A differnt look this season with all stuff from committee just getting posted in order

10-09-06
                                                NOTES FROM THE CHAIRMAN

I would like to thank Steeles Removals for sponsoring the last meeting, Today's sponsor is Steve Hardy number 57,
and his business is advertised at the moment as TMS Racing it is going to be called TMS Motor sport. We wish Steve all
the very best in his new venture. The Super bangers are racing for the Malcolm Hall trophy in there final today.

Last meeting, weather wise was pretty good until later on in the afternoon we had a great big downpour, soaking everybody
through, but it didn't spoil the racing.

Dave "Gayboy" Cuthbert was back in the bangers again, I wonder if his super is back running. The kitchen sink is still
on the car, I suppose his wife has to wait until he gets home before she can do the washing up.

Well what happened to the caravans, 20 booked in and only 13 turned up to race. We had even had less than last year but
they still put on a good show. This year there didn't seem to be as much mess as in previous years. With some of the
cars starting to race on yellow flags before the green came out, at the committee meeting it was decided that the race
be declared void.
The committee and I would like to thank the very few people who helped to clear the caravan debris off the track, and
also the people who used the skip to put the rubbish in when clearing out the caravans.
I would like to personally thank the people who did put the effort in to bring a caravan because if nobody put the
effort in the meeting would be boring, also a big thank you to Paul Postlethwaite for sorting the road sweeper out for
the day. It's not what you know its who. The feed back we got from the super banger class was better than in previous
years as they didn't receive as many punctures with the nails, something to think about doing again next year.

The club has received an extra tractor on loan until the end of the season from Jimmy White so a big thanks to you Jimmy,
also I would like to thank Rodney for giving the club the Mondeo for using it as a pace car.

We tried a new cover for the last meetings program and it seemed to go down well with the spectators, so if the printers
can do the same again for the last few meetings we should be looking at a more colorful program.
In this meetings program you can see the photos from the 10 on 10 with Buxton, Dave pierce, Promoter of Buxton sent us a
copy, and maybe we should give Buxton a chance at another race next year. Hope you are keeping well Dave.

Litter is still proving to be a massive problem; the club is still offering the children the bag of sweets for a bag of
litter. If we have any older children that can go up towards the disabled parking area and further a field away from
the shop area it would be greatly appreciated.

The removal of the tyres out from the skip has cost over 1000.00, so please do not bring tyres to the track for dumping
take them home with you.

Trevor Illingworth our safety officer got married the other week to a lovely lady named Sandra, we would like to wish
them all the very best for the future. He should be back with us today if his new wife hasn't worn him out with all
the odd jobs he probably had to do around the house.

A gentleman was up last meeting selling boots for 15.00, we are trying to get him up for Championship day. All drivers
in all classes are being advised from the committee to wear sturdy boots instead of trainers when driving on the track.
This is for your own safety as you can go to work the next day instead of being at home with a broken ankle or foot.

Team meeting is only just around the corner, all the letters have been sent out if we could ask you to contact Angela
on 015395 67706 for you to book in your teams. Hopefully at the next meeting I will have more information for you, if
this goes ahead and at the moment it's a big if, the Stock Cars will be the supporting formula, if it doesn't go ahead
then we will run it as a normal meeting. Maybe this information will get you to race the team meeting the winning team
will receive 1000.00, 2nd will get 400.00 and 3rd will get 200.00. Furthest traveled will receive 100.00, DD winner will
receive 100.00, Best presented car will receive 50.00, the biggest wreck of a car will receive 50.00 and the most
entertaining driver will receive 50.00.

Championship day is for the MEMBERS of the club ONLY as it states in the rule book. You must have raced at least 3
meetings, with the day being so long there will be NO practice laps before hand for any of the classes.
The drivers meeting will be held at 11.30am, straight after the parade lap will take place with the mini stox coming
on last to leave your cars on the track for the first race. It will be a good idea for some of you to touch your cars
up with paint and even give them a wash you will be videoed.

