Despite the powerboat racing at Barrow and Hednesford team meeting, we still had over 20 cars for all the Warton Classes. The StockKarts had ten and they had more action than last time with spins and nudges galore.

At least three new drivers in the MINISTOX # 601 James Taylor and # 602 Adam Taylor were out along with # 300 Jordan Rainford, who, in heat one, got caught up in someone else's accident and took to the air, landing hard. Jordan was shook up a little, but returned to racing later on in the day. # 140 Samantha Taylor had been nudged and span by # 131 David Jones just before the Jordan incident. # 492 Dan Hurst out with a knackered gearbox. The restart was pretty clean .A really good clean heat two with the top four continuing to vie for the lead, with it changing every lap with a good scrap between # 16 Tom Hall, # 161 Nick Hyphenated, # 101 James Hayhurst and # 3 Shaun Twist.. The action packed # 146 had a nasty spin on far corner, red flag, more red flags for # 444 Lucy Hyphenated after a rear ender on start finish straight. Good battle between # 101 James Hayhurst, # 928 Steve Dodds and # 28 Michael Williamson. The grand national was fairly clean though 602 after a bit of a shunt and 353 early on too.

The SUPER BANGERS and a shock return for last years dominating champion, # 439 Jay Kellett, well when I say shock, I'm lying . He was in Graeme Blacks car for the day, and looked like he was enjoying himself. The main action was elsewhere though today. Heat one and # 141 Alan Brown got sideways on far corner exit, # 25 Andy Yeats, in the Mini, hit him and almost rolled over. Loads of blockages, which cleared, # 18 Andy Molloy was mounted by # 880 Anthony Kerr with # 99 Hugh Copeland spinning a few times. Heat two and Alan Molloy got trapped by a spinning # 356 Paul Anderson, who was span out by # 880 Ant Kerr, who was blacked flagged for that. # 27 Alan Molloy span in front of # 100 Ann Potts. A tight final with Paul Anderson spinning again, # 244 Martin Makim was blacked flagged for pushing. # 964 Anthony Whittaker span, big time. A bit chaotic at the start of the Grand National, as # 19 Michael Bell took to the infield, a big blockage at pit corner, which cleared. # 264 Roland Kelsal out early on into far corner, his car was then rear ended by # 668 Peter Wells, Roland was less than impressed..

The STOCK CARS again over 20 started heat one, however that would be it for a few drivers. # 67 Peter Fawcett & # 523 in tangle on far straight, almost ending in fisty cuffs. A huge pile up at pit bend exit, # 112 Brian Miller hit wall hard after clearing the blockage. heat two and # 65 Nathan Lawson almost wiped out the marshal post on the start finish line and # 34 Leon Jarman and # 911 Peter Kaulbarsch tangled on far straight. The final saw a few spins and flat tyres but # 323 David Riley came through to win in his superb looking new car. # 67 Peter Fawcett was again involved in a tangle, this time in the Grand National by # 347 Hoss Nelson, they both continued though. It was almost a photo finish, with # 251 Gareth O'Bierne taking it from # 65 Nathan Lawson, who showed Gareth two fingers on the slow down lap, must be letting him know he came second.

The BANGERS had a decent turn out of cars, 22, with an hearse, driven by # 62 David Eccles of Bad Newz, and loads of other cars. In fact in the first heat, the marshals post on start finish line was almost demolished as # 53 and # 573 collided and hit it. # 217 Derek Moon was put into the wall by # 512 Allan Woods. # 510 Alan Lewis ended up facing backwards on the infield and Paul Woods, 514, also on the infield next to the far corner marshal post. The hearse was followed in Alan Lewis came out fighting in the second heat and # 416 John Haggas was attacked by an Invader, John hit a wrecked car and did not continue. One of the Hillbilly cars was launched over the inner wall at the pit bend, destroying the oil sump. # 839 took a roll on the same part of the track in the final. This happened as Allan Woods mullered Alan Lewis, for mullering Paul Woods...The restart saw # 41 Dan Steele take victory and most of the Invaders drop by the wayside. # 270 Jim Howard, Bad Newz, came out with only three tyres turning, the forth dragged on its side, for the DD. He was joined by the hearse and one of the marshals in a Hillbilly car. John Haggas was immobilised by Jim, then the hearse was jacked by the marshal in his Volvo estate. He was given the victory...
