff, until nasty #550
Dave 'Strippit' Sinclair clobbered RAM RAM. They both carried on & Strippit got RAM RAM again next lap
but he in turn was got by one of DAHMbusters' cars. #510 Alan 'Ghost' Lewis took to the air
for a second, recovered and got back on the track, he was then picked up and launched into the
inner pit wall corner, rolling and ending up on his side. He was OK and the race restarted,
#62 Dave 'Bad Newz' Eccles, span #266 Big Al of Team V. #119 Chip Kitchen, had buried his tin into
the rear of #157 Barry 'Bazza' Greenhalgh of Head bangers. Once again, just cause we did not finish
the heat, we got no points! The next race was heat four... I had no cars in this race, therefore
I was not arsed what happened:) #767 Collin 'Invader' Parr was lucky not to roll after getting
a nasty shove into the inner wall at the far corner. TNT car #511, Steve Scurr, was on top form
and #525 Tony Humphreys was on bottom form, getting squished into the pit corner wall. Allan Woods
won, just cause he was first to get to chequered flag.. I sensed a conspiracy against my team as we
again got no points, just cause we were not in the race!! By now I was getting fed up. We were
put into the B final and my one car was duly, unfairly, destroyed by Baz Kitchen of TNT. RAM RAM's
day was done, as was my hopes of winning! Baz was got by #196 Stevie Horsefeild and he was got by
#414 Cleggy of TNT, who was then got by #501 Basher Kaye. Cleggy's car was well shortened, but
he did not stop, until he was span out. #719 Andy Bell exploded in steam, but he kept going.
Deano Steele made his meeting debut in the A final. There were plenty of cars in this race and
the action was instant and the damage was total, for #62 Dave Eccles, who carried on a lap or two with
three wheels. Big Al went up on another car, Deano got stuck into #318 Wilf Speak. Strippit was
hit by #156 Dave Knight, of TNT B. #69 Peter Dickinson lost a wheel as did #690 Winkie, he reversed
off the track to the pits, with his front wheel hanging limply. #505 of Invaders, had his
rear wheels at 6:20...
STILL TO COME, the DD!!! harr harrr.
The Warton Outlaws were in attendance too, as the support formula, they had a fun day. Heat
one and heat two saw car #55 Billy Robertson go out with his front suspension broke, at
exactly the same part of the track at both times.. #80 Glen Lord, racing in his dads car,
spent most of heat one running on a flat tyre. #377 Steven Murry took the win in heat one
and heat two was taken by #251 Gareth O'Beirne. The Final saw a red flag for a smash that
involved #240 David Lythgoe getting hit head on by two cars after a spin.. #377 took
another win. #80 Jack Lord took a great win in an unfamiliar car in the grand national.