KEEP COOL HAVE FUN AND ENJOY

 27-08-09 NOTES FROM THE CHAIRMAN

Today is the caravans and we should have 20 in all; they should be fastened on by either tow bar or chain NOT a rope.
In the interval NO children are allowed on the track but any able bodied adult to help with the cleaning up would be
greatly appreciated.

I would like to thank the Liverpool Invaders for sponsoring the last meeting and snorksstore.com. Tony sells all the
computer games on his website and in the track shop in the interval. They work out cheaper than in the shops as he has
no overheads.
Today's meeting is being sponsored by Steeles removal, Sowerby Woods Industrial Estate, Barrow.

Everybody who raced in the Hesp did Gary proud as they had a good turnout of old cars.
We had to alter the race card and put the mini stox on first as people had informed us that there was a holdup on the
A590 and they had seen bangers and robins in the holdup. Some bangers and 3 robins all came in after the racing had
started.

The day started off bad when the tractor broke down when it started off from Gerald's yard with clutch trouble. We had
to ring a local farmer to see if we could borrow another one, in the afternoon the rain came and put dampeners on
things getting everyone wet. On the whole the day seemed to drag on and on.
There was a good turn out of robins, 18 in all the most I have seen racing here at Warton they were great to watch.
When one turned over it was soon back on its 3 wheels, they just seemed to fall to bits on impact. Paul Robinson got
hurt in one race and was complaining of neck and back pain so he was taken to hospital for a check up but he was soon
back at the track to carry on where he left off, a very speedy recovery.

Tut Knowles took a cut to his elbow whilst out racing in the robin class, over the first week his elbow became three
times the size. After going to the hospital for a check up he was told he would be kept in over night on a drip, it
actually turned out that on the Sunday he needed to have an operation on it. We would like to wish you all the best
and a speedy recovery.

Number 53 Dave ' Gayboy'Cuthbert was back in the bangers today he left his super at home he was probably most happy to
get banging again.
After the Hesp race the cars joined in with the rest of the heats, there were quite a few rule infringements in this
class, 41, 266, 507 and 599 have all had warning letters. There was a good turnout of bangers for the DD; it was quite
exceptional again with the amount of cars joining in the action.

MINI STOX NOTICE
There are still many big problems with this class:
ROOF COLOURS - You must fully paint your roof with the appropriate colour, some of you are already on your last warning,
and if this is not followed out then you will not be allowed to race.

GREEN FLAG - Jumping the green flag is still going on, if you jump the green flag then you will be black flagged and
will not be allowed to race.

STOCK CARS NOTICE
After the incidents with cars 24 and 135 both have received bans. 24 Richard Harris has received 2 meeting ban due to
deliberate fencing of car 135 and pushing him into a parked car. 135 Mick Howarth has received a 6 meeting ban due to
deliberate fencing of car 24, violent behavior by himself and his mechanic. The committee will not tolerate this kind
of behavior; spectators come to see racing not assaults.
911 Peter Kaulbarsch has sold his stock car and gone into the Formula 1, we wish him all the best in the new venture.

ALL DRIVERS IN ALL CLASSES MUST WEAR NECK BRACES.
If any drivers have any complaints with any other driver, it MUST be reported to a member of the committee and not
directed to the party's involved.

On a sad note George Kenyon who does the disable parking, his wife was taken to hospital but later passed away. We
send George our sincere condolences.

Dave Pierce, Buxton Promoter has sent us an email reading:
Firstly please pass on my thanks from everybody at Buxton Raceway to your banger lads who raced with us on the 10 on
10 - just as when we came to Warton - all conducted in true banger spirit.

I had trouble splitting them into two groups for the team photos as they were all having a good laugh and reliving the
race - exactly how it should be.

I have had many bad experiences with head to heads but would have no hesitation in arranging another with Warton in the
future.

Dave went onto explain the incident which occurred at Buxton between two drivers, the driver who was injured suffered an
exposed fracture to his knee. Keith Greenwood has been suspended indefinitely from Buxton due to his actions as the
matter has now become a police matter, therefore we have been asked from Dave to respect his ban, it turn of this
Keith Greenwood will not be able to race at Warton until the matter has been resolved.

