All unedited by myself......
There seems to have been a cock up at the printers for the progamme on 27-12-05. Norman has asked me to say that this should have
been his notes, not the ones in the programme. so here goes, can you spot the differences ?
NOTES FROM THE CHAIRMAN. 27-12-05
Hello and welcome to Warton Stock car club today the 27th of December, the last meeting of 2005.
I would like to thank Auto Services for sponsoring the last meeting. Riverside Press is sponsoring today's meeting.
I hope you all had a good Christmas and got loads of presents, ate all the turkey and had a jolly good time. I hope
all drivers are not suffering with hangovers.
What a day the last meeting was, it seems quite along time ago now. The weather was very wet in the morning then it
brightened up later on. The racing day started, but what a day we all had.
At the beginning of the day we had 3 stock car drivers all in reach of the gold roof. With a lot of very close racing
and battling especially with 134 Alex Chapman it was 67 Pete Fawcett who came out on top after driving like a bat out
of hell.
All classes will have 2 heats and a final and it will cost you £5.00 to race today.
Prize money up for grabs £30.00 for 1st, £20.00 for 2nd and £10.00 for 3rd; there is also a £20.00 prize for the DD
winner.
Today we have the junior bangers though this season I have seen some good drivers coming from other tracks to race.
It's a shame that we don't get many from our mini stox class.
The last meeting we had around 25 banger cars so it was a good turn out, they were very entertaining to watch with
lots of action and bangs. It was good to see Paul Woods back out having a go in the bangers only to end up with an
injured foot.
THERE WILL BE NO FOLLOW INS TODAY IN THE BANGER CLASS.
There is going to be a race between Warton and Buxton in the 2litre bangers, each team will need 10 drivers. This
will take place at Warton on 14TH May and at Buxton on 30TH July. This should be a good meeting, team members must
race home and away, volunteers please see Norman NOW.
IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL DRIVERS
METAL MANIA will know be on Sunday March 5th, with the supporting formulas being the mini stox class.
On Sunday 26th March we will be holding a practice day. It will be £20.00 for you to practice and set your cars up.
The time will be from 10.00am till 3.00pm. You will be allowed onto the track as many times as you like so come along
and make the most of the day. Trevor will be coming with his food van so there will be lots for you to buy for your
lunch.
An update for you about the fixing of the side of the track, about 400ft has now been finished, so please be careful
that you don't mark it. I was going to charge everybody for looking at it but being a nice person I wont.
I would like to thank the very few people that came to clean up the track and spectator area we were all like drowned
rats, so thank you very much I very much appreciate it.
The first few meetings in 2005 were unbelievable with accidents at every meeting. Lancaster hospital was going to
reserve 2 beds for us and rename it Warton stock car wards because of the amount of drivers landing up in there. Lets
not make the beginning of 2006 the same. Speaking of 2006 look out as we are going to be holding something special so
watch this space.
I hope you all enjoyed the presentation dance; I would like to thank Paul for commentating and to thank Angela and
Paul for doing the raffle, also Shirley for handing me the trophies.
Thanks goes to our retiring stock car queen Helen; she has done an excellent job over the season, we wish her all the
best for the future. Our new stock car queen for 2006 is Hayley Nelson.
A couple of dates for your diary, the AGM is on Wednesday 25th January at the ex-serviceman's club starting at 8.00pm
and on Wednesday 8th February we will be holding the registration meeting at the ex-serviceman's club at 8.00 pm. Go
and see Shirley for your cards with the dates on.
Today is the last time to put your proposals in for rule changes for your class for the AGM, also if you want to come
onto the committee, but think before you put your name in. The jobs on the track come first plus committee rolls, so
if you are a driver or you don't come up every meeting please think about your decision.
Many thanks to the St Johns ambulance team and everybody else who helps out on race days and the people who come down
on some Sundays to help clean or do repair work. Not forgetting the committee members a big thanks to them especially
to Graham who has helped me a lot and for standing in as vice chairman since Gerald's accident. I do appreciate all
for what you have done for me THANK YOU.
SPECIAL NOTICE
After the end of today's race meeting the club will be losing a very valued member of the club, she has been here from
the beginning starting off by supporting her husband when he raced and then to support her husband Mick when he became
chairman and then to go on and become the clubs treasurer and publicity. You guessed I am talking about Val O'Brien. I am sure you will all agree over the many years Val has done an absolute fantastic job and will be missed.
WE ALL WISH YOU EVERY HAPPINESS AND BEST WISHES FOR THE FUTURE VAL.
Taking over from Val doing the treasurer and publicity is Angela Postlethwaite; before you all ask who is Angela,
Angela is my daughter and also works on the paying in gate, plus she fills in when lap scorers are short.
The club is looking for sponsors for next season to sponsor the meetings, if you are interested then please go along
and see Angela, or ring her on 07952352177.
Anyway that's all from me, have a really good new year and enjoy the celebrations, all the very best to you all for
2006.
My phone number for the time being is 07811908588.
See you at the AGM in January
Take care and have fun

NOTES FROM THE CHAIRMAN 23-10-05
Hello and welcome to the last meeting of the season here at Warton, it has gone so fast. I would like to thank Hartley
Tool Hire for sponsoring the last meeting. Today's meeting is being sponsored by Auto Services.
Well what can I say about the last meetings racing, a very good days racing in all the events.
It was an anti climax from the previous championship meeting. I was surprised at the amount of bangers we had, a great
come back from the meeting we had a few weeks back.
The NO following rule worked well, I thought the first banger race was a bit boring but livened up during the day.
In the last couple of meetings in my chairmans notes I have been asking the banger drivers what they want to race next
season, I have had no response, so last Sunday I went round with pen and paper and what a good response I got from them
all. CHEERS LADS!
The bangers are doing the same format in 2006 as they have done in 2005, half unlimited, 2lts, metros, 1400 cc and we
are trying to get a police race meeting, and 15-15 head to head with Buxton and Barrow. don't forget NO follow ins. If
you banger lads have any more ideas please let me know.
The gold tops are nearly all decided; keep a watchful eye on the stock car class, as we have the top 3 drivers all in
with a chance to take the gold roof for next season. In the super banger class we have 53 Dave Cuthbert and 802 Graeme
Black both with a chance to take 3rd place in the points.
