11th June 2006 MINISTOX By eke, the Ministox were on top form, Heat One despite a few heavy shunts, # 17 Jamie McCann got in a tangle with # 285 Bobby Ewing and almost taking # 300 J.R. Ewing, there was a bag spin for # 247 Sam Chew. # 140 Samantha Taylor kept out of trouble and took the win! Heat Two and it was a clean affair though # 247 Gotta Chew ended up on the infield after an off. Two others pulled out and # 300 J.R. Ewing won the heat, despite is father earlier in the trackshop saying that the photo of Jordan with the flag was a good one (from two meetings back) and adding, 'It will never happen again' .. In yer face daddy Rainford! : The Final and # 11 Chris Smith needed clean underwear after a spin that left him facing oncoming traffic for a few laps, before he managed to rejoin the race. It was very close up front with # 93 Saint II and # 206 Bobby Ewing jostling for the lead, leaning on each other lap after lap, they even went over the line together with Saint just ahead, # 232 Stunty Quinlan was holding a watching brief and got third. It were a grand race, the Grand National that is.# 94 Joe Corless had a big wall hit and was out, though he was OK. # 165 Dan Davies had some big air as he plonked himself on the infield. # 206 Bobby Ewing won.. Horrah !. STOCK CARS The Stock Cars, getting infamous for heavy accidents, were a little tamer today, though # 134 Alex Chapman had another torrid time getting caught up with others and spinning a few times during the day. Heat one saw # 91 Phil Clegg in the wall and 28 Mike Williamson have a spin. # 34 Leon Jarman and # 777 Jack (book em Danno) Lord pulled out to the middle, # 246 Billy Smith was the victor. The second heat was a fast un, quicker than Homer Simpson at a giant doughnut give away. A few were out after the wall took in # 672 Steve Fawcett, # 246 Smith and # 553 John Whittaker to name but three, the Wrennall's had a great scrap for the lead with # 234 Jason Lord, # 342 Dan Wrennall came out on top. More tangles than in a long girls hair, in heat three, including spins and stuff, # 24 Richard Harris was the winner. The Final and # 91 Clegg out early and more falling by the way side, # 246 Smith kept a clear head and won the heat. The Grand National saw a dance between # 134 Chapman and # 717 Mark Duckett near the entrance gate, they were interlocked, but eventually got free and carried on. # 80 Glen Lord had a part of his car fall off, fly high into the air and hit two other cars, more in Stormin Normins but at rear of this ere program. # 342 Dan Wrennall took the win this time, his second of the day! SUPER BANGERS If you like accidents and car damage then the Super Bangers would have been a great watch for you this meeting, as even in heat one they were at it. Within two laps, at which point the race had to be stopped, there was carnage and destruction all around, seven cars were unable to restart. # 439 Jay Kellett took the win from the start of the erm restart. Heat two was no better # 366 Rob Radcliffe (after a 23 year break from racing) had a big moment, hitting the outer wall in the pit straight and ricocheting across the track almost taking out Gary on his post, I then turned round just in time to see # 274 David Christopher in the air on the entrance to the far corner, a massive pile up ensued and again the race was halted. At least five were out after that accident and # 137 Ste Kellett hit the wall hard with wheels a kimbo and an engine fire. # 100 Diane Sugden span out while in the lead giving it to # 141 Alan Brown, who never lost it after that. # 274 DC was unlucky again in the final after getting some major rear end damage on his pick up, loosing a rear wheel, more wheels were lost by # 57 Steve Hardy and # 802 Capt Black, but while all around were loosing their wheels, # 244 Emenemnem was steering his to victory. The Grand national was a tamer affair with # 439 Kellett out early and # 141 Brown taking the spoils. BANGERS 14 Bangers started heat one, inc a free hearse donated to the Steeles, driven by # 431 Deano. The pit corner claimed plenty of cars, roof benders were commonplace. Deano was in the middle of it all, # 41 Dan Steele was against the wall, Team raiders were in the mix, # 949 T-Bone Tony had Deano in his rear, Deano had # 318 Wilf Speak in his posterior, Wilf also taking a nice chunk of wood as a momento. # 449 Mark Thomas was also inside the hearse and # 149 the Duck was in the wall, with yet another roof bender. The Hillbilly car of # 384 Anthony Beckerton took the victory. Dan Steele won the second heat which saw a few spins and nudges. The Final and # 215 Joycey out after a hit on a beached # 149 Duck, # 41 Dan Steele attacked the Vole, that everyone else was ignoring, and took himself out… # 118 was the winner. The DD and loads of cars out for that, well five. Dan was in Deanos hearse and by the end it had been destroyed. For those that stayed to the end to watch, you were not disappointed, even a bit of crowd cheering at one point.
