MINISTOX
Ministox, second time we have over 20 cars since the new race format was introduced, meaning three heats, with each car racing in two and an A Final and a B Final. So it was somewhat of a surprise to see a first corner pile up in the first corner of the first heat. Most managed to get back racing though # 285 Thomas Murphy spent a few laps dragging his rear wheel under his car. # 711 Nicole Hatcliffe had a heavy shunt in the far corner and # 415 Sean Haggas was one of many who failed to finish. # 101 James Hayhurst took an easy win.
Heat two and a mostly inexperienced field, # 140 Samantha Taylor showed her skills were vastly improving by recovering from some hits and nudges, without loosing speed or crashing out. # 17 Jamie McCann had a heavy accident and there was a pile up in the pit bend, which claimed # 999 Darrell Shaw. # 93 Sam Twist finished first.
The third heat and Twist was not so successful, though he did show NASA how to launch a vehicle into space by piling into the inner kerb at great speed and taking his car about four foot into the air. There was a moment of concern for # 602 Adam Taylor in the pit bend wall, but he managed to get out after gaining his composure. There was a great scrap for the lead between # 232 Josh Quinlan and # 101 James Hayhurst, the latter being the victor at the chequered flag.
The A Final had the top half of the point scorers racing against each other and it was a close nip and tuck race. # 206 Robert Dale and # 93 Sam Twist had an awesome battle mid-field. That ended after Twist was taken out by Dale toward the end of the race. If there had been two or more laps left # 101 James Hayhurst would possibly have caught up and maybe passed eventual winner # 232 Josh Quinlan. The B Final saw a few spins, but fairly clean racing. Most cars finished, with # 999 Darrell Shaw leading the pack past the flag.

WARTON STOCK CARS
Stock Cars had a busy day, with over twenty cars starting the first heat, there was a pile up on the first corner and amazingly they all sorted themselves out and carried on. There were plenty spins, nudges and hard hits as the race progressed. # 342 Dan Wrennall took a great win. Twenty started heat two and again there were plenty of hits and spins, # 234 Jason Lord lost a wheel, and # 246 Billy Smith broke his front suspension. # 717 Mark Duckett span out in the pit bend, # 347 Hoss Nelson and # 252 Darren Bentham also failed to finish. The winner was a well chuffed # 35 Jason Yeates. Bentham caused the first red flag in the Final after he ploughed into Malcolms gate. # 135 Mick Howarth also ended his race in the far corner and the heat two winner # 35 Yeates stopped in the far corner. There was another red flag incident after # 911 Peter Kaulbarsch was taken out, in a racing incident, in the pit bend, he was, so I'm told, less than impressed and vented off at the other driver. # 134 Alex Chapman took the win, though in the Grand National Chapman was almost taken out as a recovering # 135 Howarth recovered from a spin in front of him. For the rest of the drivers it was speedy affair, though no one could catch Wrennall as he took his second win of the day.

SUPER BANGERS
Another full track in the Super Banger class with # 264 Roland Kelsall getting the most damage, loosing a wheel. # 175 Wayne Ducksbury and # 228 Tom Stable were both out in the pit corner. Though there were surprisingly few incidents and that # 244 Martin Makim took the win. The second heat was also fairly clean, though three cars ended up out in the infield. On last lap # 100 GRannY Potts took out # 644 David Windsor. # 439 Rodder Kellett took the win. # 644 Windsor got his revenge on Granny in the final, but 'helping' her into the far corner. Earlier # 141 Alan Brown had tried to destroy the marshal post oppo the start/finish box. # 53 Dave Cuthbert won the race. Cuthbert took advantage of a mass pile up early in the Grand National, gaining plenty of places. The cow car of Tom Stable stopped on the racing line, forcing the waved yellows while it was shifted. The sprint to the finish saw Kellett as the victor as he bullied his way into the lead.