Ann Potts in super banger 100 had an accident and hurt her back, she got worried in case they had to cut the roof off
her car, in fact so was I.
If they had to it would have meant more time lost to get her out and carry on with the racing. I rang her up on the
Monday, she was still in pain but she had taken the day off from work. Some people will do anything for a day off work
and a bit of sympathy. She will probably be back racing today, so all the best Ann you can't keep a good driver down.
MINI STOX NOTICE
Please make sure you are showing your proper roof colours and roof fins with the numbers on. A very small amount of
cars are in excess of the 58-inch width rule. Also parents please make sure the driver's harness is tight enough
around the shoulders before they start to race.
STOCK CARS NOTICE
The extra two laps in the heats worked very well at the last meeting so we are going to be doing the same again today.
In all senior classes will you please make sure driving a car in the pits and on the track it is driven by a person
over 17 years old, as if an accident happened it could lead to the clubs insurance being void involving an underage
driver if a claim was to be made.
We are still looking for somebody to train up and learn the lap scores job. We have had no comeback on this, if you
could help the club out on the odd meeting when a staff member is on holiday we would be more than grateful. If you
are interested or want to know more about the job please come and see me.
Start money again today for the driver members of the club, so get yourselves along to see Shirley.
Today is the last meeting for Paul Yeates the assistant starter he is going onto new pastures. Mary Jo his partner is
also leaving the shop and we wish them all the very best in the future and everything goes well for them. I personally
will miss them go as I don't like losing good staff and friends.
GOOD LUCK TO YOU BOTH.
Next Sunday from 10am we would like volunteers to come down to the track and help us clear away all the litter. The
more people we get the less time it will take.
Presentation dance is on Friday 18th November at the Carleton rooms in Morecambe at 8.00pm. Members will receive their
ticket nearer the time; non-members can pay £2.00 at the door on the night.
If you want to be stock car queen for next season give your name in to a committee member, you must be able to attend
the presentation dance.
I hope you all enjoy the last meeting of the season, if I don't see you at the presentation dance have a good Christmas
and I shall see you at our Christmas meeting on Tuesday 27th December, starting at 12 0`clock. We will be having super
bangers, stock cars, bangers and the juniors are in the junior bangers.

NOTES FROM THE CHAIRMAN 09-10-05
Hello and welcome to Warton, I would like to thank Ken Allen Auto Dismantlers for sponsoring last meeting. Hartley
Tool Hire is sponsoring today's meeting.
I would like to thank Steve for announcing a 1-minute silence in memory of Dave. To thank everybody who turned up to
the drivers meeting for the 1-minute silence, it was very much appreciated.
At the last meeting I mentioned in my notes it was going to be an exciting meeting, I was not far wrong with 2 drivers
being loaded up for misconduct. With the result at the committee meeting what ever the outcome no one could win either
way with both parties being sent letters.
NOTICE TO ALL BANGER DRIVERS
I have been talking to the promoter at Buxton and the chairman at Barrow Raceway about doing 15 on 15 on 15 head to
head next year. Is any of you interested in doing this, let me know.
I have also, in the last 2 meetings been asking about what size engine and what kind of cars do you want to race next
season. I still haven't heard a thing on this, I didn't get chance to get round to see any of you last meeting with
all the excitement so I will try again today.
SAFETY NOTICE TO ALL BANGER DRIVERS
Follow ins are being stopped until the end of the season in respect of the recent accidents up and down the country,
plus the banger scene we had here at Warton.
We need to attract more drivers and get more juniors coming through the ranks to gain more experience.
At the end of the day it is a sport for fun.
During the day if a car hasn't raced it can be rescrutinised but not if it has raced.
Big congratulations to all our silver roof winners, with all 4 classes have a new winner for the following season.
In the mini stox we have 101 James Hayhurst, 911 Peter Kaulbarsch in the stock cars, 949 Tony Fidoe in the bangers and
our ever so entertaining 53 Dave " Gayboy " Cuthbert in the super banger class.
Speaking of Dave he has asked me to put in the fan letter and the letter of thanks that followed.
Dear Dave gayboy
I hope you don't mind me writing to you. I have been coming to Warton just over a year now and you are my favourite
driver. I look forward to watching you race. It was brilliant to see you selected for nut behind the wheel. I have
got photos of your car on my wall and I watch the races on camcorder at home.
I've just watched some of the race when you rolled on the 15th May. It's my birthday on the 9th September and for my
birthday treat I shall be coming to Warton on the 11th.
So a special good luck and I hope you win all the super banger races. Aint life queer!
From Jessica Wootton age 11
Just a line to say how very much your kindness was appreciated, you made one little girl VERY happy, and she won't stop
talking about you!
The photo and some others that Jess has taken are enclosed (we have copies) Again many thanks for making my daughters
birthday wish come true.
Good luck today and always, regards to you and your family
Jill Wootton
The club is looking for somebody to train up and learn the lap scorers' job for next season. You would only be needed
an odd meeting to cover the staff holidays. If you are interested please come and see me.
Start money again today for the member drivers of the club, so get yourselves along to see Shirley.
Presentation dance is on Friday 18th November at the Carleton rooms in Morecambe at 8.00pm. Entrance is by ticket only
members will receive theirs nearer the time. You can pay £2.00 on the night on entrance for the non-members.
If you want to be stock car queen for next season give your name in to a committee member, you must be able to attend
the presentation dance.
The next meeting is on Sunday 23rd October where we are having the stock cars, super bangers, mini stox and 2litre
bangers.
It is hard to believe that we are nearly at the end of another season it has gone so quick.

NOTES FROM THE CHAIRMAN 25-09-05
Well last meeting was a good day with the weather. I would like to thank Steve Hardy No 57 for sponsoring the last
meeting; today's meeting is being sponsored by Ken Allen Auto Dismantlers.
Here we are again my 2nd championship meeting as leader. Time flies that fast it doesn't seem 5 minutes since we had
the last one. It looks like it is going to be another exciting meeting. Silver roof is up for grabs, there has been
more close racing this year, especially in the super banger class.
This class has attracted more drivers and spectators due to the speed and number 53 Dave Cuthbert putting more
excitement in with the odd roll and he enjoyed the limelight when he gets out of the car as you could see at the last
meeting, keep it up Dave.