Team meeting is being held on Sunday 8 October, get yourselves together to get a team and contact Angela on 015395
67706 for a booking form, it is 40.00 a team, you can race anything up to a 2ltr but no Volvos, Carleton's or jags etc.

Any children wishing to help the club and at the same time earn themselves some sweets then get yourselves along to the
shop and pick up a rubbish bag to collect litter off the ground. Return your full bag of litter and you will receive
your bag of sweets. This is proving to be working well but if we could ask some older children to work along the
spectator area where the trade stands are it would be greatly appreciated.

Combine insurance, which most of the drivers have taken personal insurance with this company, well 2 of our members
who have had accidents at work have been paid out and are happy with the settlement.
If you are one of the few that hasn't taken the insurance out then give Glyn a ring on 07786006860.

Appearance money is being paid again today for the driver members of the club, so get yourselves along to Shirley's
office to collect.

Next meeting is on Sunday 10th September, starting at 12 noon, where we are having mini stox, super bangers, stock
cars and 2 litre bangers.
Hope you all have a good day today

    23-07-06 NOTES FROM THE CHAIRMAN

Hi to all, I would like to thank C & M Motors for sponsoring the last meeting. Today is Hawthorns Restaurant situated
on Bye Pass Road, Bolton - Le - Sands, they can't be here today as Sundays is one of their busiest days (I'm going to
treat the wife to lunch one day when I'm better).

Weather didn't do us any favors with the rain but didn't spoil the days racing. Junior bangers were down in numbers
but there were plenty of knocks and a couple of rolls from the drivers. The drivers really put on a good show and were
entertaining; the next junior banger meeting is on December 27th, look on the top 12 driver page to see the points.

Metros was a really good turn out being nearly 40 cars, we had to put on 2 extra races. On the consolation for the
lads to qualify for the metro final, straight after the final the people who didn't qualify went out to race, it was
like a DD, they must have enjoyed themselves. Everyone went out then to metro mechanics and DD. Even though it was
nudge and spin only there was plenty of action, loads of nudges and lots of smashes.

Stock cars were down in numbers, they must have stayed in to watch the footy or tennis. We didn't have to split these
into 3 heats they were all out in 2 heats. As of going to press the points in this class is very very close the top 2
drivers only having 1 point in it, and 3rd place closing in on them both. The driving in this class is outstanding by
a lot of the drivers. , keep it up lads.

Super bangers were slightly down in the numbers as well as a couple of them had brought metros to race. The racing in
this class is getting very fast; it was fast but is now getting faster. The blue flag was used at the last meeting but
we are no longer using it, I will just remind ALL the super banger drivers you are a nudge and spin class only but keep
up the good standard of racing that you have.

NOTICE TO ALL CLASSES
When going to get scrutineered please take with you your neck brace along with you helmets.
Any children on race days that would like to pick up litter you can. Every bag full you have you will earn yourself a
bag of sweets; you can pick up a bag to put the litter in from the shop.

Combine insurance came to see the committee the other week to give us an update, some of you have already took the
personal drivers insurance out, for those of you who hasn't I will give you the prices again. 16 years and younger
starts at 1.07, this keeps in force after the 16th birthday if the insurance does not lapse. The basic plan starts
from 2.00 per week depending on the cover.
The month is 9.50 for the basic, 14.50 for the standard and 19.00 for the full unit; the insurance policy covers you
24 hours a day, you can contact Glyn Omerod on 07786006860.

The program last meeting you may have noticed Snorks Thorts was missing, all the articles have to be in to go to the
printers by the following Sunday, with Snork working through the week he hasn't got the time to type them up and send
them by the deadline. So his report instead of being in the program he is going to put them straight onto his website.
If any of you hasn't got a computer I'm sure if you ask Tony he might print them off for you.

