MINISTOX
MINISTOX - The first, of three heats, started with a pile up in the first corner, taking out # 17 Jamie McCann with a heavy spin on the far corner exit. There were plenty of other non finishers, # 285 Thomas Murphy stopped in pit bend. # 93 Sam Twist was having a great time leaping over the lower inner kerb every other lap, though it was not enough to beat the charging # 101 James Hayhurst from yet another victory. Heat two # 206 Robert Dale and # 344 Haley Parkinson had an awesome battle for the lead. # 928 Doddyman got beached and another scrap toward the end of the race was between # 415 Sean Haggas and # 492 Dan Hurst. Haley came out on top and took a deserved win. The third heat and this time there were waved yellows following # 226 Damian Gladwin ending up on the racing line after a spin. # 344 Parkinson and # 206 Dale were in the hunt for the win. # 415 Haggas had a heavy hard spin, but rejoined and # 101 James Hayhurst took the win. The A Final and a great win for # 93 Twist. Yet again # 344 Haley and # 206 Robert were battling long and hard, but Haley also had scrapes with # 101 Hayhurst and also # 131 David Jones in a much improved show by the lass. That said it wasn't enough to catch an on fire # 93 Sam Twist who took a great win. The B Final saw a red flag then a great drive by # 300 Jordan Rainford , who was leading most of the race. # 285 Thomas Murphy span out and, I hope your sitting down, # 492 Dan Hurst, in his odd shaped ministox, took the win !! Well done Danny boy.

STOCK CARS
Had plenty of different winners, # 135 Mick Howarth in heat one, # 347 Hoss Nelson in second and # 134 Alex Chapman took the final with # 135 Howarth taking the Grand National. Overall it was a clean days racing, as a close as ever with # 343 Lee Wrennall lifting a wheel on acceleration out of corners. # 246 Billy Smith span out in heat two. # 24 Richard Harris leapt over # 342 Dan Wrennall and # 347 Nelson was out after an accident tore a tyre, all that in the final. In the Grand National it was Hoss & Dan who got locked together in the pit bend, with Hoss getting blacked flagged after reversing out of then driving back into Dans stricken car.

SUPER BANGERS
The highlight of heat one was the return of ex-banger driver # 316 Jason Ollerenshaw in a smart car. There were plenty of spins and nudges, though # 439 Jason Kellett blasted through to take the win, his first of three today (all except the grand national where he 'only' managed second - the bloke is back on form). The second heat saw Mr Ollerenshaw explode, # 355 Tom Harvey and # 356 out in a nasty looking crash opposite Malcolms Gate. # 53 Gayboy and # 141 Alan Brown had a last lap tangle and # 244 Mad Mart went on two wheels into the stricken # 316. It took three laps for that Rodder Kellett to get the lead. # 644 David Windsor got some major damage to his front end and with other thrills and spills it was a great race to watch. The Grand National saw a new 'Im OK' hand gesture from # 101 Ann Potts after getting a shove into the inner kerb at the far corner from # 53. Ann piled across the track and got stuck on the outer wall, with plenty of damage, and, coincidentally, as Gayboy drove past, Ann held up her middle finger… Poor thing she must have forgot it's the thumb your supposed to hold up after a crash to show you are ok.. Never mind she is a Granny now.. Old dear…

BANGERS
We had visitors from overseas, well over the Irish Sea, from Ireland, they enjoyed the days racing, as did most of us. Heat one was the Classic Car heat and though only six cars made it out in time, the crowd were cheering each hit and there was more action than in the last few banger meetings put together. Driver of he day in the car of the day was # 501 his tiny Austin was continually plied into various other much bigger cars, including # 310 Enos P4… all this with a Robin engine too! The Irish Hearse was a target for most and after taking the win, # 511 (Invader) mullered himself into the far corner trying to destroy Enos P4.. Eno was more spun than damaged and retaliated with a heavy hit on the offending car. Heat two and loads of cars and even more action.. It all started tamely enough with the Capri dominated field getting span and nudged. Then the Irish # 39 and # 213 Karlos, launched themselves onto the infield almost taking out the marshal post. # 111 Geoff Pratt was the winner and again the crowd were very vocal. (it was like banger racing at Warton used to be). There was still 20 cars running for the consolation and Mad Mark ofa TNT was on his roof straight away, # 39 ended up again on the infield, but this time at the opposite side of the track. # 880 was beached but all this was just a prelude to the BEST BANGER FINAL at Warton for some time. A few gentle spins and nudges to get things started then Mad Mark was attacked in far corner, by and Irish Capri, but in the pit bend # 317 was rolled and went into the outer wall roof first. He was OK and happy, even though it was only his second ever meeting! The restart saw a nice roll from # 512 Allan Woods, who carried on after landing back on his wheels. Another Invader # 515 Tom Was a jacked filling in a Team V butty, buried in the back of Eno and Jacked by Smelly who was then picked up by another Invader # 516 Ikky then a lap or so later yet another Invader # 514 Paul Woods, who jacked Smelly into the end of the straightaway. # 111 smacked into # 614 Allan Woods lost a wheel and Basher Kaye (# 501) buried his car in the rear of # 614 Smokey. # 145 Mad Mark was wasted in the far corner and the win went to # 516 with Basher and Eno still travelling around the track. It was nothing short of awesome. It was getting late by the time the DD was on, but what a race. Basher was still attacking everyone and being attacked by the Irish. # 319 Shovy in a banger older than our track was in dispute with the hearse. The hearse next took on Cleggy (# 474). It all went into a mess in the pit corner with cars going back wards and forwards. It all ended, and Bashers car was finally halted… Though in a Christine moment, it drove off the track !

ROBIN RACING
The annual three wheel pig race was fun, with rolls and action. The first heat was the best with four pigs rolling into the first corner. Sadly it was end of the day for # 57. Heat two and a big moment to # 514 Paul Woods, who was rolled a few times and totally lost his roof. One of the rolled Pigs roasted itself (caught fire) sending a plume of smoke across the circuit. The Final and Paul was in an awesome three Pig accident/roll on the pit bend, along with the Gravediggers Pig and the Riot Squad had its snout end up on the floor, before going under the front wheel and causing itself to go off the circuit. The Dd was, as always, a long long race, with Chris martin (ex - Coldplay) in the Riot Squad Pig getting jacked.. Chris the attacked and got under # 501 basher Kayes car. Chris then attacked Tut Knowles (351). Basher had a head on. Chris was on fire as he pushed Tut so hard that Tuts bonnet went up and blocked his view. That didn't stop Tut jacking Chris a short time later and that was that.. a great day. Nice weather too.