In the caravan meeting Dave was nut behind the wheel, after that he had a fan that wrote to him. I here you all say
AAH.
To race today you must be a member who has qualified to race by racing 3 previous meetings, anyone who has raced 3
times as a day driver may count those meetings if he/she becomes a member by paying the difference up to a total of
£60.00, therefore gaining the right to race.
Today it is left people wondering who is going to bring bangers up with the disappointment we had at the last few
meetings with the numbers falling.
At the last meeting we only had 10 bangers so I made the decision in the heats 1 and 2 it will be nudge and spin
only. Then full banger rules.
At the last committee meeting it was suggested that there should be no follow ins with only a small amount of cars,
with respect of injures throughout the season up and down the country follow ins are suspended till further notice.
The banger class is a nation wide problem as other tracks has seen a downfall as well as us; still they are
entertaining on the day.
-
Sadly we have had another death in the banger class. The terrible news that Standlakes 91 Dave Beauchamp known as
Beech suffered fatal injuries after a follow in at Bovingdon last Sunday. Our sincerest condolences go to David`s
family and all his friends at this sad time.
There will be no practice session today as we will be starting off with a parade lap and guess what?….. You are getting
prize money. Hooray I here you all say.
In all classes anybody jumping the green flag on the rolling lap will be black-flagged and you will watch the race from
the middle.
On 28th August meeting a stock car driver asked about having a 3 or 4 wheel drive as a few of the lads were interested.
At the last race meeting in the interval I had a meeting with all the stock car drivers and I mentioned this and asked
what they thought.
What a waste of time and only one driver voted in favour and the rest was against, so needless to say it was thrown out.
No modifications will be made on this.
It has been brought to the attention of the committee that certain drivers are using Nitrous Oxide in their cars. For
the time being this is being banned and only normal road fuel can be used. When we get all the reports back on using
Nitrous Oxide only then will it be discussed by the committee if it is going to be allowed or not.
This also could be an insurance matter.
At the last meeting a few drivers approached me about spectators cars being parked in the pits. How would they go on
if a driver were to damage the spectator/private road car?
I have been in touch with the clubs insurance over this and the club would NOT be liable, the spectator would have to
go through there own insurance company,
Cars should NOT be parked in the pits at all, my quote on this if you are not towing a vehicle you shouldn't be there
and if you are and your vehicle gets damaged then it is your own fault for being there.
The club is looking for somebody to train up and do the laps scorers job for next season. You would only be needed an
odd meeting just to cover the other staffs holidays. If you are interested please come and see me.
BANGER CLASS FOR NEXT SEASON
For the meetings next year what size engines do you want to race and also what make of cars do you want? Do you want
another 1400cc meeting?
I have not heard a thing on this, does any banger driver read my notes. If I have time today I will try and get round
to speak to you personally.
HERE AT WARTON WE ONLY RACE TO THE WARTON RULE BOOK AND NOT THE O.R.C.I. RULES. IF YOU WISH FOR THIS TO ALTER THEN IT
WILL HAVE TO GO THROUGH TO THE AGM IN JANUARY.
I would like to thank John Kerr and Jimmy White for displaying their cars at Ambleton Steam gathering at the last
weekend also for promoting the club.
I would like to thank everybody who came up to the track last Sunday on very short notice to help clear the rubbish,
as after the caravan meeting with all the polystyrene being left and not cleared away the polystyrene has been blowing
all onto the tip.
The tip manager is very annoyed, as it has cost him a lot of time and money to have it cleared up on his land.
We had to have it all cleared up by the end of the month, else if not certain recommendations will be put into the
council for us to adhere to.
The committee and I plus everybody who spent all day here cleaning the rubbish away would very much appreciate it if
you will use the bins or better still take your litter home.
Next meeting is the Chequered flag trophy starting at 12 0`clock on Sunday 9th October, we will be having the stock
cars, super bangers, mini stox and the bangers.
KEEP COOL HAVE FUN AND ENJOY

NOTES FROM THE CHAIRMAN 11-09-05
Hello and welcome to Warton Stock Car club. I would like to thank my wife and I for sponsoring the last meeting. To
days sponsor for the Rose of Lancashire Trophy meeting is our own ex-super banger champion Steve Hardy of The Malt
Shovel situated in Warton. At the last meeting we were very lucky with the weather, after it had soaked us all through
it did clear up so we could enjoy the day.
I would like to apologise to the spectators for the delay in starting the caravan race, as for weeks the drivers have
been told they had to tie the caravans on by either tow bar or chain. A small minority came onto the track with the
caravans tied on by rope, so then they had to be changed over. The reason for this is we have found the caravans have
stayed on better in previous years by being tied on by tow bar or chain. As previous years being tied on with rope,
when come under pressure it has snapped off causing bad blockages.
One driver, who after he had been scrutineered decided to bolt on a steel plate between the wings under the bonnet,
This was noticed as he drove onto the track with the caravan in tow. This had to be removed for safety reasons.
The mesh over the drivers' window worked very well, nobody got hurt. The winner of the caravan race was split between
Dave Stansfield 611 and Paul Gore 149.
The committee and I would like to thank everybody who helped clear the track in the interval. Also a big thanks to all
who used the skip provided in the pits after clearing the caravan furniture out. All this is very much appreciated so
thank you very much.
I would like to personally thank all the drivers who made an effort in doing a caravan as I think that was the best
caravan race we have had here at Warton. I hope you all enjoyed the day. 16 caravans were wrecked last meeting so
that's 16 caravans less on the road, so you wont be stuck behind them when driving.
Last meeting word came back from spectators that they really enjoyed the days racing in all classes. As for the mini
stox all being in all the heats (20 cars) they weren't as boring as just watching a few cars going round the track.
I would like to thank Ollie for commentating and also our guest commentator Gilly from BBC Radio; you will see Ollie
again next season.
It was good to see Shaun Twist 3 out in the stock car class after turning 17 and moving up from the mini class, hope
you enjoyed it Shaun. We also had Daniel Bell 8 out in the stock car class.
The super banger class at the last meeting was all very close racing and I heard the majority of the super drivers
enjoyed the day. Today in the super banger final the drivers will be racing for the Malcolm Hall Memorial Trophy.
The winner of the final taking the trophy for twelve months.
