I was not that bothered about the third GTA outing. Dispite the fact that GTA and GTA2 were great games, fun to just drive around the city maiming and stealing
anything or one that you saw, finding the Tank and secret cars... then there was the missions too.
But Grand Theft Auto III has undergone a major overall. I bought the game, unplayed or without any advice from anyone. I got it home
stuck it in my Playstation 2 and was off. Its like Driver2 in gameplay, inc. getting orders in FMV from various gangsters
in the city of Liberty. the city is in three parts, part one is the biggest area, it has everything you
remember from the last outings, ind Police cars, Ambulance and Fire Engines. If you are not on a mission you can
earn money by being a taxi driver or a firefighter, to name but two. The fun part are the ramps that
are scattered around the city, If you do a stunt, you get money, or jump onto a building to find hidden bits, like
weapons and tasks etc (I jumped a secret car onto the overhead railway!!). If your energy goes down you can get it back up by collecting a lady
of the night and going somewhere quiet. I do not have a memory card at the moment so I have spent
loads of time looking for secrets and shortcuts, of which there is a few!! You can also beat up pedestrians
with a some fight moves, kicking, punching and baseball bats are favored. Kill the pedestrian and get
their money or other stuff, be warned they do fight back, I had a car stole off me as I waited
for a prossi to stop by. This game blows away everything you have played before.. get it or else
you will be sorry!!!
You have many choices of view to play with inc. the oldr overhead and driver style veiw, but
the best is a first person driving veiw, which if you look left or right you can see the driver and or any passengers. The rear veiw has a realistic interea view
of whatever vehicle you are driving. The sound is the major flaw, not that its crap or anything, just that
the radios are less inhibited than before and the language is strong. There is a funny advert about
mail order Giraffes, but the humor is very Chubby Brown styley.