Dates for your diary on 27 August we are having the caravan race, it is the first 20 caravans that are booked in will
be able to race. The caravans must be fastened on by either tow bar or chain NOT A ROPE. In the interval NO CHILDREN
are allowed onto the track at all due to our Health and Safety regulations. Your caravans must be no longer than 15
foot, as a safety measure the committee is asking for you to put a ½ inch mesh on the front of your banger on the
drivers side of the car.
Any help we receive on the day during the cleaning up from any able-bodied adult would be greatly appreciated.
To book in your caravan give Angela a ring on 015395 67706 or email on angelapostle@btinternet.com, I have been
informed there are only 6 places left so get ringing.

Don't forget the Buxton V Warton return leg on Sunday July 30th at Buxton, Warton are in the lead with 19 points and
Buxton has 15 points so go along and support the lads.
Team meeting is going to take place on Oct 8th so get yourselves together and get teams. To book in your team please
ring Angela on 015395 67706 it is 40.00 a team, you can race anything up to 2litre but no Carletons, Volvos or Jags etc.

Today we have something different to watch a visiting formula called Modstox; they are similar to a stock car only
smaller and cheaper and will be having 2 heats and a final straight after the stock car class. Also today is the
1400cc bangers meeting, we should see some of the metros back today from the previous meeting. It is a point scoring
meeting again today which will be added on to the 2 litre points.

Next meeting is on Sunday August 6th with the much waited Gary Hesp memorial meeting. This has been getting bigger and
better every time this has run, I'm sure we are in for another good one this year. The first race of the day will be
the Gary Hesp 1800cc RWD race, and then the rest of the banger races will be up to 2 litres.
Also we have the Robin Reliants, EVERY robin on the track will receive 25.00, I will then give 5.00 making it 30.00
per driver and Graham Hayhurst is giving 25.00 to the Robin DD winner.
The super bangers, stock cars and the mini stox are all on this day as well.

Hope to see you all back here for another good meeting.

 9-07-06 NOTES FROM THE CHAIRMAN

Here we are again for another good days racing. Last meeting we seem to do ok with the weather. The people who stayed
away to watch the football I hope you all enjoyed it (I missed it).

I would like to thank The Bay Radio for sponsoring the last meeting, they usually come down with the radio van for the
day but didn't this year as they were probably following the football.
Today's meeting is being sponsored by C&M Motors of Scriffen Lane, Galgate. You can see there work place when passing
on the motorway.

The last 12 months have soon past and we are here again with Metros, it doesn't seem all that long since they were last
here. In all the heats it is NUDGE AND SPIN ONLY, then go for it but remember NO following in, NO drivers door and NO
turning it around, you will be allowed to do all the turning around you want in the DD.
Junior Bangers are back with us again today, it is nudge and spin only in all of your races. If we get some drives that
we usually get and some of those from the Warton on the Roses Meet then we should be in for some fantastic racing, so
don't prove me wrong you youngsters and really enjoy yourselves.

At the last meeting a good turn out of bangers but I thought a bit boring in all the races with some cars just driving
around and not giving much action. The spectators were quiet not shouting, I think the day needed No 41 Dan Steele to
liven up the racing abit.
The DD was the best, things started to happen, hits were being made, smoke was bellowing out of one car making the
track almost invisible. Spectators started to shout and cheer, they seemed to really enjoy it. The winner of the DD
was 665 Paul Pennington. Well done drivers!

Team racing in all of the classes is not allowed, last couple of meetings we have found that certain people have been
team racing, please refer to your book and read rule No 44. Stock cars, just to remind you all you are racing in a full
contact formula.
Super Bangers are putting on a good display of racing, all the racing in this class is very close and know we have 53
Dave Cuthbert back with us joining in, so keep your eyes on 439 Jay Kellett, 964 Anthony Whittaker and 244 Martin Makim.

Some dates for your diary, on August 6th Gary Hesp Memorial meeting - this has been getting bigger and better every time
this has run, lets hope this years another good one. The first banger race of the day will be the Gary Hesp race,
1800cc RWD, then the rest of the banger heats are 2ltr.
Robin Reliants are on the same day, EVERY robin on the track will receive 25.00, I will give 5.00 making it 30.00 and
Graham Hayhurst is giving 25.00 to the robin DD winner.