The practice laps are being put in jeopardy by small minority of mini stox drivers for the abuse they are giving to
marshals on the gate. This is a privilege given to you by the committee. If this abuse continues the committee will
be reconsidering if the practice session stands.
This is not the first time this has happened so here is a final reminder. Each driver is given 5 laps; the yellow flag
will be out for 4 of those laps on the fifth and final lap the red flag will be displayed. You STOP and EXIT at the
out gate. There is no limit as to how many times you can go out onto the track and practice. The committee and I will
not be giving you another warning the practice sessions will just stop. Abuse to officials, marshals and staff will
NOT be tolerated. If it weren't for those people you would not be here racing.
All drivers must wear fireproof overalls rule number 35. It has also been brought to our attention about neck braces
not being worn as well. These two are important safety items.
Random spot checks will now be done on the bangers, checking for the cars being armoured up with extra bars.
The club is looking for somebody to learn lap scoring for next season just to cover staff holidays. If you are
interested please come and see me.
STOCK CAR IMPORTANT NOTICE
Stock car drivers, today at the interval will you all please come over to the scrutineering point. One driver has
brought it up about having a 3 or 4 wheel drive for the next season and the committee and I would like to know how
you all feel about this. This of course will have to be passed at the AGM.
BANGER CLASS FOR SEASON 2006
For the meetings next year what size engines do you want to race and also what make of cars do you want? Do you want
another 1400 meeting? We don't know unless you come and tell us, either see me or a committee member.
NOTICE TO SPECTATORS
The committee and I have had a lot of complaints about spectators letting their dogs of the lead and letting them run
on the bird sanctuary conservation area and also in the area near the sheep. If you must bring your dogs please keep
them on a lead and away from the areas where they shouldn't be. You must respect the farmer who lets us use his land
plus the conservation area.
Matt from Tipperary, Ireland are having a 2 litre banger meeting on Sunday 25th September, the same day as our
championship meeting. If you are interested you can telephone Matt on 00353 876 960 142.
Start money again today for the driver members of the club so get yourselves along to Shirley's office.
Next meeting Sunday 25th September is the Club Championship meeting, starting at 12 0`clock for MEMBERS ONLY who have
qualified to race by doing 3 meetings in each class they wish to race in.
Anyone who has raced 3 times as a day driver may count those meetings if he/she becomes a member by paying the
difference up to a total of £60.00, therefore gaining the right to race on championship day.
There will be no practice session on Championship day due to the parade lap before hand. Drivers meeting for that day
only will be at 11.30am.
The mini stox class will go in the heats all together, they will NOT be split.
For that day please make an effort and smarten your cars up.
Of course all the silver roofs will be up for grabs today. We have seen a lot of close racing in the last couple of
meetings.
In the stock car class we have our currant gold top Alex Chapman 134 now in 2nd place just 10 points behind 67 Pete
Fawcett our current silver roof with 135 Mick Howarth and 347 Hoss Nelson closely behind with the gold roof all in
their reach. Will Pete win the silver for the 2nd year or will one of the other top drivers come through and take
the silver roof.
In the super class all fighting for 2nd and 3rd position with 53 Dave Cuthbert now in 3rd. Can 53 Dave Cuthbert or
Graham Black hold off 244 Martin Makim and 349 Jay Kellett and take the silver roof?
NOT a day to be missed, with all the drivers putting even more into their driving for that silver roof.
See you all then

NOTES FROM THE CHAIRMAN 07-08-05
Last meeting was a lot better than the previous one. Thanks to Hawthorns restaurant for sponsoring the meeting. When
I get time off I might take the wife there for a meal. Todays' meeting is being sponsored by Liqui Molly (UK) LTD.
Well today is the Gary Hesp memorial meeting, what a corker of a day it was last year. This one should just be as good
if not better, with drivers coming from all over the country and from Ireland.
There will be a trophy for the best tin also we are holding a parade lap for all the old cars before the banger heat,
Also today is the robin reliants, £25.00 start money is being given to each robin and a prize of £25.00 for the DD
winner. As a safety point please do not head on in the robin reliant DD, thank you.
I didn't see a lot of racing at the last meeting I had to go on the paying in gate, as there has been a lot of abuse
thrown at the employees of the club. I have mentioned this before that if all the employees jacked it up there would
be no racing at all; they do not get extortionate wages. And guess what? It was all very quiet; there was no abuse,
shouting or name-calling, was it because I was there?
Last meeting I had in my notes an e-mail from David Chamley about litter. The bins are big enough for people to see,
but if David would like to come down to the track and paint them he would be more than welcome. The litter used to be
picked up by children but not off the floor, they were taking it OUT of the bins to collect more rubbish for more
sweets. For the safety reasons known the club is no longer allowed to have children walking about mainly in the pit
area unsupervised.
A big problem that has been pointed out is the amount of dirty nappies that are just thrown on the floor. There is a
bin in the ladies toilets that you can put them in also they can be put into the bins that are scattered all around.
This was pointed out by our Health and Hygiene.
I am pleased to report that the committee and Bad Newz have reached an agreement that will allow Bad Newz to race at
this meeting and for the remainder of the season. We look forward to welcoming them back today.
Ann Potts Super Banger 100 driver is a Grandma for the first time, we would like to wish them all the very best.
That's an extra birthday and Christmas gift (LOL).
There is a collection being held today on the paying in gate. Hugh Copeland 99 Super banger is doing a sponsored
walk from 19th to 21st August. He will be walking 50 miles over these three days and he is doing it for the Macmillan
fundraising.
Dan Steele 41 Banger Driver did us all proud at the Kings of the Peaks, Buxton as he won the title. All the very best
to Dan he did a really good job and showed us all how a banger driver should race.
Start money again today for the member drivers of the club, so get yourselves along to see Shirley in her office.
Next meeting is the caravan meeting on Sunday 28th August. The size of the caravan should be no bigger than 15 foot
and they must be fastened on by either tow bar or chain. As a safety measure the committee and I are asking you to put
a ½ inch mesh on the front of the banger on the drivers side of the car. This proved vital to one driver in the caravan
race last year.
As I am sponsoring the meeting I will be giving the winner of the caravan race a prize of £50.00. You can book in with
Val by ringing telephone number 01524 858301. The first 20 caravans booked in will race.
