So back to Warton for some fun were we?? Well TMK were not.. Nope only nice Mark showed up
and he had got no car.. Team V were also absent, without a note? Go to the chairman!. Good to see
the Invaders back, with three used motors, but as the bangers were a bit thin on the ground, they
were more than welcome. The weather was cool and damp, it rained all day but only about four
drops.. Well I never got wet anyway..
There was some guy wandering around the pit area offering free photos of drivers with their cars
all you had to do was go to his website and leave your name and address in his guestbook.. yeah right,
then they come round and rob you ??? Mick had no idea who he was or where he was from (remember
there is never anything for nothing in this world)
We also had a new video man, he spent ages walking around the track interviewing drivers and
officials.. He seemed a decent sort of guy, his videos are £13 each and can be ordered via his
website. www.bvs-videoproduction.co.uk
But what happened ? Well....
MiniStox Heat ONE had 13 cars out.. 308 James Newby was back, after last meetings roll,
but not surprisingly he took it easy all day, infact I don't think he started this heat.
999 Darrell Shaw went out early too and a great win was taken by (a smiling) 343 Lee "see I can
smile" Wrennall.. 101 James "temper" Hayhurst got second and 555 Martin "look how tall I am now"
Yeates third in his low-rider motor :)
Bangers Heat ONE Only 11 bangers in this heat, but what a showcase for young Rick Ball.
He drove like a pro, or a Steele, gently nudging everyone out of the way and getting little/no
damage to his Jag. He even overtook Dan Steele on the Start/finish straight.. 394 Andrew Thompson
got span out and 125 Wayne Palmer got splattered into the pit gate. Rick took the win with
69 Mark "smelly" Bass second and 41 Dan Steele third.
Only 9 in the Unlimited Minis Heat ONE 309 Angela Fryer was removed from the race after
a big spat, 62 Dave Eccles got airborne and landed on Angela.. 134 Alex Chapman had a nice new
car, looked very similar to the last, he got span out by David Eccles.. Hmmm Dave again ??
scratches stubbly chin.. Anyway Ste Smith 44 took the win with Dave second and 26 Shaun Yeats third
Super Bangers Heat ONEhad a 17 car field. 100 Ann Potts had a new car, which hubby had neglected to get ready for the last
meeting. Mark from TMK seemed to linger around this part of the pits most of the day...What's Ann's
daughters' name again ?? ;-) 14 John Riley had a new front end on his car, I was amazed he was
back so soon after that terrible crash last meeting. Ann was span out early in the race and had
to abandon the car in the track. 772 Alan "no relation to Andrew??" Molloy made a remarkable
recovery after almost being spun out by a charging 802 Graeme Black.. 57 Steven Hardy took the
win in his Escort with 14 John Riley an impressive second and 22 Anthony Kenny making up the top
3
Stock Cars Heat ONE 16 cars and a great race again.. 295 Dean Dewhurst lost a wheel after they found out that
three cars don't go into a space for two. The missing tyre must have had a homing device in it
as it rolled up to and rested against the stricken Stock Car. 117 & 39 also did not finish, as
did 5 Jonathan Clarkson with a kaput engine. 377 Steven Murry won, 911 Peter Kaulbarsch second
and 107 John Baron got third place.
MiniStox Heat TWO 11 cars out for this heat and another wheel fell off, this time it was
555 Martin "I'm gonna be the worlds tallest man" Yeates.. 18 Andrew "Alan's son ??" Molloy got
span out, 101 James "nasty boy" Hayhurst got to the third to last lap in the lead and got stuck
in backmarkers and gained a puncture, Smiler came through to take the win with 116 Chris Turner
in tow leaving James in third place.
Bangers Heat TWO All three Invaders were out and as the race began we were treated some
some smashing (pun intended) action :) Cleggy got loaded up after being seen splatting tree cars
on the pit corner, this spread out the field and a rod fest ensued.. Until 115Lawrence Morrell
got hit and ended up almost on top of the pit straight marshal's post :) 224 Michael "Champion" Ross
took the win miffing off Batty of Invaders who tried to at least scratch Michael's winning car,
but only succeeded in spinning himself out.. He's Batty that one :)
Unlimited Mini Heat TWO Only seven laps as there was only 8 cars. 44 Ste Smith stormed to
the lead on the first corner!! But he span out and lost a lap in the damp, greasy conditions.
