MINISTOX
First out were the ministox, drivers between the ages of ten & sixteen. It's normal for them, in the first race of the year, with plenty of novice drivers, to have plenty of accidents, but for the most part they did really well all day. That's said Heat One was halted with a red flag after # 415 Sean Haggas ploughed into Malcolm's gate after getting a knock. He was a bit battered, bruised and knarked but otherwise OK, his car, sadly, was not. At the restart it was close up front betwixed # 232 Stunty, # 93 Saint II and # 138 Dave Kellett (Still finking of a nick name for him yet). # 140 Sam Taylor got span out in the pit bend. Saint II & Kellett got into a tangle at the pit bend with the latter ending up on the infield. Saint II fell back and Stunty & # 206 Bobby Dale battled for the win, with Bobby coming out on top.

The second heat was a tad slower, as the track had been wetted to reduce the dust levels. # 123 Ste Hoggarth had a spin in the far corner exit which left him with no rear tyre grip…they were a foot in the air as he had beached himself on the infield. # 140 Sam Taylor span out # 711 Nicola Hattcliffe in the same corner and # 138 Dave (no nickname) Kellett went on to take the win.

Awesome skills displayed by all drivers in the final with plenty of control even when being span by other drivers. @ the front it was close though with Stunty, Saint II and Bobby all battling for the lead. Even having a three car train at times and swapping places at every corner… Stunty eventually got the win and we all looked chuffed, well all except # 11 Chris Smith, who was left on the infield after an engine prob..

The Grand national and the contact, which is allowed, was as heavy as heck, with another awesome display of skill and excitement, almost everyone got a shove at some point during the race and again the top drivers were scrapping it out, this time joined by # 123 Hoggarth and # 140 Sam Taylor. The win was Saint II's and this all boards well for the rest of the season. All drivers give yourselves a pat on the back!

STOCK CARS
The stock cars were split into three heats, due to the high numbers that turned out, and raced 16 laps in the heats and 20 in the final. Heat one and two race stops for removal of cars that had crashed/pulled up on the racing line. # 134 Alex Chapman and # 342 Dan Wrennall had a great scrap until Dan got Span by Alex, who went on for the win.

Heat two saw a more tentative race, the track slippy after being watered for the ministox before. # 3 Saint 1 and # 91 Phil (look at my new beast) Clegg got into a tangle and out at pit entrance gate. # 330 Mick Greenwood took the win.. .

Heat three was well fast, though # 35 Jason Yeates took an early lead in the 'how high can I send a tyre/wheel off my car' with an impressive 50foot effort in the pit corner. A spinner in the far corner survived oncoming traffic without even a knock for half the race and that # 134 Alex Chapman went on to take the win sadly # 80 Glen Lord was out early.

It all ended in tears for # 330 Mick in heat three after a high speed smash into Malcolm's gate with Dan Wrennall, and others. Mick's roof had to be cut off to extract him after he complained of back pains. After a check up at the hossie, he was allowed home, his car however is now a coupe. This finished a promising race early and again that # 134 Alex Chapman was the winner.

SUPER BANGERS
The super bangers also returned today with a few tidy looking cars and a pink carbuncle. Heat one and a few spins were had by a few drivers, David Christopher # 274 was involved in a few scrapes with # 964 Tony Whittaker who went on to take the victory. The second heat and a few more bumps & scratches for DC's car, well slightly more then, as he flew into the pit bend wall. The rest of the race was fairly clean though, despite the odd spin, and the car # 244 Mad Martin Makim (Emnem&em) took the win. He 'was robbed' of the final win after excessive contact on car # 6 on the last corner on the last lap, though car six crossed the line, full pelt in reverse, Emnem&em was blacked flagged and the win was car six's. It was in # 52 Gayboys' car from last season, talking of Gayboy, Dippy, # 400 managed to finish every single race today in his pink monstrosity.. Even scoring a few points, despite a top speed of three miles a week…

BANGERS
The bangers were back on top form, despite the popular no follow in rule, numbers are up and the wrecking is still widespread. The first heat and a nice crush in the far corner, saw jackings galore and the crowd cheer for # 514 Paul Woods as he snook past the carnage lap after lap to take a great win. The carnage was widespread as over 15 cars were caught up in it and # 156 David Knight was the biggest wrecked car, though it was pulled out for the DD!! It was a great deal tamer in the second heat and # 968 and # 236 Ryan Robinson (in his first grown up banger meeting) both got some damage, mainly 968 who's car was abandoned side on on the pit straight and during the race clipped and slowly spun round. Paul Woods also took this win too. The final and some big hits again # 449 Mark 'Bad Boy' Thomas was catapulted into the air & onto the infield, # 105 Sirocco Steve was a victim too. Dan Peel gave some good hits and broke his arm in the process, though being Dan he only found out much later that night. The high/low light was the cat and mouse chase between # 41 Dan Steele and # 949 Tony Fideo, both of whom waited for each other at the start, chased each other and we saw Dan go the wrong way round the track looking for Fidoe, though he was on the infield by then after being blacked flagged. The win went to another Invader, # 51 Ted. The DD was not a long affair though there were a great hits and the last movement was slow as normal, but very funny.
