A crackings day racing, and decent weather too....
JNR BANGERS
# 261 Dom and # 71 got span on first corner of heat one. There was a red flag after a Warton Crush near Malcolms gate,
most of the cars resarted. # 820 & # 161 Nick Hyphenated out after # 820 span and ended up in the path of Nick. # 261
ended on infield in the pit corner. # 928 Doddyman had a spat at the end of his race and # 929 had is rear bumper under
his car most of the race, didn't help with cornering or braking though. # 236 RyRob and # 101 Jimbob hayhurst, had a neat scrap
for the lead, the experiance of Jimbob prevalled, as he took the win.
Heat two and # 525 Plum (named as he only has one) of the Invaders in his first ever meeting, was span out by a rampent # 188, a Jnr Hillbilly, The racing was very close elsewhere, with # 928 Dioddyman taking the win, he was creamed just as the red flags, to signal the end of the race by # 236 Jne Team V lad Ryrob. Doddyman had a lift round with the flag of # 14, which was a nice thing to do...
The Final was great, # 261 Dom was rampant, with plenty of hits and spins, inc. # 164 and Team V's Ryrob (# 236). Sadly he got a little carried away and was blacked flagged toward the end of the race. # 101 Jimbob Hayhurst was also showing plenty of skill, I know I was surprised too, spinning out the odd car despite leading most on the final, which he went on to win. Wreck of the Jnr day was # 236 Ryrob, who was hit after stopping in the far corner exit, moving his rear wheel very close to his drivers seat.
SUPER BANGERS
# 160 had the repaired # 555 Scooby car and handled it quite well, in fact it was noted taht it wheelspan all the way
down the straights! Another car with a different driver/number was # 175's driven by # 944 Tam Cavanaugh, I hope your
keeping up with this. # 280 Matthew Atkinson had a new car and was learning the ropes. The winner was the pro # 439 Jay Kellett who blasted to
the win.
The normally reliable # 439 Jay Kellett had major problems red flagging three starts, as his car refused to go, when he was put on the infield, the racing began in earnest. # 19 Micheal Bell had a go at mounting # 228 Tom Stable, but Tom remained stable and they both continued, though Toms left rear trye was shredded, making his car somewhat unstable. # 244 Mad Mart had a sniff at the Scooby, but no doo doo for him as he skillfully corrected the enforced slide. Other than that it was a clean race, with a couple of cars pulling out, Mad Mart went on to win.
# # 163 Michael Sutcliffe was out early in Final, with only a few spins, mainly from # 228 Tom 'Un' Stable to report, oh and # 160 going hard into the far corner. # 244 Mad Mart took a great win from a charging # 439 Jay Kellett.
car 228 Tom 'Un' Stable, was again offering support to other cars, in a de-ja-vu style mounting, only # 160 Scooby had a snifter this time. Then Tom got caught up with # 100 Peggy Potts in the far corner, collecting # 19 Micheal Bell. They all continued, and the win was taken by that Jay Kellett bloke, again..
WARTON STOCK CARS
A great win for # 777 Jack Lord, in his first race in ages. The tracked seemed greasy and the cars pottered a little at
times. Heat two and a speedier race, and closer too with # 330 Mick Greenwood and # 342 Dan Wrennall getting a tad close at times!
Dan had a two wheel moment too, but # 91 Phil Clegg had a blast on the infield after some light contact. The win was # 133 Anthony
Hallgate. The Final was a # 777 Jack Lord lost control over the start finish line. He fishtailed and ended up hitting the far corner
full bore square on. The St Johns were called upon, after the other cars stopped swiftly for the red flags. Jack was OK, though winded and Glen Lord (# 80)
asked me to pass on his thanks for all the hard work that St Johns do, it seems all three drivers in the family have recieved
attention from them so far this season. The restart saw a great win for # 911 Peter Kaulbarsch and some Go-Kart style
driving from # 342 Dan Wrennall, who threw his car around like it was a fair ground ride. The Grand National was a tamer
affair with action being supillied by a big pile up in the far corner exit afer the red flags were waved. The win was
for # 133 Tony Holgate.
2LTR BANGERS
Heat one of the bangers and 21 cars turn out. We had two Krazy Krew too, and plenty of action in both corners of the track.
# 493 was jacked early on by # 4 in a huge melly in the first corner. # 4 ended the heat mullered in the pit bend though.
# 416 Angus, in a Sierra, will they ever learn, had a frought day with a jacking by # 42 Donkey, both continued. # 696
Karl had a slide along the inner kerb, teammate # 695 took on all comers too. # 340 Jonathan Atkinson took the win for Team V.
A potentail 10 on beckons after this heat.. :) It started with TNT pushing # 90 of the Krazy Krew into the far corner and collecting a few other cars along the way. Then # 105 Steve Johnson squeezed # 512 Allan Woods into the infield, Allan took off and almost jumped the inner kerb and went full pelt head on into the far corner, amazingly he carried on racing. Steve also hit the inner kerb and almost flipped. Allan was again in the action, only at Malcolms gate, with a big T-bone from Team V's Big Al. Allan decided to get revenge, by doing half a lap the wrong way round the track.. sadly his car gave up, but not before # 340 Jon Atkinson gave chase. Allans car was bent like a banana, but all three of they guys shook hands with Allan saying, 'hey its banger racing' Carl Padget was the winner.
# 295 ended up under Doms old Jnr Banger car, which had been re scutineered to race in the final. Bot cars remained there for the rest of the race, # 520 took to the air and infield after a nudge and # 416 was jacked into the far corner by Chip in his albino Team V car. # 520 of the Invaders made a mess of the inner kerb, after sliding sideways hard into it. The win went to the Krazy Krew car number 250.
The Mechanics race was halted after # 512 Allan Woods was sparked out, his car died just before the start finish line, he was jacked then pushed up the straight and into the corner next to the entrance gate by Big Al. Allan got out and was OK, though a tad groggy. We then had the DD, which saw a battle extrodinaire # 880 Ant Kerr was out in Jems Jnr Banger and was involved in a jacking train with Big Al and Krazy Krew # 90. The Krazy one had another whack at the implanted Al then, after being waved on by Ant, t-boned Ants car, halving its width. He then took on # 696 Karl and won.
It was a cracking days racing in all classes again, it just keeps getting better and better.. Roll on the Team Meeting (I still need drivers for my team :( )