August 27 is the caravan meeting; it is the first 20 caravans to book in that will race, caravans must be fastened on
either by tow bar or chain NOT A ROPE. In the interval NO CHILDREN are allowed onto the track at all due to our health
and safety regulations.
Your caravans must be no longer than 15 foot, as a safety measure the committee and I are asking you to put a ½ inch
mesh on the front of your banger on the drivers side of the car.
Any help we receive on that day during the cleaning up from any able-bodied adult would be greatly appreciated.
To book your caravan in give Angela a ring on 015395 67706 or email angelapostle@btinternet.com.

Don't forget the Warton V Buxton return leg at Buxton on Sunday July 30th, we won last time, let's see if we can win
again so try and get along and support your lads.
Team meeting is being held on Sunday Oct 8th get yourselves a team and get booked in with Angela, it is 40.00 a team.
You can race anything up to 2ltr but no Carletons, Volvos or Jags.

Next meeting is on Sunday July 23rd, we are having the juniors back in their mini stox, super bangers, stock cars and
the 1400cc bangers.
The 1400cc banger drivers will be racing for points and the points you earn today as well will be added on to the 2ltr
points.
We also have a guest formula coming the Modstox, these first started back in 1993 by Harry Keeling, ex F1 Driver he
built a chassis to accommodate the Fiat 126 engine, gearbox and suspension.

05-03-06 NOTES FROM THE CHAIRMAN

Hello and welcome to everyone the first meeting of 2006 season, Metal Mania V. We have a few drivers from across the
water and some top teams and drivers from across the country.

Today is prize money, I here you say goody goody!

Trophies as well up for grabs, the most destructive driver, biggest wreck, furthest travelled, best presented car.

There will be NO Drivers dooring, NO jacking up of empty cars and NO turning the car around, until the DD. Lets keep it
 entertaining but enjoyable and safe.

We are pleased to tell you that the insurance is now in place for the forthcoming season.

Mini Stox are the supporting formula for this season’s metal mania. With this being a fun meeting the minis will not
be racing for points but for trophies

Temp Plant Ltd is sponsoring the meeting today. They are the firm that did the 400ft steel work around the track.

I would like to thank Riverside Press for sponsoring the Christmas Bonanza.

I would like to thank everyone who came up to the track and helped paint, do DIY and pick up the hundreds of bags of
litter that had been left. It really was appreciated.

We are looking for a part time commentator this year so if you are interested come and see me or talk to a committee
member.

Licences and memberships are £60.00 up till the 31st March, after that they will go up to £75.00, no instalments will
be in place for memberships as this was abused last season.

Day licences will be £15.00.

No other parties are allowed on to the track apart from Track Officials, St John Ambulance and of course drivers of
the cars. This is an insurance and a Health and Safety issue, anybody caught doing this will receive a substantial
ban, both driver and party.

There is going to be a race between Warton and Buxton in the 2litre bangers, each team will need 10 drivers. This
will take place at Warton 14th May and at Buxton on 30th July. What colour of cars do you want to race black or
white? This should be a good meeting; either come and see a committee member or myself.

On Sunday 26th March we will be holding a practice day. It will cost £20.00 for you to practice and set up your
cars. The time will be 10.00am till 3.00pm. You are allowed on to the track as many times as you like so come
along and make the most of the day. Trevor will be coming with his food van so there will be lots for you to buy
for your lunch.

27-12-2005 NOTES FROM THE CHAIRMAN.

Hello and welcome to Warton Stock car club today the 27th of December, the last meeting of 2005.
I would like to thank Auto Services for sponsoring the last meeting. Riverside Press is sponsoring today's meeting.
I hope you all had a good Christmas and got loads of presents, ate all the turkey and had a jolly good time. I hope
all drivers are not suffering with hangovers.

