TRACK RULES

1.	OFFICIALS
	CLERK OF THE COURSE
	STARTER.
	ASSISTANT STARTER.
	4 MARSHALS ON IN-FIELD.
	1 MARSHAL ON IN GATE (STANDS BY IN GATE DURING RACING).
	1 MARSHAL ON OUTSIDE BEND (UP FROM STARTER).
	ALL ABOVE TO WEAR HEADSETS.

2.	FLAGS
	GREEN	START OF RACE, AS CARS COME OFF BEND INTO START/FINISH.
	CHEQUERED	RACE WON, KEEP RACING UNTIL RED FLAGS, (LAP SCORERS STILL 	SCORING RACE UNTIL RED FLAGS SHOWN).
	RED	STOP RACING IMMEDIATELY, DO NOT OVERTAKE ANYONE, STOP 	MOVING AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.  IF WORK REQUIRED 	ON 
CAR, MUST 	REQUEST THIS WITH STARTER OR MARSHALS, GIVE APPROXIMATE 	TIME REQUIRED TO DO THE WORK, MOVE THE CAR 
INTO THE IN-	FIELD IF POSSIBLE.  IF WORK NOT COMPLETED BY THE TIME RACE 	READY TO START AGAIN, IT WILL BE UP TO 
THE STARTER WHETHER 	THE RACE WILL BE HELD UP, IN CONJUNCTION WITH AT LEAST 2 	COMMITTEE MEMBERS.
	YELLOW	DRIVE WITH CAUTION.
	WAVING	STOP RACING, MOVE THROUGH GEARS TO FIRST, DO NOT 
YELLOW	OVERTAKE ANYONE, KEEP EYES ON STARTER/MARSHALS.  LAP 	SCORING WILL CONTINUE UNDER WAVING YELLOWS.  ON 
PROBLEM 	BEING RESOLVED, AS THE LEAD CAR APPROACHES THE STARTER 	THE GREEN FLAG WILL BE DROPPED AND RACING 
CONTINUED.  IF 	THE STARTER IN UNSURE OF THE LEADER, HE 	WILL CALL RED 	FLAGS AND CARS WILL BE LINED UP ON THE
 START GRID IN THE 	ORDER FROM THE LAP SCORERS. A ROLLING LAP AND GREEN FLAG 	WILL BE DROPPED AS LEAD CAR COMES 
OUT OF PITS BEND.
	BLACK	PULL INTO IN FIELD IMMEDIATELY, YOU HAVE CONTRAVENED 	ONE OR MORE OF THE CLUB RULES OR HAVE A PROBLEM
 WITH 	YOUR CAR.  ONLY IF A MARSHAL IS 100% CERTAIN WILL HE GIVE 	THE BLACK FLAG.  ON THE LAST LAP NO-ONE WILL BE
 BLACK 	FLAGGED FOR A FLAT TYRE.

4.	LAPS
	FINAL	15 LAPS, PLUS ROLLING LAP.
	GRAND NATIONAL	12 LAPS, PLUS ROLLING LAP.
	POINT SCORING HEATS	10 LAPS, PLUS ROLLING LAP.
	ONLY 9 CARS	9 LAPS, PLUS ROLLING LAP.
	ONLY 8 CARS	8 LAPS, NO ROLLING LAP, CARS LINE UP IN ROOF COLOURS
	ONLY 7 CARS	7 LAPS, NO ROLLING LAP, CARS LINE UP IN ROOF COLOURS
	ONLY 6 CARS	6 LAPS, NO ROLLING LAP, CARS LINE UP IN ROOF COLOURS
	ONLY 5 CARS OR LESS	RACE CANCELLED.

5.	POINTS
	POINTS WILL BE SCORED BY THE FIRST EIGHT TO FINISH.  POINTS SCORED WILL BE 12, 9, 7, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.
	POINTS AWARDED FOR CONSOLATION RACES WILL BE THE FIRST SIX ONLY.  POINTS WILL BE 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.
	THE GRAND NATIONAL.  STOCK CARS, SUPER BANGERS AND MINI STOX.  THE WINNER OF THE FINAL TO START AT THE FRONT, ONE
 LAP DOWN.  IF THIS CAR FINISHES IN THE POINTS, IT WILL SCORE DOUBLE POINTS.

