So here goes.. At last I here you say, thanks for being patient....
This was a ruddy good meeting, one of the best this season... The weather was great, I came home with a red face & arms!!

The Juniors were in Bangers and we had a few novice racers, out of the 24 starters, the one I spoke to was young Shaun, # 415, he had driven twice before, on car parks on Saturdays, and was thrust into the world of racing, in a Mark 2 Escort, which was my first car too:). Shaun did well despite his lack of experience, dare I say better than his dad did in his first banger race? Shaun did a hit on a stuck car in heat one and got span out later in heat two and again in the final, it was a hard hit from #343 Lee Wrennall... Shaun was a bit upset, but was well enough to pose for a photo of his wreck.. and when I say pose, I mean pose! The others had a good day too. Well when I say good I mean mixed! In heat one #24 went out after going into the wall. #101 Jimbob Hayhurst took the win with #18 Andy Molloy and #138 following. Heat two saw a red flag after #285 was hurt in a hard knock #401 Jennifer Hayhurst took a look a the inner kerb and #500 did an impressive hit on #24. The win was Andy Molloy's, the final was won by #500, a young Invader, #283 did an impressive hit & took himself out too in the process, by launching himself onto the inner wall. Andy Molloy was span a bit and #343 Lee Wrennall went out with a flat tyre! A FLAT TYRE!!! Come on mate, drive like a man..: Best turned out car of THE DAY, not just Jnr Bangers, was #711 from Buxton, nice paint job girl.

The Warton Stock Cars had a new driver, #134 Alex 'Unlimited mini' Chapman He did well and stayed out of trouble, and by the end of HEAT ONE was driving like a pro.. #85 Stuart Tydesley lost two laps in heat one after taking to the air after a minor tangle. #102 Dean Simpson won and #218 Will Ball came second. There was a waved yellow after #377 Steven Murry and #65 Nathan Lawson got together in a dangerous place (corner exit). Mind you they weren't the first to crash in this heat.. no no no That honour went to #38 Chris Alderson and #911 Peter Kaulbarsch.. #102 Dean Simpson won again and #5 Jonathan Clarkson was second with #218 Will Ball third. The final was awesome and I mean awesome. Close racing and crashes, number 5 & 38 got frisky and waved yellows went out the track cleared and #911 and #377 had a frisky moment at the restart. Everyone was OK and rejoined.. #187 Chris Turner went out after going along the outer wall. Will Ball exploded at the race end. #347 Hoss Nelson took the victory. Grand National was quite good, except for #59 Mark Brook, who got beached. and #85 Stuart Tydesley and #38 Chris Alderson pulled out. #5 Jonathan Clarkson won and #102 Dean Simpson second with third going to #377 Steven Murry.

Steve Hardy's car returned in the Super Bangers but with #338 on it!! It did not have a good day, though it did not crash either. Super driver of the day was #439 Jay Kellett, he won everything except the Grand National. Mad Mike,#224, was in a pushy mood all day. #802 Graeme Black went out at the pit corner after an heavy impact on inner wall. The Grand National was won by #182 with #9 Phil Varley and #224 Mad Mike third :)

20 Metros came out in the 10 on 10 Buxton Battle There was a big roll right away for #300 Adrian (Buxton) Topham. He was Ok and racing resumed. There was a battle Royale, but more home drivers finished than Buxton drivers. #149 Paul 'TMK DUCK' Gore won for us with #748, for them, second and #997 Tony 'Buxton' Firth third (Which ain't easy to say). A Bizarre accident in 10 on 10 heat two, caused a red flag, after a heavy hit by #300 Adrian 'Buxton' Topham on #480, Adrian's helmet flew off his head and rolled to the pit bend, he was OK and we restarted. Paul 'DUCK' Gore rolled his Metro on pit straight, again he was ok and survived with only a dizzy spell. The Buxton Boys did better with only #62 'sex god' Eccles finishing for our team, complete with wartononline.com emblazoned on the Metro. #66 Martin 'Buxton' Bowden won with teamate #675 Darren Jackson second & Dave Eccles third, after which he did an head on ... The 10 on 10 final was another great race. Once again we had Duck Roll as Paul Gore gouged his way into the far corner. all eyes were on him, he was, again, OK and walked away, but unseen by most, including myself, there had been an incident on the pit straight. #675 Darren 'Buxton-Wacko' Jackson had been t-boned by TNT boy #298, Ross Nickson, who had been jacked by #997 Tony 'Buxton' Firth who also had been rear ended by #111 of TNT. This wrecked train had hurtled to the infield in a cloud of dust, and as the dust settled it was clear that Wacko Jacko was in some pain. He was, eventually, cut out of his Metro and taken away in the Ambulance, I am pleased to say that he was not too badly hurt and will be racing in the return leg on the 27th July at Buxton. Ross was well gutted, but looking at the other cars that ploughed into Ross, one has to say it was a racing incident and that there was nothing Ross could have done to avoid it. The restart saw the sex god that is Dave Eccles (these are not my thoughts-though he is quite cute!) blast away at the Buxton boys, sadly it was not to be as only two cars finished the race, both of them from them there hills! Don't forget the Return leg at Buxton on the 27th July.

We also had Metro Bangers racing, not teams but under normal rules. Heat one saw Mr Versatile #44 Ste Smith, had a massive roll and end up on top of Miss Creighton's bonnet. Ste was OK.. It was also the FIRST EVER banger race for a certain Mr Benn, he was a hanger on and DE fan some time back and had been brought in to Bad Newz to 'kick ass'. I'm not sure he did, but he was grinning most of the day, but it could have been a nervous twitch. Before Stes big roll he punted out Team V's Mr Lollipop and it was ENO who sent Ste on a flyer the next lap, so forget what I said about no team racing :) #310 Eno took the win too with #880 Anthony Kerr second and #48 Kevin Chadwick third. Heat two was quieter, until #217 Derk 'Bad Newz' Moon had a case of red mist & stupidity and blasted into a pack of cars... only to go clean through then and clobber the inner wall at some speed, putting the pedals of his car almost through his chest. #53 won with #158 Thomas Hollingworth second and third going to #19 Michael Bell. Anthony Kerr won the final after avoiding #44 Ste 'rolling rolling rolling' Smith almost roll again, #839 getting a big jacking from #501 Ste 'Invader again' Kaye and #48 getting wasted on the start finish line. Eno took the DD, but not before Emma's Met was mullered into the far corner, #44 Ste Smith doing #817 big time and also creaming Ste 'Basher' Kaye and having a head on!
Oddest paint job went to #53 Gayboy, who had a whicker basket on his roof and snakes painted on his car... Not sure if he had a one eyed flute, but think he was trying to charm some trouse snakes out for a bit of fun... or not!

Indeed it WAS a classic meeting... The NEXT meeting promises as much action with a 2LTR limit and a hearse like you have never seen before... See you on the 20th July for the Gary Hesp Memorial Meeting....