Well that all from me at this meeting have a good day.

NOTE FROM THE CHAIRMAN 24-07-05
Welcome again to Warton Stock car club, What a scorcher of a day at the last meeting, I went home with a sunburnt
nose and a sore neck.
I would like to thank C&M Motors for sponsoring the last meeting. Todays meeting are being sponsored by Hawthorns
restaurant.
The last meeting, the first half was like a Tom and Jerry circus. Junior bangers started the day off nearly every
lap had to be stopped and restarted. A small minority still had trouble, stalling their cars and not having their
harnesses fastened properly. But as the day went on it did get a bit better in this class. Still getting some good
driving from the young people.
There was a good turnout of metro bangers but not a lot of bumps and bangs, they were probably saving their cars for
todays meeting being a 1400cc.
It was a shame that one driver in the metro class spoiled the day by fighting, therefore being loaded up. The odd
car was just driving around, what I think was site seeing.
STOCK CARS
As the marshals are not allowed on to the track will you please slow down in the rolling lap until the green flags
are shown?
The abuse at the last meeting that was given to employees, who do their jobs for the club, was disgusting. If all
of them finished there would be no racing at all. This sort of behaviour will not be tolerated.
NOBODY is allowed in the lap box, rule numbers 11 and 40. Anybody entering the lap box and giving the lap scorers
abuse will be automatically loaded up and receive a possible ban.
Due to people climbing up on the fence on the pit straight you will notice smaller mesh has been fitted. We apologise
if this has restricted your viewing, as this was a safety requirement from the Health and Safety as people were
climbing onto the top of the fence. If the climbing on the fence persists the whole of the track side will have
to be covered with this mesh.
Assistant started is required for next season. Only the people who can attend EVERY meeting to apply, as we don't
want time wasters who can only come up now and again. It will involve training at every meeting this season and then
to attend every meeting next season. If you are interested please see Paul Naylor the Starter.
MINI STOX DRIVERS AND PARENTS
If there are 20 cars or less 2 heats as normal, 21 cars or more there will be 3 heats running a 2/3 format, so the
Grand National if cars are split will be called B final. The top half of the drivers will then race in the A final
and the bottom drivers will race in the B final.
Mick the water cart driver came up at the last meeting, he looked really well. The rest is doing him the world of
good.
We are having a big problem with litter; please use the bins that are provided all round the areas. A big problem
that has been pointed out is the amount of dirty nappies that are just thrown on the floor. There is a big bin in
the ladies toilets that you can put them in also they can be put into the bins that are scattered all around.
This was pointed out by our Health and Hygiene.
With it being advertised on the website for doing a clean up day for last Sunday, Graham and myself came up in the
morning and Tony came up in the afternoon, showing off his legs as he had his shorts on, I would just like to thank
Graham and Tony for showing the club support.
On Sunday 28th August it is the caravan meeting. The size of the caravan should be no bigger than 15foot and they
must be fastened on by either tow bar or chain.
As a safety measure the committee and I are asking you to put a ½ inch mesh on the front of the banger on the drivers
side of the car. This proved vital to one driver in the caravan race last year.
As I am sponsoring the meeting I will be giving the winner of the caravan race a prize of £50.00. You can book your
caravan in with Val telephone number 01524 858301.
Start money again today for the driver members of the club, so get yourselves off to Shirley's office to collect.
The next meeting is the long awaited Gary Hesp memorial meeting on Sunday 7th August starting at 12 noon. This is for
rear wheel drive bangers.
Also we are holding the Robin Reliants. The Super Bngers, Stock cars and Mini stox are racing.
This will not be a meeting to be missed.

NOTES FROM THE CHAIRMAN 10-07-05
Hello and welcome to Warton Stock Car Club, I would like to thank Bay Radio for sponsoring the last meeting, it was a
real scorcher of a day.
Today's meeting is being sponsored by C&M Motors, where we are having Metro Bangers and the junior bangers.
The last time we had junior bangers they really put on a great show. I have had a few e-mails from spectators since
last time they raced asking why we don't have a few more meetings with them. Maybe this is something to be thinking
about.
Cars were down in numbers again last meeting especially the bangers. The DD was very interesting, two cars made a
great effort to come out onto the track and give the spectators a show only they both wouldn't start, so after a little
bit of mechanicing on both cars it got under way (who needs garages). I couldn't believe though that after just one
hit the other car would not go again and that was it.
Some cars are getting up to the ingate late therefore the gate has already been closed. When you hear your class being
called up to the gate that is the time you need to be going. When you hear the 2-minute warning, 2 minutes is all you
will get.
Health and Safety have put a 5-mile per hour speed limit in the pits, this is for a very important reason. I have
mentioned this time and time again in my notes and at drivers meetings.
Last meeting a Stock car came off the track at great speed and did not slow down at all. As a result of this he caught
another driver, which put him on his back. He was very lucky there was no serious injury. The driver of the Stock
car got a 3-meeting ban, which in my mind is very lenient as there could have been another person being taken to
hospital with his injuries. You have all been warned for a final time, anybody speeding in the pits will be issued
with a ban if not more.
Final warnings were also issued out at the last meeting for drivers arriving late for their cars to be scrutineered.
Those drivers will start missing races if they continue with the lateness. 11.30am is the final time for scrutineering
ready for the drivers meeting to take place at 11.45am.
All your scrutineers tickets should be into Shirley for 11.45 am and no later, rule 21.
MINI STOX DRIVERS AND PARENTS
The trial of splitting the mini stox into 3 heats, in my opinion did not work at the last meeting. I have had the same
response from a lot of the mini stox parents. It has been changed slightly to see if this works.
If there is 20 cars or less 2 heats as normal, 21 cars or more there will be 3 heats running a 2/3 format, so the Grand
National if cars are split will be knocked off and the race will be called a B final. So the top half will go into
the A final and the bottom half will be in B final.
This I hope if everything goes well, fingers crossed everybody should get 3 races.
I have been to see Mick the water cart driver, when I was on my holidays. He looks well but can't do anything yet.
He has got to take it easy for a few weeks.
On Sunday July 24th we are holding 1400cc bangers, so we can monitor if we are getting enough cars please will you
book in with Val on 01524 858301.
