  • BOOK IN NOW, or it goes!

    WARton of the Roses 08

  • Sunday was a tricky day for all drivers in all classes, what with the changeable weather! The bangers were around 17 in number, but the wrecking and racing was top notch, so well done guys. The Ministox are getting better and better, theres close racing throughout the field and some great action too. The Supers had well over ten cars, whoohoop inc the Team Retatrds one, which did better than I, and prob TR, thought it would!. The Snr Minis were still under ten in number, but had some good action every so often. The Stockkers were gaining in numbers, and incidents were plentiful, so all in all great days racing.

  • Get well messages to Leanne Kellett (cut out of her Ministox), The Marshal (Gary) who's podium was hit by a banger, but was OK and the Stock Car driver winded badly in the Grand National...

  • In the pits it was slightly more fraught as we weighed all the Minis and some Stockers, some were a little underweight, some hugely.. So be warned the scales will return, without warning, those who fail to get their weight up WILL NOT RACE!

  • The program had my lengthy report completely missing, despite being proof read with it in (so Im told anyhow). I am annoyed on two fronts...
1: It had a form to book in for WARton of The Roses, which is in two meetings time, theres no where near enough drivers booked in for it to go ahead and this was a last ditch attempt to stop it being cancelled.
2: The rubbish was highlighted and is the most serious threat at the moment for the club to be closed down, I went round after todays meeting and though it was much tidyer, there were still sections where it was way below par. IF YOU CANNOT HELP BUT PUT YOUR CRAP ON THE FLOOR, PLEASE STOP COMING TO WARTON. YOU ARE GOING TO SPOIL IT FOR EVERYONE ELSE. Thanks to Sam & Martin Makim who picked up quite a bit of OTHER PEOPLES RUBBISH before leaving the track today.

Anyway heres the bit that didnt go into the program....

Hello and welcome to Warton Stock Car Club on this loverly Sunday. Last Sunday saw Team Retards, the Makim family and Charlotte Riley and her family with four committee members trying to stop the club getting into more trouble about the rubbish after a race meeting. BE ADVISED IF WE FIND OUT WHO THE MAIN CULPRITS ARE WE WILL TAKE ACTION. We are very close to being fined for litter violations, this could close the club as it won’t be fifty quid, but thousands of pounds, seeing as we live in a ‘greener’ world with zero tolerance regarding pollution and the like.  So….

DO NOT THROW ANY RUBBISH ON THE FLOOR.

DO USE THE NEW BINS PROVIDED.

CHECK THE AREA YOUR IN IS CLEAN AND TIDY BEFORE YOU LEAVE.

BEST STILL RECYCLE A CARRIER BAG AND TAKE YOUR RUBBISH HOME.

Its easy to sort out if we all do a little bit.  This issue has been goin on for years, but things are coming to a head, so act now and save the club from financial ruin.

What disturbed me the most was the amount of soiled nappies found all over the track on Sunday.

They were disgusting and stunk to high hell. So if you have to bring a nappy wearing child, please remember this is not a tip, it’s a bird sanctuary… So either put them in the silver bins or in a nappy sac and take em home. Thank you.

Anyway racing will be good today as in the Supers we will have a new car. It’s a Team retards car, don’t larf.. You can snigger.. It may be painted up fully with the TR logo on, or may be a work in progress, anyway good luck guys and lets see if you can put your race shoes were your mouth is, or summot like that anyaways.

    • A BIG THANKS FOR ALL WHO CAME TO HELPLAST SUNDAY AND PICK UP RUBBISH. Team Retards were there inforce as well as three drivers, namely the Makims (Lil Gangsta and Emenemenem) and Charlotte Riley, all of whom brought more helpers. Loads of rubbish was collected from cans and bottles, to tyres and bits of cars to DISGUSTING USED NAPPIES!! If you have a baby then either DO NOT bring it to the track or at least take home the nappies or put them in the bin. It makes me worry for the baby if its parents are so irrisponsable as to leave these items on the flooor or in the top of oil barrels. WE DO NOT NEED FOLKS LIKE YOU COMING TO OUR TRACK, you are the greatest threat, this is not a joke, we could face a multi thousand pound fine if we do not control our litter problem. The only place you can leave rubbish on race day is in the bins with lids on, or better still take it home. Remember that the track is sited on a bird reserve and is used regularly by locals walking their dogs. SHOW SOME RESPECT.