6.	RACING
	1ST RACE	15 MINUTES BEFORE START OF 1ST RACE ALL DRIVERS IN 1ST HEAT 	TO LINE THEIR CARS UP OUTSIDE OF IN
 GATE, SO THAT AS SOON AS 	DRIVERS MEETING HAS FINISHED CARS CAN LINE UP READY TO 	START ON TIME.
	ROLLING LAP	(UNLESS LESS THAN 9 CARS) UNDER YELLOW FLAGS, BETWEEN THE 	OUT GATE AND START LINE, THE GREEN FLAG
 WILL BE DROPPED.  	ANY RACING/OVERTAKING BEFORE GREEN FLAG DROPPED, THE 	OFFENDING CAR(S) WILL BE BLACK FLAGGED.
	5 LAPS TO GO	AND A 5 LAP BOARD WILL BE SHOWN, ETC.
	ON LAST LAP	LEAD CAR WILL BE GIVEN THE CHEQUERED FLAG.  ALL CARS CARRY 	ON RACING UNTIL RED FLAGS ARE SHOWN.  
(THIS IS BECAUSE LAP 	SCORERS KEEP ON SCORING UNTIL THEY HAVE SEEN RED FLAGS).  	RED FLAGS AFTER RACE COMPLETED, 
MOVE SLOWLY TO OUT GATE 	AND IF YOU CAN, PUSH OFF ANY CAR NEAR TO YOU, TO ASSIST IN A 	SPEEDY CLEAR-UP OF THE 
TRACK.

7.	DURING RACING	RED FLAGS
	IN FIRST QUARTER OF RACE	COMPLETE RE-START
	AFTER FIRST QUARTER	WAVING YELLOWS UNTIL LEAD CAR NEARING START 	AND FINISH LINE AND THEN GREEN.
	IF RACE ORDER NOT KNOWN	THEN CARS WILL LINE UP IN THE ORDER OF THE LAP 	SCORERS, ROLLING LAP AND GREEN FLAG.
	A RACE WILL NOT BE AUTOMATICALLY STOPPED FOR A FIRE IN A CAR ON THE IN-FIELD.

8.	DRIVERS ABANDONING THEIR CAR DURING A RACE MUST:-
	RETIRE TO PART OF THE CENTRE NOT IN USE.
	RETIRE TO A SAFE PART OF THE TRACK PERIMETER OR
	DRIVER MUST STAY IN CAR WITH SEAT BELT AND HELMET FASTENED IF CAR IS INCAPACITATED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE TRACK UNTIL
 TOLD TO LEAVE HIS CAR BY A MARSHAL.
 

a)	ALL DRIVERS MUST LEAVE ON THEIR HELMET IF LEAVING THEIR CAR.
b)	ANY DRIVER CUTTING ACROSS THE INFIELD DURING A RACE WILL BE PENALISED.

9.	FIGHTING WILL NOT BE TOLERATED ON OR OFF THE TRACK.  ANY-ONE FIGHTING WILL BE SUSPENDED FOR THE REST OF THE MEETING,
 FOLLOWED BY A TWO MEETING MINIMUM BAN.  THIS WILL BE CONFIRMED BY THE COMMITTEE ON THE DAY.  IF THE INCIDENT IS DEEMED
 SERIOUS ENOUGH, FURTHER ACTION MAY BE TAKEN AT THE SUBSEQUENT COMMITTEE MEETING, ON THE WEDNESDAY FOLLOWING THE RACE
 MEETING.  ANY LETTERS CONCERNED WITH THE INCIDENT MUST BE RECEIVED BY THAT MEETING.  THE OFFENDING DRIVER MAY ATTEND
 THE SUBSEQUENT COMMITTEE MEETING TO PLEAD HIS CASE.

10.	ANY OTHER INCIDENTS OR QUERIES REGARDING ANY PARTICULAR RACE, CAN BE RESOLVED ON THE DAY BY THE COMMITTEE.

11.	AGRESSIVE OR ABUSIVE BEHAVIOUR TOWARDS AN OFFICIAL OR MARSHAL WILL RESULT IN AN IMMEDIATE SUSPENSION FOR THE REST
 OF THE MEETING AND WILL BE DISCUSSED FURTHER AT THE SUBSEQUENT COMMITTEE MEETING.

