MINISTOX
It was all close n tight at the top of the leaderboard in the Ministox and # 101 Jimbob Hayhurst satrted just in front of
his nearest rival, # 16 Posh hall. Jimbob made a good start and soon picked up a good few places, Posh also made up a few places, then it
all went Pete Tong, a spin for # 928 Doddyman and a hit by Stuntman Quinlan, # 232, saw a track blockage start near Malcolms
Gate. then # 140 Samantha Taylor clipped Stunys car and shot over the inner kerb onto the infield.. # 444 Lucy Hyphenated
got trapped in the blockage, rthough she didn't hit any other car, she just got blocked in. All this action brought out
the red flag. Everyone was OK though and Samantha was given a quick check up. The Restart saw a lenghty gap between Jimbob and Posh,
# 3 Saint was span and had a big hit on the start/finish line, he too was OK. By now Jimbob had taken the lead and Posh was running
about 5th. Jimbob finished in front, lengthing the gap between him and Posh. Ministox heat two, # 101 Jimbob got pushed by #
28 Big Willi and # 3 Saint accidentally pushed # 16 Posh Hall out of the championship race by punting him into the far
corner wall, though Posh carried on, he diidn't seem to have the same speed after that. A great wain was there for # 123
Stephen Hogarth. The final, and all seemed lost for Posh taking the championship, the highlight was a great drive by # 3
Saint, who went on to take the victory.. Saints brother, # 93 Lilttle Saint and # 161 Nick Hyphenated watched most of the race
from the infield after engine troubles. Posh was only two places behind Jimbob, but his championship dream was now
over, though fair play to him as he had not resorted to punting Jimbob off the track at the start of the races. The Grand
National saw a very early spin for # 131 Davey Jones in the pit corner. The yellow flags came out after a nasty bump for # 444
Lucy Hyphenated. I have since heard that she was not too badly hurt (which is a great thing). Utter chaos in the restart
with both Jimbob and Posh hitting the pit bend wall hard. Also a spin for Stunty and a nudge from # 928 Doddyman on # 208
Paul Yeates. A big incident for # 285 Thomas Murphy aas he rumbled along the inner kerb. Later he hit Malcolms Gate and needed
attention from the St Johns folks.. # 928 Doddyman went on to take the win!!
SUPER BANGERS
# 100 Peggy Potts was out on first lap after being span by the pursuing pack behind her, the car making the far corner exit
a chcaine. The race was yellow flagged and Peggys car was cleared, as well as car # 19 who stalled in the middle
of the start finish straight. # 18 Andrew Molloy, making a welcome and surprising return to Warton, had a
moment as he was span and took to the air on the infield, he carried on though after collecting his thoughts. Apart from
# 25, Andy Yeats, had a very heavy hit and # 945 ended up in Malcolms Gate. The winner was # 244 Mad Mart, whom I might add, has a
wartononline.com sticker on his car! Curse ? Wot curse, mind you # 8 Daniel Bell, another site supporter, almost sank
under water as he went thorugh a puddle to push # 19 Michael Bell, a relation, off the track. # 100 Peggy Potts into
the wall in the exact same place as in heat one, only this time there were another car involved, # 141 Alan Brown was involved
the accident, though he carried on. Two laps later # 19 Michael Bell got span in the far corner exit and was hit head on by # 802 Capt
Black, the Captian carried on and Mike reversed onto the infield tearing off his sump and ending the former Phil Varley cars
career. The Captain was later mounted by Mad Mike as they entered the pit corner and the win was given too the Mad bloke.
Talking of Mad he also took the win in the Final # 25 Andy Yeats had an heavy spin into the far corner kerb, he carried on though, well for
a couple of laps. Despite only 9 cars racing in the Grand National, there were plenty of incidents, with # 141 Alan Brown
getting wrecked in the pit corner exit and the rain pelting down. The water master # 439 Rodder Kellett took the win.
WARTON STOCK CARS
# 80 Glen Lord took the first heat and # 68 took out # 134 Alex Chapman, shredding Alexs tyre, and # 135 Mick Howarth in a spin
in the pit corner, causing a few other bumps and scrapes, other than that it was a clean close race. The second heat saw a
massive smash for # 911 Peter Kaulbarsch as he seemed to go straight on into the wall at the pit corner, he hit hard and the car left the ground,
thankfukllty he was ok. Heat one winner, # 80 Glen Lord pulled out # 252 Darren Bentham got caught up in # 68 as did a few
others with plenty of spins and the like all over the place. # 65 Nathan Lawson took the victory! In the final and no
major incidents, a great win for # 911 Peter Kaulbarsch had time, on the lst lap, to turn on his flashing roof light to
celebrate his win. As darkness fell, the Stock Car Grand National began, it was very tentative as the track by now was
waterlogged, the tippy toe win went to, # 65 Nathan Lawson.
BANGERS
It was good to see # 431 Danno Steele back at Warton, for the first time in ages, # 41 Dan was also racing. # 516 IKKY, from the Invaders
had a sniff at # 7 Keith, sadly , for IKKY, # 512 Allan Woods, another Invader, was undertaking the pair of them, # 7 span a little and lobed
Allan onto the infield, and high into the air, Allan was travelling so fast his car came back onto the track and ended up in the pit bend wall. Ikky the found himself out on the pit corner
exit. Both on the Invaders managed to restart though and # 514 Paul Woods collected and disposed of a very wrecked # 104 Fat Daz. A
couple of laps later # 611 Dave AWOL Stansfield hit Fat Daz head on. Toward the end of the race # 7 was Jacked by Hardy, though the green Volvo continued on its
way. The win went to the Hillbilly of # 184. The Jag of Sledge, # 545, was creamed in the far corner. A bit of fun before
heat two, as # 501 Basher (Invader) gentally span out Hardy as the cars lined up. Fat Daz was cannon fodder for the pack, spinning
him out early on. # 7 followed in the Jag of # 514 Paul Woods but # 7 was then jacked by Pauls team mate # 501 Basher Kaye.
all three out. The race was a bit of a rod fest after that, with only a few minor
spins. We3ll when I say minor, # got a hevy push by # 41 Dan Steele and was out. The win was # 511 Daddy Scurr, in a disguise
car, white with a Mr Mann on top of it! The Final and an early gental spin for # 7 Keith Greenwood and a self inflicted heavy spin for
# 153, who never restarted. # 514 Paul Woods was T-boned on the Start/finish line. Paul recovered and punted # 111
ended up onto the pit wall, though it wasn't a hard hit, the car bent badly and the driver had to have his leg, wrapped
up as he hobbled into the Ambulance. The restart was a clean affair, # 611 had a spinning time and was punted into Malcolms
Gate right at the end of the race by Hardy. Amazingly # 184 Rick Kenyon, Hillbilly, took the win! The Banger Mechanics saw only four cars
out, three Invaders and one other # 222. # 501 Basher had first bite of # 222 rubbing him round far corner # 222 kept going
and Basher slowed to a crawl, # 222 did a lap and jacked Basher. Not too surprisingly # 512 Allan Woods Jacked # 222 and then
# 514 Paul Woods launched 222 into the air.. Paul was given the win and the DD was started, Allan had only limited movement
and Paul did not take any prisoners.. Paul hit his brothers car over and over again.. Allan kept waving Paul in, it was an awesome sight and great fun.
Eventually Allan got out of his car and the days racing ended.
