The UNLIMITED MINIS had a disappointing day, well all except #134 Alex 'MB' Chapman, who won every race again today! Heat one saw #126 Michael Nicholson going on two wheels as he avoided a spun #217 Derek Moon (no relation to Alfie, or Harvey). The second heat saw a big pile up which ended the day for #62 Dave Eccles and the race for #126 Michael Nicholson. #25 Andy Yeats & #125 Wayne Palmer got going again, but lost a lap. Andy had a good day over all though, with a third & a second place and Wayne Palmer came third in final too.
Every meeting there seems to be more SUPER BANGERS and this meetings new tin was a Varley painted Vectra, belonging to #668. It did not set any records, but hey it did not go slow either. #439 Rodder Kellett won every race, except the Grand National where he got an impressive third. There were a few spins in heat one, but things hotted up in the second heat. #100 Ann Potts was racing like a possessed woman and took the lead off Rodder, Rodder got the lead back and as Ann overtook a back marker, she was hit and both cars went off... Who was this idiot who had ended Ann's day??? Only her brother #200 David Rainford, the air was blue with sibling love... well it was blue with something anyway:) #944 Tam Cavanagh and #964 Anthony Whittaker, both went out after a smash in the final. The grand national saw a great scrap betwixed #9 Phil Varley and #351 Tut Knowles. They kept nudging past each other, on the final straight Tut put his foot on the brake and was pushed over the line, but not before another car had snook past and gain both the places. #802 Graeme Black, ended a good day with a win in the last race.
I was talking to #80 Glen Lord regarding the fact that I don't seem to write much about the OUTLAW STOCK CARS, this was BEFORE the drivers meeting.. I said that there was only so many times you can say so and so passed so and so for a win, or whatever.. I said the more action the more I'll write... Well here is a LONG Outlaw report! Heat one, had to be restarted after #31 Ian Whitlow span on the pit bend and had a wheel ripped off, it rolled down to the far corner. soon into the second start we had a roll of #112 Brian Miller, who had got under #85 Stuart Tydesley. Brian was OK, though is car was not. Another pile up then ended the race and Hoss Nelsons car caught fire. #4 Billy Parkinson took the win. Heat two... A major pile up on the pit straight. Most cars restarted but #911 was blacked flagged cause his bumper was hanging off after hitting #80 Glen Lords car in the accident. #5 Jonathan Clarkson took the victory and was followed by #65 Nathan Lawson and #330 Mick Greenwood. Glen span out of the consolidation race and #912 Les Helme went onto the infield. #4 Billy Parkinson took another win with #377 Steven Murry second and #300 third. It was not Glen Lords day as he went out of the final after hitting the outer wall, causing him some discomfort. That was on the last lap after a great race and some awesome overtaking moves from various drivers, and some hard knocks to boot! #5 Jonathan won again #377 got second. There was NO Grand National as 'most of the drivers have gone home' Carl said over the PA.
The BANGERS had an upside down day, despite non of them rolling! #515 Thomas Invader was in his FIRST EVER Unlimited meeting and had an head on in heat one. the heat was a bit of a rod fest, though #514 Paul Woods had an impressive Grannie Limo, he pulled out on last bend. #818 Craig Tucker, looked a right looker as he was left in a heap on far corner and was joined by #79. #61 took the win with #510 Alan Lewis second with #41 Dan Steele on his tail in a tatty Jag. Heat two was MORE of a rod fest. Though #512 Allan 'madman' Woods did not care as he bashed & smashed his was around in an old Tina, that had been built years ago and forgotten about, it had grass growing inside and a birds nest in the engine! #431 Deano Steele also gave us action but as it was a mainly TNT field, there was not much else going on. #511 Steve Scurr won, #119 Chip Kitchen second and Deano third. Things got interesting in the Consolidation, A massive pile up on the start/finish straight, everyone got stuck in. #515 Invader Tom stalled and wanted a push to get going, team mate #512 Allan Woods, ignored the stricken car for a few laps, he was one of only two cars still going so seeing Tom he went towards him, he slowed, a little, and JACKED Tom. That said Allan still carried on and took the win and 1 other car also finished, just. You will never guess who that was..... wait for it....... nope I'm going to say..... Ok then it was FAT DAZ.. YES 1/2 LAP DAZ! The guy who likes not finishing, the guy who did so BADLY when racing for me at the Team Meeting!!! FAT DAZ!!!! He got a trophy and everything.. FAT DAZ!!!! Sadly he was Jacked into the middle of next week in the final onto the pit gate. That was after a restart when #61 had to be rescued from his car after another big hit. #510 Alan Lewis took the win, Dan Steele second and #511 Steve Scurr third! Dan Steele kicked ass in the DD, mullering BAM BAM, BONES and #767. He then had a great head on with #507 to end the bangers day.
The F2's were in fine form and saw the debut of #299 Ste 'Warton unlimited mini champion
#44' Smith. He span twice in heat one but still did well. In heat two Ste was shown the underside
of an F2 car as he was mounted, from behind, and span out. There were other cars clambering over
each other, but mostly they carried on regardless. the final saw a restart after a driver was
injured in a tangle. Cars #590 and #910 lost wheels on the far corner and #251 went out in another
pile up. The grand national was a clean race, though #589 hit far corner very hard & went out of the race.
The results were:
Heat 1: #881 : #271 : #590
Heat 2: #60 : #271 : #590
Final: #271 : #60 : #79
Grand National: #60 :#725 : #154
And as I always say, That was that :) A much better meeting than the last one, but the next meeting features METROS & JUNIOR BANGERS! :)
