Morecambe Bay Trophy (Feat. home leg of Buxton 10on10)
It was billed as a big race between Buxton and Warton bangers, to be fair, it was!! That said we had an awesome banger
heat one and an even awesomer Minstox Final. Want to know more ?? Well read on !
Note I have been complianed about for using bad language in my report.. the offending word was 'crap', that really buggers
me up now, I will try and insert words that are non offensive, where needd.
Bangers. (30 this meeting)
It was the 10 on 10 first with the home leg with Buxton. A full field brought out and interesting race, we, Warton,
were however flowered upon from a great height. Lets say the Buxton lads we very keen to win, and went out of their
way to win, and erm they fluffy bunny did win. We had many a wrecked car, including Donkey and Sirocco Steve, with
one of our cars jumping out of the way.. literally. The glorious victorious Buxton team go on the pace car, almost
pushing in into the ground, the overweight chicks nearly trashed its suspension. Anyhow it was then time for heat one,
what a heat, first corner and a massive pile up, it was then that # 316 Jason Ollerenshaw and # 172 Gav Howard almost
lauched each other, many said it was a follow in, but I say there was a TNT Warton car up Gavs boiled sweet right up
to the last second, check out the photos on CD on website! Anyroad, no one was hurt and Gav managed to drive away,
along with many others. Big wrecks abounded with # 337 and # 619, the latter getting caught in the first lap smash,
both having severe rear damage!. The win was Bad Newz car # 24 Jim Howard. The Final saw an incident with # 24 Jim
Howard and # 41 Dan Steele, Jim tried to follow Dan in, failed and Dan got him back on the next lap. Dans race was
finished by a cheeky knock by # 384, that popped Dans driveshaft. # 182 Shell Creighton was on top form, with some
big hits… n shes a gurly. The win was # 611 Stanny. The Dash4cash/DD was entertaining, with Shell again on a mission.
Most cars had stopped, but she and # 754 (Buxton guy) had a huge head on, then she went full pelt up # 337 posterior
rattling the lads fillings and prompting him to say 'cripes that was ducklingly fluffy hard.'. It seems, though the
driving was hard all day, it was done with good spirit and no ill feeling, which was great to see, there were plenty
of handshakes and back slapping, just the way it should be.
Stock Cars. (25 this meeting)
There was action a plenty in the first heat with three flags, waved yellow. First time was when # 69 caught tangled
with # 808. next # 101 got rear ended and finally # 20 got destroyed in the wall, # 330 Mick Greenwood remained
unscathed and took the win. Heat two was a quieter affair and my good buddy # 234 Jason Lord won. The final and # 808
and # 234 had a big coming together with some big air involved and no doubt some internal cloth touching too (as in an
piglet release). # 106 took the win. # 330 took the win in the Grand National.
Super Bangers. (10 this meeting)
# 100 Ann Potts had a scare in heat one, with a roll on the pit straight. # 944 Tam Cavanaugh took the win in his
new Golf car. The heat two win was his too. # 244 Emenemenem won the final and we had a very serious lap of honour
with Gayboy & Ann on board. Ann went on to win the Grand National.
Ministox. (29 this meeting)
Some of the best racing of the day…. No make that of the year!!!!!!!!!!!! Heat one was fairly clean, a few DNF's
513, 17, 55. At and # 600 Jordan Rainford hit the out wall hard loosing a wheel and # 492 Dan the man won. # 17 Jamie
McCann had another flower race and finished early. # 93 Sammi Twist won. Heat three and controversy after the race
was yellow flagged and some cars still overtook. Thee win was later awarded to # 123 Hoaggy. The Final, what a final,
the closest race you may ever see, # 93 Sammi Twist and # 300 Jordan Rainford were battling all the way from the back
of the field. It was nip and tuck no one giving an inch, they made it to the front, and at the end it was a dead
heat!! A Warton first… The cleanest/closest racing you could ever want to see. The Grand National had two up front
a lap down, another Warton first, Coreless had a spin and # 21 went hard in the wall. # 123 took the win, justifying
the earlier carbuncle.
Here are the results off Angela.