What a day the last meeting was, it seems quite along time ago now. The weather was very wet in the morning then it
brightened up later on. The racing day started, but what a day we all had.
At the beginning of the day we had 3 stock car drivers all in reach of the gold roof. With a lot of very close racing
and battling especially with 134 Alex Chapman it was 67 Pete Fawcett who came out on top after driving like a bat out
 of hell.

All classes will have 2 heats and a final and it will cost you £5.00 to race today.
Prize money up for grabs £30.00 for 1st, £20.00 for 2nd and £10.00 for 3rd; there is also a £20.00 prize for the DD
winner.
Today we have the junior bangers though this season I have seen some good drivers coming from other tracks to race.
It's a shame that we don't get many from our mini stox class.
The last meeting we had around 25 banger cars so it was a good turn out, they were very entertaining to watch with lots
of action and bangs. It was good to see Paul Woods back out having a go in the bangers only to end up with an injured
 foot.
THERE WILL BE NO FOLLOW INS TODAY IN THE BANGER CLASS.

There is going to be a race between Warton and Buxton in the 2litre bangers, each team will need 10 drivers. This will
take place at Warton on 14TH May and at Buxton on 30TH July. This should be a good meeting, team members must race
home and away, volunteers please see Norman NOW.

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL DRIVERS

METAL MANIA will know be on Sunday March 5th, with the supporting formulas being the mini stox class.
On Sunday 26th March we will be holding a practice day. It will be £20.00 for you to practice and set your cars up.
The time will be from 10.00am till 3.00pm. You will be allowed onto the track as many times as you like so come along
and make the most of the day. Trevor will be coming with his food van so there will be lots for you to buy for your
lunch.

An update for you about the fixing of the side of the track, about 400ft has now been finished, so please be careful
that you don't mark it. I was going to charge everybody for looking at it but being a nice person I wont.
I would like to thank the very few people that came to clean up the track and spectator area we were all like drowned
rats, so thank you very much I very much appreciate it.

The first few meetings in 2005 were unbelievable with accidents at every meeting. Lancaster hospital was going to
reserve 2 beds for us and rename it Warton stock car wards because of the amount of drivers landing up in there. Lets
not make the beginning of 2006 the same. Speaking of 2006 look out as we are going to be holding something special so
watch this space.

I hope you all enjoyed the presentation dance; I would like to thank Paul for commentating and to thank Angela and Paul
for doing the raffle, also Shirley for handing me the trophies.
Thanks goes to our retiring stock car queen Helen; she has done an excellent job over the season, we wish her all the
best for the future. Our new stock car queen for 2006 is Hayley Nelson.

A couple of dates for your diary, the AGM is on Wednesday 25th January at the ex-serviceman's club starting at 8.00pm
and on Wednesday 8th February we will be holding the registration meeting at the ex-serviceman's club at 8.00 pm. Go
and see Shirley for your cards with the dates on.

Today is the last time to put your proposals in for rule changes for your class for the AGM, also if you want to come
onto the committee, but think before you put your name in. The jobs on the track come first plus committee rolls, so
if you are a driver or you don't come up every meeting please think about your decision.
Many thanks to the St Johns ambulance team and everybody else who helps out on race days and the people who come down
on some Sundays to help clean or do repair work. Not forgetting the committee members a big thanks to them especially
to Graham who has helped me a lot and for standing in as vice chairman since Gerald's accident. I do appreciate all
for what you have done for me THANK YOU.

SPECIAL NOTICE
After the end of today's race meeting the club will be losing a very valued member of the club, she has been here from
the beginning starting off by supporting her husband when he raced and then to support her husband Mick when he became
chairman and then to go on and become the clubs treasurer and publicity. You guessed I am talking about Val O'Brien.
I am sure you will all agree over the many years Val has done an absolute fantastic job and will be missed.
WE ALL WISH YOU EVERY HAPPINESS AND BEST WISHES FOR THE FUTURE VAL.

Taking over from Val doing the treasurer and publicity is Angela Postlethwaite; before you all ask who is Angela,
Angela is my daughter and also works on the paying in gate, plus she fills in when lap scorers are short.
