The weather did everything but snow, the track went from perfect to skating rink and back to perfect. It was an odd day.

The MINISTOX were first out and the red flag was thrown after a bad smash and injury comittee member John Ball, he was whisked away in an air ambulance after a nasty break to his ankle (compound). #16 Thomas Hall had gone straight on at the pit bend exit, into the pit gate, which opened slightly and caught Johns leg under it, breaking it in two places. Thomas was shaken up and did not race again this meeting, but I hope he does race soon, as the longer you wait the harder it gets to get back in the car. There was a virgin racer, #28 Michael, he had a quiet day and stayed out of trouble, which is an excellent start. There was a massive field of 19 cars, yes I said n-n-nn-nn-nineteen... #223 Josie Schofeild had an up and down day, well more down than up really.. Though she won heat one, in heat two her front wheel was ripped off, that said young James Newby, #308, destroyed his engine, and when I say destroyed I mean completely totalled it. Oil and bits all over the track, it was very funny, well for me as I dont have to pay for a new engine:) #93 Sam Twist gad a spin in the Final, causing a red flag while his car was shifted, #492 Dan Hurst span in a big way and ripped off his rear axel mounting, though it stayed with the car as its fed trough the roll cage. When Dan tried to move away, his car bunny hopped like mad, I was really laffing, then again I don't have to pay to get it fixed :) Talking of expense, #555 Martin Yeats tried to destroy his ministox in the pit bend with a huge hit, that said he may have wanted another air ambulance ride like this time last year. The Grand National saw the spat of the day as Martin Yeates and #811 Richard Parker and #3 Shaun 'Saint' Twist tussled lap after lap, nudging, passing and doing it all over again. Saint lost his bonnet, his car seemed to go faster then!

THE MINISTOX RESULTS ARE

Next up are the Warton Stock Cars Glen Lords car was there, but no Glen, it now belongs to #345 Richard Pass. He went hard on infeild avoiding an incident in heat one, the same heat that #54 Norman Robinson and #102 Dean Simpson got in a tangle.. There was not as many cars than at recent meetings, #54 Norman Robinson managed to spin again in heat two and #912 went out on pit bend. Three cars piled out of the final in the pit bend, and the rest of the final was extraemly close, nudge and pass racing. The Grand National saw a supurb show from #251 Gareth O'Beirne, #911 Peter Kaulbrarsch and a certain #5 Jonathan Clarkson, ending on the last corner..

The Unlimited Minis had a poor turnout today as did the Super Bangers. TMK's Les Gore is trying to keep the Unlimited Minis going, by racing a brand new Unlimited Metro. #44 Ste Smith was racing his F2 at another track so the glory was shared between #134 Alex Chapman, #62 David Eccles and #25 Andy Yeats. The highlights of the day was #125 doing Super Slides around the far corner, just cause of a bit of oil and water, some people really. The Final was fantastic race from David and Andy, indeed it was a day of close racing. the Supers had a really bad day. Heat one and eight started, five finished! Another spat on the first corner on heat two and seven cars battled for honors in the final. The Grand National passed by without any incidents either....so the results for these are...

Buxtons very own Hot Fords paid us a visit, and for the most part we saw the usual clean close racing, that said heat two saw the track at its slippiest... The cars had to crawl round the bends so not to slide into each other, or the wall. #279 ended up dragging his rear bumper around after the track after a rear end inspection from a mate..

THE HOT ROD RESULTS
Heat one: 72 59 58 120 7 9 39
Heat two: 72 7 279 120 121 9 87 141
Final: 72 59 48 141 9 39 279 7

The Banger side of things was, well odd, as the Invader Hearse came onto the track, it started to absolutley pour down with rain, only stopping at the end of the heat (spooky). that said there was plenty going on. Heat one and Dan Steele was on a flyer, talking out a good few cars and seemed to be back on top form. Though the hits didn't seem as hard as a normal meeting. Heat two was the herase heat, taking the Invader driver total to 12 for the day. #512 Allan Woods was rammed hard onto the inner wall, by fellow Invader #507 James Joyce, #767, another Invader, kept up at bashaing and mashing everyone he came accross, other than other Invaders of course, he also went on to win the heat, in a very impressive drive! In the consolidation race, #416 Angus was having a laugh in the slippy conditions, I swear you could almost hear him. Bad Newz driver #170 was being picked on by TNT's Fatboy, but that was nothing to what Invader #500, bluey, did to one of his enemies, Bluey went under him and lifted hm off the ground in the final. It did seem to turn to a bit of a rod fest, but #880 Anthony Kerr and #287 Paul Brisco, might just argue about that! We were also treated to a bizzarely bent Estate of band Newz driver #170. It had collasped at the rear and looked not unlike a VW Beetlte from the rear! The Invaders did a lap of honour and we waited for the next banger race. It was the bangers mechanics, won by Dan Steele, who had totally wasted a certian scouser into the pit bend wall (I told Kevin Chadwick I wasnt going to mention that, ooops). The DD was one of the longest in history, including the long Robin DDs we have seen in the past. It soon went down to the last two drivers, Dan Steele and Invader #57, it was a game of cat & mouse with a few laps of non contact, then a scrap up close, another few laps and so on. Highlights included a head on and Dan almost getting rolled when #57 managed to get under him a little. Eventually #57 gave up the ghost and Dan was decleared the winner, but both drivers got a well deserved cheer from the die hard fans that had remained to the bitter end! THE BANGER RESULTS
Heat one: 510 514 157 41 68 500
Heat two: 767 516 491 286 880 247 57

Final: 516 157 416 41 61
Banger Mechanics: 41
Demo Derby: 41
All in all a good day. Robins are back next time though :)