The Gary Hesp meeting being held on Sunday 7tyh August is for rear wheel drive bangers. Also on that day we are
having the robin reliants.
On Sunday 28th August it is the caravan meeting. The size of the caravan should be no bigger than 15foot and they
must be fastened on by either tow bar or chain. As a safety measure the committee and myself are asking you to put
1/2inch mesh on the front of the banger on the drivers side of the car. This proved quite vital to one driver in the
caravan race last year.
As I am sponsoring that meeting I will be giving the winner of the caravan race a prize of £50.00. You can book in
with Val on telephone number 01524 858301.
Start money again today for the driver members of the club, so get yourselves off to Shirley's office to collect.
Last Sunday the club went to another show only this time it was at Hambilton House Farm, near St Michaels. The day
was a big success with a lot of interest from perspective spectators. I would like to say a big thanks to Martin Makim
244, Anthony Kerr 880, James Hayhurst 101 and 356 Paul Anderson who came and displayed their cars and also I would
like to thank everybody who came and helped promote the club.
The next meeting is on Sunday 24th July at 12 0`clock, where we will be holding the Stock Cars, Super bangers, the
juniors back in their minis and the bangers are all 1400cc.
That's all from me today, hope you all enjoy today as the drivers enjoy themselves in the metro bangers and always
put on a good show.

NOTES FROM THE CHAIRMAN (26-06-05)
I would like to thank Martindale Industrial Fasteners Ltd for sponsoring last meeting. Today's meeting is being
sponsored by The Bay radio.
Last meeting the weather seemed ok at the beginning but after the interval the heavens opened and soaked us all
through.
The bangers were down in numbers due to the big team meeting at Hednesford. It was good to see the Raiders with
us racing, swelling the numbers up a bit.
A notice to all the banger drivers, it has been brought to our attention that some bangers are welded and plated
excessively. From this meeting anyone deemed to be excessively welded and plated would not be allowed to race
until it is removed. Please check your rule book if you are unclear of anything.
The mini stox driver 168 Isaac Parkinson has got a broken kneecap, which is in plaster due to his crash at the last
meeting. I couldn't go and see him in the hospital due to my vehicle being in the garage having a lot of work done
to it.
Isaac came out of hospital on the Wednesday and I spoke to him on the Thursday night. He is having a brand new mini
built even though it will be a few weeks before he is back behind the wheel.
He would like to thank the crash team and St John's for their help on the day and we all wish him a speedy recovery.
ATTENTION ALL MINI STOX DRIVERS
You MUST have your scrutineers ticket into Shirley before 11.45am, if you don`t you will only be allowed to race in
the Grand National, referring to rule number 21.
If there is 20 cars or less you will still have 2 heats as normal. 21 or more cars and you will be split into 3 heats
running on a 2/3 format and then the top 20 scorers will race in the final. This is a trial only; the committee and
I look forward to your views on this after the trial.
Some cars are getting upto the ingate late therefore the gate has already been closed. When you here your class being
called up to the gate that is the time you need to be going.
When you hear the 2-minute warning, 2 minutes is all you will get before the gate is shut.
I must mention this again as at the last meeting alot of you drivers was breaking this rule. The speed limit in the
pit area is just 5mph. The drivers involved at the last meeting have been dealt with.
The stock cars were again down in numbers they seem to be turning up on a rotator basis with some turning up one week
and the others turn up the meeting after. I am very interested as to know why so if anybody could enlighten me.
Mick the water tank driver suffered a mild heart attack last week. I have spoken to his wife Christine along with
their 2 daughters Sarah and Helen and they would like to pass on their thanks to everybody for their get well cards
and best wishes. Everybody here at Warton wishes Mick a speedy recovery.
On Sunday July 24th we are holding the 1400cc bangers, so we can monitor if we are getting enough bangers please will
you book in with Val on 01524 858301.
The Gary Hesp meeting being held on Sunday 7th August is for rear wheel drive bangers. Also on that day we are holding
the Robin Reliants.
The Scorton show was a big success, we got lots of interest, the weather was good to us until we went to go and the
heavens opened and wet us through. I stopped to help a few cars get out of the mud. I would like to thank the
following drivers for bringing their cars up and putting them on display. John and Anthony Kerr 880, Roland Kelsall
264, Rick Harris 24, Michelle Creighton 182, James Hayhurst 101, Martin Makim 244 and Alex Chapman 134. I would like
to say thanks to Tony Porter, Phillippa, Mick and Val O`Brien and everybody else who helped out, but a big thanks goes
to Judith and Graham Hayhurst who made the weekend a big success with all the work they did.
Another show is coming up on the weekend of Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd July at Hambilton House Farm, near St Michaels.
If anybody could help us out again with bringing their cars and putting them on display please let Graham or myself
know.
There is start money again today so get yourselves off to Shirleys office to collect. This is for driver members only.
I have received an email from Tony who has not raced for the last few years.
Norman/Angela
Just a little note to thank you for your warm welcome last Sunday. It was good to be back racing again, after such a
long break and also to see everyone again. Not wishing to upset any of the old committee, whom I`m sure did a good job,
but I did notice that the track is now far more organized than it was. It was also good to see that the Banger drivers
were given a 2 minute count down to get on track and this was strictly adhered to.
I am unable to make the next few meetings due to work, holidays etc etc, but hope to be back again later in the season.
See you then!
Thanks, Tony (T-Bone) Banger 949
The next meeting is being held on Sunday 10th July at 12 oclock. We have got the super bangers, stock cars, junior
bangers and metro bangers. Not a meeting to be missed.

A NOTE FROM THE CHAIRMAN (29-05-05)
I would like to welcome you all here today and hope you have a good day. I would like to thank our sponsors for the
last race meeting, which was Classic Engravings.
Today is the North West Team Championship. Our sponsorers for today are Steeles removals only they may not be here
today as Dean got married yesterday. So from all of us we wish you both all the best.
Mini stox and Stock cars are our supporting formulas for today. Start money is being paid and points are being awarded
to both classes.
It is the bangers day today and I hope they all have a good day. Prize money is being awarded for them totaling £2050.
BANGERS are out onto the track FIRST starting the day off.
My mate Gerald came to the track last meeting, he had been let out of hospital for the day on good behaviour. He is
now out of hospital full time and that seems to be making him feel a lot better.
