
Senior Minis
Build to be as Junior Minis with a Minimum weight of 712 Kgs and a maximum width between 58" and 60".Driver to sit on right or in centre. Aerofoils are optional.
Sub Frames/Suspension
A standard front Sub frame will be used, rear sub frame standard or may be fabricated. Shocks- coil overs allowed
either front or rear. In place of standard suspension.
Hubs and wheels
Brakes drum or discs, effective on at least 2 wheels.
10"-13" any wheel, any tyre but within above width restriction.
Engine
Any "A" series 1300 cc, with standard pistons, 20thou max overbore. Any standard head and valves, the head may be
skimmed to increase compression, the block may be decked but pistons must be level with block face. Any Cam that
fits without modification to block or head. No Porting or Polishing to the head. No lightening or balancing of Crank,
Conrods or Pistons allowed. Standard Flywheel and clutch, lightening and balancing allowed. Timing chains-Not Belts-
Vernier or off set woodruff keys allowed. Standard distributor ,points or electronic, open to modifications. No
crankshaft sensors allowed Carburettor must be 1.75" SU two or four bolt fixing. Manifolds are free. Jets, springs,
needles in carb are interchangeable.
Remote oil filters and oil coolers allowed. Any Rocker gear that fits without modification and standard push rods.
Standard road fuel to be used. Any radiator providing it is within the engine bay.
Gear Box
Standard Gear box, central oil pick up optional, Final Drive ratio's interchangeable. No straight cut gears in drop
gears or gear box. Standard operational differentials no LSD's locked diffs etc.

SENIOR MINIS RULES 2008
121. The class will be known as Senior Minis, it is intended to be a Budget Formula and will race
in a clockwise direction. Contact rules, no deliberate walling and no turning into overtaking
vehicles. Pushing in direction of racing allowed.
Minimum weight of 712 Kgs and a maximum width between 58" and 60". Driver to sit on right
or in centre. Aerofoils are optional.
122. The drivers shall be 17 years or over.
123. a) The car shall be a B.M.C. type Mini. All steel bodies only to be used. No wood framed
Travellers will be allowed. Vans, pickups and all steel Travellers may be used.
b) Fibreglass panels will not be allowed.
c) The body must retain its original appearance.
124. The interior of the car must be stripped of all flammable materials and glass, with the
exception of an interior mirror retained inside the frame.
All external lights and fittings, including chrome strips, all handles and wheel embellishers
must be removed.

128. Gear Box

straight cut gears in drop gears or gear box. Standard operational differentials no LSDs
locked diffs etc.
129. A full roll cage must be fitted. 11⁄2" minimum 2" maximum square or round, not less than four
posts, with a screen hoop and a hoop over the driver’s head. The hoops must be joined at
roof, 6" below door top and sill top levels. Cross braces at the dashboard height and 6" below
door top height, behind the driver’s seat will be used. A cow catcher type bumper will be fixed
to front and rear of the car, square box or round bar 11⁄2" minimum 2" maximum. It will be
attached to the internal and external side rails. The external side rail shall be fixed just above
the top of the wheel arches. The internal bars (fitted below the door top height) should be
joined to the external bars for extra side strength. They will be attached to front and rear
bumpers at the top of the bumper, so forming triangles at either side of the car. The rail at sill
height to be attached to bumpers at the bottom of the bumpers, the bumpers should be 12"
minimum 14" maximum. No wider than front wings. (Some of the braces to the main steel
work may be less than 11⁄2").
130. Welding must be of an acceptable standard. It should be carried out by an experienced
welder.
131. Doors and boot must be welded securely.
132. Driver’s door must not be cut down.
133. The driver’s seat may remain. If a reclining seat is used, the back must be securely fixed.
134. A full headrest must be securely fitted to the roll cage at the correct height. It must be no
more than 1" away from the driver’s helmet when strapped in.
135. A full harness, not less than three point fixing, shall be fitted.
136. The battery must be enclosed in a wood, metal or plastic box, the terminals suitably
protected. A spill proof cover should be fitted. The box will be securely fixed to the floor.
137. The main lead to the battery must be separated from the fuel line. A battery cut off switch
shall be fitted within easy reach of the driver.
138. The original petrol tank must be replaced by a tank of not more than three gallon capacity.
139. A fuel on/off tap must be fitted within easy reach of the driver when strapped in. The fuel line
will be of a metal type. Plastic or rubber joints not more than 4" long will be allowed. All joints
must be leak proof. Screwed joints or with jubilee clips.
140. A fire extinguisher of an approved type shall be fitted within easy reach of the driver.
141. A hole in the bonnet must be cut adjacent to the carburettor in case of fire.
142. The speedo hole must be covered, to form a fire wall, between engine compartment and
interior of cab.
143. Sharp edges and/or protrusions must be removed.
144. A steel mesh must be fitted to the driver’s side of the screen opening. The size of the mesh
must not exceed 1⁄2". It is permissible to use chicken wire on top of a heavier gauge of wire
mesh. In the case of a driver sitting in the middle of the car, the whole of the screen opening
must be covered.
145. Numbers must be clear and neat. The numbers on the side of the car should be a minimum
of 10" high. Fin type roof numbers will be white on a black background, not less than 9" high.
The number will also be displayed clearly in the front of the car. A car number plate is
recommended for this purpose.
146. Only the registered driver may drive under his registered number.
