MINISTOX
There was plenty of action in the first heat of the Ministox. # 163 was put out early into the far bend wall, then #
140 Sam Taylor was involved in an altercation, loosing a front wheel which went under the car sending her into the air
for a second or two. The race was red flagged then restarted, # 168 Ike Parkinson was spun out, restarted again and
pulled up a few laps later, showing a masterful skill of the universal 'you're a self abuser' hand movement every time
a certain other car passed him, I was creased up laughing at him. # 93 Saint II took the win, as he did in heat two.
The second heat saw Sam back racing and Ike in the pit bend wall. # 123 Ste Hoggarth had a nasty hit after stopping on
the s-f straight and getting hit side on on the last lap of the race. He was OK, as was everyone after another crash in
the Final. It was in the far corner and saw a good six or seven cars involved, amazingly they all sorted themselves out
and got going. # 94 Joe Corless gotten himself a black flag, but his car was damaged anyway. Then all hell broke loose,
in the same corner as # 138 Dave Kellett span out, causing a chain reaction of other cars piling into each other.
Kellett was unavoidably t-boned and though he did another lap, he was soon caught up in the wreck again. The race was
red flagged and the track cleared. # 107 Jack (Ian's lad) Barton had a few thrills and spills with a spin in the far
corner causing a waved yellow flag, # 93 kept his head and out of trubble getting himself a treble of Twisty wins of
the day. Ike had a problem with loose nuts and he pull up before his wheel fell off, other than that it was quite a
tame race. # 323 Anthony Riley was in the doghouse after heavy contact with a car carrying white & black stripes. The
win went to # 232 Stunty Quinlan ending a fun day for the Ministox. Oh and a big well dun to Lil Emenemnem ( # 245 Sam
Makim) who gotten himself his first ever trophy, watch out dad, you may need a bigger trophy cabinet soon
STOCK CARS
Three heats again for the Stock Cars, due the ever increasing numbers of competitors. Heat one was clean and frantic
until ¾ of the way through the 16 lap race, there was a tidy pile up in the pit bend taking out at least three cars,
the race continued and # 134 Alex Chapman took the win, as he did in the second heat which featured slightly fewer cars
and no real incidents. Heat three was another clean affair and # 911 Peter Kaulbarsch was the victor this time round.
The final was far from quiet with plenty of cars causing carnage around the track, this included spins and accidents
the noticeable spin was that of # 3 Saint I who spent a great deal of the race facing side on at the far corner exit,
though no body ran into him. This years Spielberg self race film maker was a Bell who ploughed into the pit bend wall,
not sure how his camera faired though. # 80 Glen Lord had an engine blow towards the end of the race and two cars #
330 Mick Greenwood and # 135 Mick Howarth piled, locked together, onto the infield. I figured that it was Mick's fault
and Mick was just collected in the accident. That # 134 Chapman again took a win, his third of the day. The Grand
National saw another clean race with # 717 Mark Duckett out early, Saint I and # 35 Jason Yeates out later. It was a
great win for former Ministox Champion # 342 Dan Wrennall.
SUPER BANGERS
Dippys Pink car actually did not start heat one of the Super Bangers, though I was more surprised to see # 48 Kevin
Chadwick back racing for the first time since that huge follow in in the bangers a few years back, he was in an estate
car because 'it has more crumple zone' His car did not finish the race but it remained straight. # 274 David Christopher
was out after a heavy shunt, a lap after I stopped filming him!! Typical!! The win for heat one and two went to # 964
Anthony Whittaker, the second heat being a comfortable win with it much tighter for second between # 439 Jay (bionic)
Kellett and # 244 Emenemnem with Bionic placing a shunt on the last corner to secure second spot. A huge pile marked
the start of the final, Greenwood span in front of the field and everyone piled in, # 100 Diane Potts (her off of
Emmerdale Woolpack) almost rolled her red car as she was pushed sideways across the infield, amazingly most cars got
sorted and carried on racing with only a yellow flag being put out for a minute or so. # 244 Emenemnem took the win.
Like father like son.. Or son like father.. I don't know. # 439 Bionic Kellett took the win in a quiet Grand National.
BANGERS
Due to some confusion about which class of Bangers were racing, numbers were slightly down. That said heat one was
impressive to say the least with # 501 Basher Kaye giving out plenty of damage with his impressive Ford Consul which
for me is the car of the season so far. # 619 Taylor had his car destroyed, # 172 Gav Howard was also damaged badly.
# 613 had some big air as he was pushed up the ramp of the infield at the far corner. # 501 Basher was also taking to
the air a lap later at the same spot only he didn't carry on, he hit the tyre next to the marshal post, pushing that
onto the track and the concrete plinth a good three inches to boot. # 511 got a nasty hit after a spin left him nose
first in the start finish wall. He was OK though, though a little disorientated and the win was for # 613 Mr Smoothy
who had recovered well after his earlier flight. Heat two started of quite tamely with a good tussle for the lead
between # 109 Barton and # 110 the latter who later was spun out and reversed into the tyre at the other side of the
marshal podium that Basher had hit earlier. And there were hits and spins all over the place. # 15 Shaun Byram kept
his nerve and won. A jacking was dished out to # 493 Brian Whitehead in the final and Basher ended up in Malcolm's Gate
other than that it was a bit of a rod fest. # 611 David Stansfield took the win. The DD featured only a handful of cars,
one being Bashers Consul which was tractored on the track in reverse though Malcolm's Gate. It wasn't long before only
two cars were left, this was after a jacking for Basher and # 613 and # 240. Car # 240 and # 238 were the last two
moving playing cat and mouse for a few minutes until the win was given, check the results page as I don't have it here
at the moment
The days results will go up when Angela sends them to me...