    • THERE IS A ZERO TOLLERANCE from councils at the moment about loads of stuff, we have to be very carefull we don't mess it up for us all.

    • Some grass tracks hold your licence til the end of racing and only give it back after your area in the pits has been checked for tidyness.... The committee are considering this option if the situation does not improve IMMEDATLEY.

    • Oh and we dont hold track days for fun, we hold them so you can race your cars, so maybe it would be nice nextime to see more drivers show some support even if its only an hour or so as you have to get back for your 'engine rebuild'... who knows by the time its rebuilt the track might have gone???

    • I CANNOT STRESS HOW IMPORTANT THIS IS AND HOW SERIOUS REPECUSIONS COULD BE FOR THE CLUB, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

    • Oh and we need a comentator for Sunday, so if or someone you know is any good contact Graham ASAP.

      DATE: 06-04-08

      • Another good days racing today, and once again the weather held off, OK it was cold, but when I got home I was told it had been hailing, snowing and blowing a gale, so thanks again Shirley :)

      • The racing was frentic, it was great to see a good few BAD NEWZ back at W.S.C.C. tho I was a lil disapointed with Gav Howards behavior! When ever he races we usually get an excuse to ban him, not today, he was a good boy.. Not so a couple of Ministox drivers, who rightly got loaded up after a scrap in the pits.

      • On the track there was loadsa Ministox doing their usual thing, some close action as always and a new lil driver, yet another Barton racer, took it easy at first, got stuck in by the final and SHE likes to repair her car and has just turned 10. Theres racing blood going thro the familes genes, or maybe its petrol !! Anyway all the best # 104 Jayne Barton. A smash in the Grand National saw too drivers hurt, one was most concerned about his erem spuds getting squished, but he thats racing mate, why do you like Lewis Hamleton has such an high pitched voice. # 300 Jordan Rainford was back after serving his ban and went back into the winning groove, battling and scrapping like he's never been away. Racer of the day was # 55 Dan Whittingham, whos car was on top form, winning a heat and the Final. Squeaky, # 464 seemed to be as fast as last time, but now as a red roof had to pass more cars to get into the points.. Lifes tuff at the top.

      • The Stockkers were fun too, even spinning while coming out of the pits. No major smashes, but some great racing action non the less. I was surprised to see # 24 Richard Harris win the final, tho starting the Grand National a lap down was more his style (only joking mate WELL DONE).
      • The Snr Minis increased in numbers, as promised, some good racing between # 44 Paul Gannon and # 492 Geordie boy. Paul however didnt have a good day overall. Stopping a lap early with spark trouble while comfortably in the lead, then getting revenge on # 61 Troy Tempest, who had taken him out at the satrt of the final, Gannon piled Troy into Malcolms gate, but took himself out also. This was great news for Geordie who got two wins, though he would claim that hius superior driving skills were more instrumental in his successes.. Yeah reet woteva, like you saying Im not a Geordie Im from Cumbria.

      • Supers had an interesting day too, loadsa smoke and fires from one car, but loadsa success too. Yup it was a funny old day for new car, but experienced driver, # 964 Anthony Whittaker. The others had some fun and stuff too, # 802 Capt Black seeiming to do well then summot happened and he slipped down, or up. Anyway more cars meant more action and more fun.

      • Bangers, what fun were they, Team V in force, Bad Newz ditto and a good handfull of Mr Men. Yup we knew we were going to have a good day, with wrecks, racing and all done with handshakes at the end. Where to begin, well heat one I guess, the heat two, then the fianl and then the Dash4cash and DD. Yup it was action all the way, big wrecks too, good head ons in the dd, skillfull walling of cars (without following them in) and when the video are up you can watch it all online FOR FREE...

      • Photos going up tonite, so have a gander. Post comments in guestbook and lets look forward to the 20-04-08 when we do it all again. Points and results moved to bottom of page and will be updated by end of the week.