John, he is now mobile and driving about in his car, hopefully it wont be long before he is back driving his tractor,
providing everything goes well.
Last meeting I had my fingers crossed for a good one but yet again we seem to have a lot of problems in the first
races. We seem to still have a lot of problems in the practice laps before the days racing gets underway.
Most drivers ignored the flags yet again, not surprising though one mini stox driver ploughed into the back of another
mini driver causing an accident on the out gate due to ignorance of the flags.
Each driver is given 5 laps; the yellow flag will be out for 4 of those laps and on the fifth one the red flag will
come out. You STOP and EXIT at the out gate.
There is no limit as to how many times you can go onto the track and practice.
As a reminder to all classes, especially the mini stox
FLAGS:
GREEN-Start of the race
RED-STOP racing immediately
YELLOW-drive with caution
WAVING YELLOW-Stop racing, stay in single file NO overtaking
BLACK-pull into the infield, you are excluded from the race
CHEQUERED-End of race, continue to race for one lap until red flag is shown.
The Super banger class is going to be introduced to a BLUE flag. This will be called a WARNING flag and will be held
on the starters post. This will be shown to you if you are using excessive force.
Talking of flags, St John's are not allowed onto the track to treat injured drivers, until ALL cars have stopped
moving. Therefore when the RED flags wave, YOU STOP RIGHT AWAY. IF ANYONE FAILS TO STOP QUICKLY, THE RACE WILL BE
DECLARED VOID.
Any driver who suffers an injury during a race then refuses treatment from the St John's will NOT be allowed to race
again for the rest of the day.
A SAFETY NOTE TO SPECTATORS:
Will you please stop climbing up the safety fence to watch the racing, there is wires sticking up on the top and also
there is risk of things flying up off the track when racing in progress.
I have had a few spectators onto me saying that certain banger drivers should be black flagged because of their
actions, one spectator even saying that bangers is a nudge and spin class. This is NOT the case, bangers is a FULL
contact class.
I need your help,if anyone has any old photos and programmes from 1980 to 1983 with drivers no. 72 Phil Cotton, 555
Wild Willy Mac and driver 477. I would be grateful if anyone can help me out, and if you could pass your name on to
me or a member of the committee.
Police were out on the last meeting we had in the Pilling area checking cars and trailors, I hope none of our drivers
got stopped so be warned, make sure your trailors lights and brakes are working.
The next meeting is being held on Sunday 12th June starting at noon, The West Coast Classic. We will be having the
Super banger class back with us along with the mini stox, stock cars and unlimited bangers.
Have a good day and cheer for your team.

A NOTE FROM THE CHAIRMAN 15-05-05
Well hello and welcome once again to Warton Stock car club. The weather at the last meeting was kind the sun came out
for a while. The racing was very good and made up for previous mishaps in other meetings.
Junior bangers put on a good show but there were a few inexperienced drivers racing in that class more than in previous
meetings we have had. So next time parents please make sure your child has more car control.
The fund raising event we had for Gerald and John on 17th April was a poor turnout of bangers. The only person who put
himself out was 880 Anthony Kerr. Building a special car for that meeting was a DS 420 limousine also he had put get
well soon on his car. Anthony was presented a trophy for best material and best paint job.
WELL DONE ANTHONY.
I have been to see both Gerald and John again; John hopes to be able to be back driving soon and Gerald is making good
progress and keeps eating all the goodies that I take him.
We have found somebody to do the disable parking area, he is there to help so please do NOT abuse him.
At the last meeting again the staff on the entrance gate were subject to a lot of verbal abuse by a minority of members
and spectators. This will not be tolerated. Members and under 10 year olds are the only people who gain free entry
to the track, everyone else pays, no exception.
Mini stox drivers, you will be having your restrictor's changed today, anybody who loses theirs will be charged £10.00
for a replacement.
Practice laps before the days racing starts, each driver is given 5 laps, on your last lap the yellow flag will be
waved at you, at the end of your fifth lap the red flag will then be waved, that is when you will exit the track via
the exit gate. At the last meeting a lot of the drivers were abusing the flags, there is no limit as to how many
times you can go onto the track for a practice.
Talking of flags, St Johns are not allowed onto the track to treat injured drivers, until ALL cars have stopped moving.
Therefore when the RED FLAGS wave YOU STOP RIGHT AWAY. IF ANYONE FAILS TO STOP QUICKLY, THE RACE WILL BE DECLARED
VOID.
Any driver who suffers an injury during a race then refuses treatment from the St Johns will NOT be allowed to race
again that day.
AN IMPORTANT NOTE FOR THE SPECTATORS:
When there is an accident on the track, spectators must NOT ring for emergency services. The St Johns ambulance work
together with the marshals and they do ALL the correspondence to the emergency services. The St Johns do an excellent
job and are always one step further than anybody else, so please do NOT ring and leave it to the relevant people,
thankyou for your co-operation in this matter.
Check your roof colours in this program and make sure your displaying the correct one and that you line up in the
correct place on the grid.
I have been informed by the lap scorers, at the last meeting they did not count in at least 5 drivers due to them not
being able to read the numbers. One car even came onto the track with no number on at all.
They must be either BLACK on a WHITE background or WHITE on a BLACK background and the numbers must be at least 12"
high by 11/2 " stroke. The committee has informed the lap scorers if they cant read your number or have the wrong
colour they have not got to count you in. You have been warned so it's now up to you.
All I seem to be doing is reading the rulebook to drivers and spectators, the rules are there to be followed and
drivers will be penalized for not doing as the rulebook states. Lets get onto a better level where I don't have to
keep getting onto you all.
Appearance money is being paid again today, so get yourself off to Shirley's office to claim. This is for paid driver
members only.
The next meeting is on Sunday May 29thstarting at noon, it is the North West Open Team Championship 1800cc limit. It
will feature teams of 4, so get your team booked in with VAL, telephone 01524 858301. Prize money that day mounts up
to a total of £2050.
The supporting formula for that Sunday is Mini stox.
Not a meeting to be missed.
That's all from me for today.

NOTES FROM THE CHAIRMAN 01-05-05
Well hello and welcome to Warton Stock car club, we are all here once again for another good meeting. Let's hope the
rain keeps off us today. It was another great meeting last time and the rain almost held off until the end of the day..