12.	NO ONE, OTHER THAN DRIVERS, TRACK OFFICIALS AND ST. JOHNS AMBULANCE CREWS ARE ALLOWED ON THE TRACK, EVEN DURING 
PRACTICE SESSIONS.

13.	ANY INCIDENTS ON THE TRACK WHERE A CAR OR CARS ARE INVOLVED WITH INJURED DRIVERS INSIDE, IT IS UP TO TRACK MARSHALS
 AND THE COMMITTEE TO ENSURE THAT NO ONE OTHER THAN THE APPROPRIATE OFFICIALS ARE ALLOWED ON THE TRACK.  TWO MARSHALS,
 COMMITTEE MEMBERS TO BE ON EACH GATE TO ENSURE THIS IS ENFORCED.

ALL CARS

14.	A 2 MINUTE WARNING BUZZER WILL BE SOUNDED WHEN THE EXIT GATE IS CLOSED.  IF YOU ARE NOT ON THE TRACK WHEN THE IN 
GATE CLOSES YOU WILL MISS THAT RACE.

15.	IF YOUR CAR IS FOUND TO BE ILLEGAL WHEN YOU ARE ON THE TRACK YOU WILL NOT HAVE THE OPTION OF FIXING IT.  YOU WILL 
WAIT OUT THE RACE IN THE CENTRE OF THE TRACK.

6.	THE DRIVER IS AT ALL TIMES RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CONDUCT OF HIS MACHINE AND PARTIES ACCOMPANYING HIM TO RACE MEETINGS.

17.	DRIVERS AND MECHANICS ARE NOT TO DRINK ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES.

18.	DRIVERS MUST OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS OF PIT AND RACE MARSHALS AT ALL TIMES.

19.	DRIVERS AND MECHANICS MUST, AT ALL TIMES, SHOW COURTESY AND CONSIDERATION TO ANY MEMBER OF THE PUBLIC WHO HAPPENS 
TO HAVE GAINED ACCESS TO THE PITS AREA.  CONTRAVENTION OF THIS RULE WILL RESULT IN AN IMMEDIATE WARNING.

20.	ANY CAR RACING OTHER THAN ON THE TRACK, OR GOING OUT OF THE PIT BOUNDARIES, WILL RECEIVE A WARNING.




21.	ALL CARS AND DRIVERS MUST ATTEND THE CIRCUIT AND REPORT TO THE SCRUTINEER 45 MINUTES BEFORE PUBLISHED STARTING 
TIMES.  ANY DRIVER WHO HAS NOT BOOKED IN AT THE PITS AT LEAST 30 MINUTES BEFORE STARTING TIME WILL FORFEIT HIS RIGHT TO
 RACE IN HEATS AND FINAL.  DAY LICENCES WILL BE ALLOWED TO AWAY BANGER DRIVERS WHO MUST BOOK IN BY PHONE PRIOR TO 
ATTENDING A MEETING.

22.	
a)	ONLY REGISTERED DRIVERS WILL BE ALLOWED TO DRIVE IN HEATS, CONSOLATION AND FINALS AND CLAIM APPEARANCE MONEY.  ALL 
DRIVERS MUST DRIVE UNDER THEIR OWN NUMBER WITH THE SAME CAR.
b)	TO QUALIFY FOR RACING ON CHAMPIONSHIP DAY ALL DRIVERS MUST RACE OR PASS SCRUTINEERING FOR A MINIMUM OF THREE 
MEETINGS PRIOR TO CHAMPIONSHIP MEETING.  THESE THREE MEETINGS NEED NOT BE CONSECUTIVE.  QUALIFICATION IS REQUIRED IN 
EACH CLASS.
c)	ALL DRIVERS WILL BE AT LEAST 17 YEARS OF AGE, EXCEPT MINI STOX.

