These are rules for Stock Cars Only. Note the rules for racing all cars at Warton are HERE
STOCK CARS
50. Cars must be a purpose-built space frame single seated open wheeled chassis, Formula 2
type only and shall not be derived from a manufactured road vehicle. Beam axles outlaw size
allowed.
51. Four wheel drive vehicles are not allowed.
52. Engines to be of any capacity and open to any modification.
53. a) All cars must be fitted with bumpers not less than 4" deep and the centre being between
16" and 18" from the ground.
b) Roll bars must be fitted and welded or bolted securely and safely. The roll bar over or to
the rear of the drivers head, shall be a minimum of 1" or metric equivalent square or round
section and shall include at least one diagonal cross brace.
c) A full harness must be fitted and secured safely. A quick release steering wheel must be
fitted.
d) Any make or compound of tyre may be used provided they are readily available to
everyone. All Stock Cars will display their current roof colour on a board, the size of a car
number plate, taping a section of the aerofoil will not be sufficient. Failure to display these
plates will result in a two place forfeiture. A second offence will result in a ban.
e) A black area will be painted on the aerofoil to take a white number or numbers
or a white area to take black numbers.
f) The seats to have a metal plate behind the drivers head at least 6 inch square, welded
to 2 upright bars.
g) Front and rear bumpers to be 4" deep and only 2x1 box used, 2 lengths only bolted on
by minimum 4 / 12mm nuts and bolts complete with 6mm chain, bumper complete with
corner loops minimum 6" high.
h) A prop guard to be fitted under driver seat 2mm min steel.
54. Stock cars to have steel side panels, from the front upright bar of the cab, to the rear of the
cab. The steel plate shall be S.W.G. 14 or its equivalent 2mm thick. It may be fitted under
existing aluminium sheet or instead of this skin. Fitted to both sides of the cab. Box section
may be used instead of plate.
If the rules do not specify that you can, then take it that you can’t. If in doubt
to save disappointment consult the scrutineer and committee.