John and Gerald are still making steady progress in their recovery as I have, again, been to see them both. Gerald
has now got to the stage of walking up and down the ward, using a walking frame. We had a collection for them last
meeting and we raised just over £1000 from bucket collections, the committee decided to make the total up to £2000
using a percentage from the entry money.
Yet again I have to remind the drivers that when you have been through scrutineering please go and give Shirley your
scrutineers ticket and book in for the days racing straight away. Yet again at the last meeting there were many people
who were handing their tickets in on the last minute; we couldn't keep up with the number of drivers in each class.
The drivers meetings are being held at 11.45am ready for the racing to start at 12.0`clock. If the junior banger
drivers could take their cars onto the track just before the drivers meeting starts and then for the junior banger
drivers to attend the meeting as some if not most still need to learn their flags.
Talking of flags, St Johns are not allowed onto the track to treat injured drivers, until ALL cars have stopped moving.
Therefore when the RED FLAGS wave YOU STOP RIGHT AWAY. If ANYONE FAILS TO STOP QUICKLY, THE RACE WILL BE DECLARED VOID.
Another rule that almost everyone is adhering too is the keep at walking pace when you enter the track and line up on
the grid.
Check your roof colours in this program and make sure your displaying the correct one and that you line up in the
correct place on the grid.
Yet again at the last meeting, lap scorers could not read a lot of the drivers' roof fins. They must be either black
on a white background or white on a black background and the numbers must be at least 12" high by 1 ½" stroke. If the
lap scorers cannot read your number you will not be counted in the races, so it's up to you.
A reminder that anybody who comes to the entrance gate and claims they are dropping any tools etc off to a driver they
will be charged entrance fee. If they return in 15 minutes with the entrance ticket they will receive a refund. It
worked well last time.
That said it has been brought to the committees attention that the staff at the gate are being subjected to verbal
abuse by a minority of members and spectators. This will not be tolerated. Members and under 10 year olds are the only
people who gain free entry to the track, everyone else pays, no exception.
On a lighter note appearance money will be paid today, so don't forget to collect it.
We are still looking for a marshal for the disabled parking area, this person must be willing to come up to the track
every race meeting and to monitor the disabled parking area. If you are interested please come and see a committee
member or me.
Mini stox, can you please put hooks on the front and back off the cars so that they will be easy to weigh.
Cross bikes and quad bikes and anything else like these are not to be raced in the pits or in any other areas, you will
automatically be loaded up. Please take this into consideration, as it is a very important safety issue.
The next meeting is being held on Sunday May 15th, starting at noon. The ministox are back and we are having the super
bangers, stock cars and the banger drivers are in their 2litre cars again. Let's hope it's a good a days racing as we
have had every meeting so far this season.
That's all from me for today.

NOTES FROM THE CHAIRMAN 27-03-05
Well I am not entirely sure where to start my notes, what started off as a good meeting with a good turn out of bangers,
mini stox and lots of great racing, ended in a very freak accident.
Firstly I would like to thank St Johns, they did an excellent job, the committee and I would like to say a big thank you
to everybody else that helped with the people who got injured.
John and Gerald would like to thank everybody for the get-well wishes, cards and presents. John is now at home
recovering; he has suffered a very bad break in the leg. Gerald is still in hospital but well on the road to recovery,
we all hope they will be back at Warton with us soon. Our thanks goes to all the staff at Lancaster hospital.
The health and safety and the insurance company have been to investigate the accident and they have put forward
recommendations. I hope spectators and drivers understand the changes, which we have had to make, but the club has to
move on.
On this note I would like to mention the drivers meetings are being held at 11:45am ready for the racing to start at
12.0`clock. Today especially, the committee and I are asking you to make sure you attend the meeting today as new
changes are being brought in, and they are serious safety issues.
Graham Hayhurst is going to be acting vice-chairman until Gerald returns.
A note for your diary, on Sunday April 17th a re-run for metal mania, is to occur. A fundraiser for Gerald and John,
If the mini stox could take their minis onto the track before the start of the days racing, this will start today and
be for every meeting.
We now have a skip in place behind the big rock this is for all your unwanted car parts, but we cannot put tyres in it.
You can place all your rubbish in it as well.
Cross bikes and quad bikes and anything else like these are not to be raced in the pits or in any other areas, you will
automatically be loaded up. Again we are asking to think about the safety.
I would like to give you an update on Dave number 144 who got injured last year, he has had his pins taken out of his
leg now and is on the mend. Dave is making a slow but steady recovery..
I would like to thank everybody who came down last Sunday to help on the track so we can race to-day.
That's all from me.

NOTES FROM THE CHAIRMAN 06-03-05
Well here we are again for another season of good racing, kicking off with Metal Mania. The Junior bangers put on a
really good show at Christmas, they should make excellent drivers in other formulas in the future.
Today we are having mini stox as the supporting formula, but mostly today is all about the unlimited bangers.
If the mini stox could take their minis onto the track before the start of the days racing, this will start today and
be for every meeting.
The mini stox are racing for points today and the bangers are racing for prize money, this should get them motivated.
Prize money consists of 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the banger final, the furthest traveled, best presented car and the DD.
Bangers are to keep racing threw blockages today and there will be no jacking up of empty cars.
I would like to hold my hand up and admit that I dropped a clangor at the presentation dance, so I will just take this
opportunity to thank Paul Naylor for doing all the commentating on that night, and also to thank all the sponsors and
advertisers for last years support and this years as well.
We now have a skip in place behind the big rock this is for all your unwanted car parts
But we cannot put tyres in you can place all your rubbish aswell.
Cross bikes and quad bikes and anything else like these are not to be raced in the pits or all the surrounding areas,
you will be automatically told to load it up.
I would like to thank everybody who has been down to the track, to help with all the work.
The club still has a vacancy for anybody willing to come up every Monday after every race meeting to pick up all the
rubbish. If you are interested please come and see me, or a member of the committee.
Drivers meeting are still at 11.45am ready for the racing to start at 12.00.
Don`t forget practice day is on Sunday 13th March 10.00am - 3.00pm and the cost is £20.00 per car.
Trevor will be here again to supply you with all the refreshments and hot food.
Last of all I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate my daughter Angela on her wedding to Paul, which took
place a couple of weeks ago.