23.	ALL DRIVERS HAVE THE RIGHT TO ASK THE COMMITTEE TO ENQUIRE INTO ANY MATTER OR BRING UP A CHARGE AGAINST ANOTHER 
MEMBER.  THIS REQUEST OR CHARGE MUST BE MADE IN WRITING.  A DRIVER CAN ASK TWO COMMITTEE MEMBERS AND CLERK OF THE 
COURSE TO ADJUDICATE IMMEDIATELY AFTER A MEETING OF ANY INCIDENT WHICH HAS OCCURRED DURING RACING.  THE COMMITTEE 
MEMBERS AND CLERK OF THE COURSE ARE BOUND TO ADJUDICATE BUT THE RECOMMENDATIONS MAY BE HELD BACK, UNTIL THE FIRST 
DRIVERS MEETING FOLLOWING, AT THE DISCRETION OF THE COMMITTEE MEMBERS.  IF THE CONDUCT OF A DRIVER IS TO BE DISCUSSED 
AT THE COMMITTEE MEETING FOLLOWING RACE DAY THE DRIVER WILL HAVE THE OPTION OF ATTENDING IN ORDER TO DEFEND HIMSELF. 
THE DECISION OF THE COMMITTEE MEMBERS IS FINAL.

24.	ALL CARS, TRAILERS AND ACCESSORIES MUST BE CLEARED FROM THE CIRCUIT ON THE DAY OF THE MEETING.  IF IN DOUBT, CONTACT
 G. HOGGARTH 123, OR THE PITS OFFICE.  AT NO TIME WILL THE CLUB OR ITS MEMBERS BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY LOSS OR DAMAGE TO
 CARS OR PERSONAL PROPERTY HOWEVER CAUSED.

25.	ALL CARS ARE SUBJECT TO THE DECISION OF THE SCRUTINEER, BUT THE DRIVER MAY APPEAL TO THE CLUB COMMITTEE, PROVIDING 
THE APPEAL DOES NOT DELAY RACING.  THE DECISION OF THE CLUB COMMITTEE IS FINAL.

26.	ANY CAR WITH PROTRUSIONS LIKELY TO CAUSE DAMAGE WILL BE WARNED AND IF NOT MODIFIED SATISFACTORILY, WILL 
SUBSEQUENTLY BE DISQUALIFIED.

27.	ALL CARS MUST HAVE ADEQUATE BRAKING SYSTEMS.

28.	STARTERS MUST BE FITTED AND IN WORKING ORDER.

29.	A DRIVERS FULL SAFETY HARNESS OF 3" MUST BE FITTED, INCLUDING LAP AND SHOULDER STRAPS.  THE HARNESS MUST BE 
SECURELY FASTENED BY AT LEAST 4 POINTS TO THE ROLL CAGE IN ALL CLASSES.  HOME MADE HARNESSES NOT ALLOWED.

30.	ALL CARS MUST BE EQUIPPED WITH A FIRE EXTINGUISHER IN WORKING ORDER FITTED WITHIN REACH OF THE DRIVER.


31.	THE MAIN IGNITION SWITCH MUST BE FITTED WITHIN EASY REACH OF THE DRIVER AND MARSHALS.  IT MUST BE CLEARLY MARKED 
WITH ON AND OFF POSITIONS.

32.	ALL BATTERIES MUST BE FITTED IN A METAL, WOODEN OR PLASTIC BOX BOLTED TO THE FLOOR OF THE CAR.

33.	ALL RADIATORS FITTED INSIDE THE CAR MUST HAVE AN OVERFLOW PIPE FITTED, RUNNING TO THE FLOOR.  ANY RADIATOR INSIDE 
THE CAR MUST HAVE A SCREEN BETWEEN THE DRIVER AND THE RADIATOR.  A PLASTIC SHEET IS NOT SUFFICIENT.

34.	ALL CARS MUST BE FITTED WITH A WIRE MESH IN PLACE OF THE WINDSCREEN, WITH HOLES NOT LARGER THAN ½".  THE USE OF 
WIRE MESH IN BANGERS IS OPTIONAL BUT STRONGLY RECOMMENDED.

35.	ALL DRIVERS MUST BE EQUIPPED WITH A SAFETY HELMET OF TYPE A, E22-05, SNELL 2000 ONWARDS, FOUNDATION SA2000 HELMETS 
OF FIBREGLASS AND KEVLER WITH SHATTERPROOF GOGGLES OR VISOR.  NO PLASTIC MOULDED, PLASTIC INJECTED OR POLY-CARBON 
COMBINATIONS WILL BE ALLOWED.  ALL DRIVERS MUST WEAR FLAME RESISTANT OVERALLS.  ALL DRIVERS IN ALL CLASSES MUST WEAR 
NECK BRACES.