That said he did better than 207 Chris (look at my bumfluff) Yeats who failed even to start.
It was a 1-2 for the Yeats' 25 Andy first Shaun 26 second, 62 David "schmokin" Eccles got third
Supers Heat TWO 18 cars meant there would be tangles.. and boy was there... 21 Simon Varley
having a reshaped front end after spinning in a massive collection of cars, and getting hit head
on, by 57 Steven Hardy.. He continued after turning his car around. Sinkboy, the yellow Sierra with
a sink on the roof, one on the front of his car and a pissed monkey in the back window, wondered
why his wheel was hanging off :) ERM that's called a racing incident that is :) 274 David Christopher
won with 244 Martin Makim second and 673 Warren Harwood following.
Stock Cars Heat TWO15 cars gave us a really close race, tho a few fell off, including 211 and 65 Nathan Lawson who
pull off in the middle of the track (dirty b*stard). 38 Chris Alderson won, 911 Peter Kaulbarsch second and
4 Billy Parkinson third
After the break we were back for the MiniStox Final 161 Nicholas Isle-Heardman had a
torrid race, he was t-boned, span and span again( I was told it was cause his suspension was too loose
on his rear- my rear would have been bricking it to be honest) 3 Shaun Twist forgot to twist round
a bend and hit it head on, he continued, spunky little chaps these lot, infact the lead was decided
by only a few seconds, 116 Chris Turner,343 Lee "Smiler" Wrenall and 555 Martin "wheel back on my car" Yeats third
Supers FINAL 17 started and 180 Stewart Penswick sat it out on the far corner.. 802 Graeme "Mysteron
supporter" Black had an early shower, unfortunately it was red hot steam and he was in his car still
he got out and shook himself down :) Sinkboy too had a steam sauna but the big news was a
win for 14 John Riley, after that smash last time, well done mate :)
Banger FINAL I used a full film on this race!! Plus more for the wrecks :) Dan Steele was like
a whirling dervish.. He was blazing all over the track, spinning getting started again and spinning
again, he was punted by a TNT car whom then he kept driving into over and over again, tho he tried
to make it look like he was turning his car around :) He then stuffed 512 into the wall and was
very entertaining to watch, the win was left for 224 Michael "camphene" Ross again
Unlimited FINAL 44 Ste Smith had a loose rear and kept spinning all over the place He pulled out of
the race. 309 Angela Fryer did a copycat crash to 110 last time out. 127 ended up next to her, in
sympathy I think :)
14 in the Stock Car FINAL A good clean fast race this. only 911 Peter Kaulbarsch & 295
Dean Dewhurst failed to finish. The result was 4 Billy Parkinson, 38 Chris Alderson and 107 John Baron
ending a baron spell in his racing career:)
MiniStox Grand National116 Chris Turner started first, which means he was last!! 18 Andrew "loose nuts"
Molloy lost a wheel and it took three blokes to lift his car onto the tractor spike. 343 Lee Wrenall came first
555 Martin Yeats second and 116 Chris Turner earned double points by grabbing third!
Super Bangers Grand National 53 Dave "sinkboy" Cuthbert thought he was back in bangers as he
mullered the rear of 274 David Christopher on the start/finish line, to be fair Dave had stopped and
Dave was blind sighted and just ploughed in :) 22 Anthony Kenny won, 14 John "super driver" Riley
got second, with double points and 57 Steven "Escort" Hardy third :)
Stock Car Grand National 12 cars and good racing, no big incidents but a good win for 377 Steven Murry
with 38 Chris Alderson second and 251 Gareth "no pop idol jokes please" third
DD This was even funnier than last time. Dan was asleep, I think< and didn't move as the other
three cars piled into him after the green flag had waved :) He got going and just drove off.
512 Mr Invader Woods got creamed into the wall by a very fast Jag driven by Smelly. Tho I think it
was in fact Snapper and I writ it wrong:( A chase ensued with the Jag, Dan and the other
remaining car. It was a repeat performance from the last DD.. Eventually it was the Jag and Dan left.
Dan got the Jag and just kept hitting it, reversing and hitting it again, he must have done it
five or six times.. I loved it :)))
What a great day it was.. TMK?? who needs them , there is plenty of action from the Supers and Stocks, and
as long as the Steeles, Team V and Invaders turn up you get great banger racing :)