36.	YOUR REGISTERED NUMBER MUST BE PAINTED IN WHITE ON BLACK OR BLACK ON WHITE, ON BOTH SIDES OF THE ROOF FIN, READABLE 
AT A DISTANCE OF 25 YARDS.  THE NUMBER WILL BE 10" HIGH AND 1½" BRUSH STROKE WIDE.  ON THE SIDE OF THE CAR THE NUMERALS 
MUST BE AT LEAST 12" HIGH BY 1½" STROKE.  ROOF FINS MUST BE CLEAN PRIOR TO EACH RACE.  YOUR FULL ROOF MUST BE PAINTED 
IN YOUR CURRENT GRADE COLOUR.  THE COLOURS GOLD AND SILVER WILL NOT BE ALLOWED ON ANY ROOF OR AIROFOIL EXCEPT FOR THE 
POINTS CHAMPION (GOLD) OR THE CHAMPIONSHIP CUP WINNER (SILVER).  DRIVERS ARE REQUESTED TO PAINT THEIR CARS IN BRIGHT 
COLOURS AND KEEP THEIR PAINTWORK AS TIDY AS POSSIBLE.

37.	
a)	ALL CARS WILL RACE IN AN ANTI-CLOCKWISE DIRECTION FOR THE DURATION OF ALL RACES, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE BANGERS 
AND MINI-STOX CLASSES WHICH WILL RACE IN A CLOCK-WISE DIRECTION FOR THE DURATION OF ALL RACES EXCEPT THE DESTRUCTION 
DERBY.
b)	A CAR THAT HAS RACED IN THE SUPER BANGER CLASS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO RACE IN THE BANGER CLASS AT A LATER DATE.

38.	NO DELIBERATE RAMMING OF THE DRIVER'S DOOR IS PERMITTED, THIS INCLUDES THE DESTRUCTION DERBY.

39.	THE DECISION OF THE LAP SCORERS AS TO FINISHING POSITIONS IS FINAL.

40.	NO ONE MAY APPROACH THE LAP SCORERS DIRECTLY.  ANY QUERIES WILL BE MADE THROUGH RACE CONTROL.

41.	ANY DRIVER WARNED OF DANGEROUS PRACTICE AGAINST ANY OTHER SPECIFIED DRIVER WILL BE SUSPENDED.

42.	ANY DRIVER, MECHANIC OR SPECTATOR, WHO IS NOT IN THE RACE AND IS SEEN TO BE ON THE TRACK BEFORE THE RED FLAG IS 
DISPLAYED, WILL BE SUSPENDED.


43.	LADIES WHO RACE IN A POINT SCORING RACE, CANNOT TAKE PART IN "THE LADIES RACE" FOR THE SEASON.

44.	TEAM RACING WILL NOT BE ALLOWED.  ANY DRIVER DEEMED GUILTY OF TEAM RACING WILL BE DISQUALIFIED FROM GAINING POINTS 
OR ANY PRIZE MONEY AND APPEARANCE MONEY THAT MAY BE PAID.  FURTHER ACTION MAY BE TAKEN AT THE DISCRETION OF THE 
COMMITTEE.

45.	VOTING ON CHANGES OF CLASS FROM ONE SPECIFICATION TO A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ONE TO BE VOTED ON ONLY BY CURRENT 
MEMBERS OF THE CLASS.

46.	THE WINNERS OF THE CHAMPIONSHIP SILVER ROOF RACES WILL ASSUME THE SILVER ROOF FROM THEN ON.  THEY WILL START 
SUBSEQUENT RACES FROM THE REAR OF THE GRID, THE CURRENT HOLDER OF THE SILVER ROOF THEN REVERTS TO THE ROOF
COLOUR CORRESPONDING TO HIS OR HER POINTS TOTAL TO DATE.   THE POINTS CHAMPION ASSUMES HIS GOLD ROOF AT THE FIRST 
MEETING OF THE SEASON.  THE SECOND PLACE DRIVER MAY SPORT A BLACK AND WHITE CHEQUERED ROOF EDGED BY HIS CURRENT ROOF 
COLOUR.  THE THIRD PLACED DRIVER MAY SPORT A RED AND WHITE CHEQUERED ROOF EDGED BY HIS CURRENT ROOF COLOUR.  THE 
EDGE OR BORDER SHALL BE NOT LESS THAN 4" WIDE.  THE ROOF COLOUR FOR STOCK CARS WILL BE AS NOW, A COLOUR BOARD FRONT AND 
REAR.  WINNER OF PREVIOUS HEAT WILL START THE NEXT RACE AT THE BACK OF HIS ROOF COLOUR.

47.	DRIVERS FROM VISITING TRACKS, CLUBS OR FORMULA'S TO RACE THE ROOF COLOUR EARNED AT THEIR OWN TRACK.  DRIVERS 
RETURNING TO RACE AT WARTON AFTER A BREAK, TO RETURN PREVIOUS RETIRING ROOF COLOUR.  DRIVERS MOVING BETWEEN CLASSES 
DURING THE SEASON TO RACE SAME ROOF COLOUR.  THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO MINI-STOX DRIVERS.  MEMBERS WILL ABIDE BY CLUB 
RULES REGARDING ROOF COLOURS.  ANY DRIVER NOT DISPLAYING THE CORRECT ROOF COLOUR WILL BE GIVEN THE CHANCE TO PAINT HIS 
OR HER ROOF THE CORRECT COLOUR.  FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL MEAN EXCLUSION FROM RACING.  ROOF COLOURS ALSO APPLY AT FUN 
MEETINGS.

48.	A MINIMUM OF SIX CARS IS REQUIRED FOR A RACE TO TAKE PLACE

49.	SHOULD THE NEED ARISE, THE COMMITTEE HAS THE AUTHORITY TO BORROW MONEY ON BEHALF OF THE CLUB, BUT ONLY AFTER BEING 
RATIFIED BY A SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING.

ANY CONTRAVENTION OF THE ABOVE RULES CAN RESULT IN
THE DRIVER RECEIVING DISCIPLINARY ACTION
AND/OR SUSPENSION.

DRIVERS ARE RECOMMENDED TO OBTAIN THEIR OWN INSURANCES IN REGARD TO STOCK CAR AND BANGER RACING, AND NO RESPONSIBILITY 
WILL BE ACCEPTED BY THE CLUB MEMBERS, DRIVERS OR OFFICIALS IN RESPECT OF DEATH OR INJURY CAUSED DURING RACE MEETINGS.

NO DRIVER WILL BE ALLOWED TO FLAUNT THE CLUB REGULATIONS MORE THAN ONCE.
  IF WARNING IS IGNORED THE OFFENDERS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO RACE AT THE FOLLOWING OR SUBSEQUENT MEETINGS.  DRIVERS 
WILL ALSO FORFEIT PRIZE MONEYS AND POINTS IF IN BREACH OF RULE 16.

THE ABOVE RULES WILL BE AMENDED, OMITTED OR ADDED TO AT THE DISCRETION OF THE CLUB COMMITTEE

THE LICENCES ISSUED BY THIS CLUB ARE FOR WARTON ONLY THEY ARE NOT TRANSFERABLE.

TWO PASSPORT PHOTOGRAPHS ARE REQUIRED TO REGISTER AS A DRIVER.  
A CLUB MEMBER IS ONLY ELIGIBLE TO OBTAIN A RACING LICENCE IF HE OR SHE RACED IN A POINTS SCORING RACE DURING THE 
PREVIOUS SEASON.  IF A DRIVER HAS NOT RACED IN THE PREVIOUS SEASON HE/SHE MUST ATTEND A MEETING WITH A CAR TO EXCHANGE 
THEIR MEMBERSHIP CARD FOR A LICENCE TO RACE.  THIS IN NO WAY AFFECTS THEIR MEMBERS RIGHT TO RETAIN HIS/HER NUMBER FOR 
A SEASON AS AT PRESENT.  IF RENEWING A LICENCE TO RACE AFTER HAVING RACED IN THE PREVIOUS SEASON ONLY ONE PHOTO IS 
REQUIRED.
